*_What's your favorite Yvonne Strahovski role? Appreciation thread below!_*

Sarah Walker. Chuck is such a great show

Favorite Yvonne Strahovski role is Daenerys Targaryen in "The Princess Rap Battle"! Kidding but she did rock the mic better than most of the other princesses (worth a look on KZbin). The Predator is my personal favorite movie with Yvonne in it and she legit stole every scene she was in. Her best role is Serena (wicked AF) in Handmaids Tale!
@A82-y3k4 жыл бұрын
Serena in The Handmaid's Tale is my favorite role of Yvonne's while I think her best is Sofie in Stateless. I thought she was great in Chuck but she keeps outdoing herself every time. I hope she bags even bigger projects with bigger exposure and gets the proper recognition she deserves SOON.

For me it's always going to NBC's Chuck because that was her breakout role. Her chemistry with Zachary Levi was perfect and Adam Baldwin who played John Casey was another nice addition who balance seriousness, action so well. One thing I loved about the show is the Superman connection it had with Matt Bomer who played Bryce Larkin voiced Superman in Superman: Unbound, Brandon Routh played a rival spy who wanted the human intersect program, Kristen Kruek who played Lana Lang in Smallville portrayed Chuck's love interest for like 4 episodes, Adam Baldwin who voiced Superman in Superman: Doomsday. I even enjoyed the Rocky IV connection with Dolph Lundgren guest starring playing a agent working for a rogue organization and using the famous line from Rocky IV "If he dies, he dies...Even the terminator connection with Linda Hamilton playing Chuck's mom who was a spy like her husband portrayed by Scott Bakula from Quantum Leap. Even the James Bond connection with Timothy Dalton, Star Wars with Mark Hamill and the list just goes on. This show is the precursor to the geek culture and in my opinion kind of started it all.

I had never heard of Chuck, just stumbled onto it the other day and binged the whole thing. Yvonne was fantastic, instantly likeable, super hot, and a kick ass super spy. She’s from my hometown Sydney so really proud of her. Love you Yvonne! Funny I’ve just been watching old Full Frontal and Comedy Company.

Great interview. She comes across very well. I was particularly impressed with how she handled the question about her filmography, about "not getting roles deserving of [her] skill set." She seems so grounded. I also feel like she is one of those actors who perform not for recognition or fame but primarily for the craft. Her television resume is pretty tight, but I do wish she would get more high-profile roles and recognition. She deserves it.

Thank you for this interview, Perri! Great questions and I loved hearing her responses as she is so insightful. I appreciated your review of Stateless as well. It is a great show that should not be judged prematurely. So complex!

I love how Yvonne talks about being a normal teen. Kids need to know that acne is part of growing up and I believe she’s very beautiful naturally. Doesn’t need much makeup as she’s done in stateless and Handmaid’s tale. She has said she was a tomboy growing up and on comic con panels she’s done shows her as she really is. Funny and down to earth. I wish her much success. She’s got a movie with Chris Pratt coming out. Tomorrow’s war. Still want that chuck movie for Sarah Walker to get her memory back.

I play lots of video games so my introduction to Yvonne Strahovski was the Mass Effect series as Miranda, she was one of my favourite characters in large part because of Yvonne's amazing voice acting. I'm not a big comedy fan so I ignored Chuck until the day I found out she was in that show and then I was like "okay, now I have to go back and watch this", ended up really enjoying it :)

Is it just me or do these "remote" interviews seem to go better? I feel like collider folks always do a great job and are enjoyable, but the celebs just seem to be far more giving/dialed in. Likely because they can't go anywhere etc, but this and some others recently have been fantastic+.
@Fillmore.Pockets4 жыл бұрын
I've been wondering the same thing. I was thinking its because Collider, the celebs, and even us at home have gotten so comfortable seeing/talking to people on Zoom/Face Time apps that interviews performed this way seem more intimate and less formal?
@GregCimilluca4 жыл бұрын
@@Fillmore.Pockets I definitely think that has a lot to do with it. I didn't recognize it at first but the more I have watched the more I have seen it. I hope it stays when the world returns to us, as we return to it.

@@GregCimilluca I'm with you! Well put. And the background/locations everyone decides to film in front of during these Corona interviews tell a story of their own. I'll miss it if it doesn't carry forward in some capacity.

Serena Joy on "The Handmaid's Tale" or Hannah McKay on "Dexter." Yes, she's great on Chuck - but it wasn't a particularly difficult role. Serena Joy and Hannah are two of the most complex characters we've seen onscreen in the last 10 years. A lesser actress would have made both characters unsympathetic. Her ability to evoke sympathy and nuance in both characters is astounding. Just knocks it out of the park.
@joubinha3333 жыл бұрын
She’s my favorite because of that reason
@Hosenanzugtasche3 жыл бұрын
Tbh being likeable and evoking emotion is never just easy, so a lesser actress wouldn't have done as well a Sarah as she did either. That kind of tangible chemistry doesn't come from nothing.

SOmetime it's better that series gets their ending, either they end with a good conclusion or they continue long enough to become a cash grab. Chuck had a great ending and us fans were lucky that we got one.
@HollyCranfan3 жыл бұрын
I agree. They need to have Sarah get her memory back. She said she’s game to do it. She talked fondly of Chuck here. They are like family.
@Hosenanzugtasche3 жыл бұрын
Family reunion? Yes. Just picking up where they left off? I'd rather not. Or just a retcon, no way. I'd rather have them explain how she slowly got her memory back while falling in love all over again and now it's several years later and an external actor threatens them so they get back in the game.

Hi Perri! Not sure if you'd see this. Stateless swept the AACTA Awards including a Best Lead Actress win for Yvonne. As an industry voter, do you think Stateless has a chance to get some recognition in Hollywood, especially for Yvonne and Fayssal? Thanks!

It's not just culture, it's how the mind works: easy to pronounce is "pleasant" (we call it fluent) to think of. Just like beautiful people come to mind more easily and get more recognition in return.

Because its a white main ensemble, its show sucks ? Stupid title to use for this interview, your jus creating a large thumb down ratio and negative comment impact.

The series is about the refugee crisis but has garnered some criticism for being told through the lens of a white Australian refugee (though her character is based on a real person). Yvonne addresses this in this episode, but we've updated the title of this video - clearly some people were a little too quick to judge without actually watching the interview. Hope you enjoy the conversation!
