Everything that he said in regard to the fans he absolutely stands behind. After the Cup win in 2002, my dad and I went to our first Training Camp. Steve had retired and was in the front office. I happened to meet Ken Holland in the hall way and told him I had waited ten years and come a thousand miles from VA to meet one person. He told me where to be after the game. Mr. Holland himself escorted me back. Five feet behind the VIP curtain was Steve Yzerman, hand extended, ready to meet me. One of my best memories.

How cool would it be to have the Redwings as the only team to NOT have a corporate logo on their jersey!? I think it's doable. What needs to happen is that the fan base needs to firmly and unequivocally make it known that they will boycott any company that puts their visible logo on the jersey. However, we will support, with wild abandon, any company that buys the space but elects to keep it blank. If we get the message out, we could influence opinion and keep the jersey clean. The positive PR for whatever company pays to keep the jersey clean would far outweigh what they would get with a crappy patch. And we would show the NHL why the wings are, once again, the class of the NHL. Idealistic? Yes. Doable? Yes!!! Let's make this happen!!

Yeah :/ He sure did. Like I said I wish there was some way he could of said ONE MORE year out of the blue and got the winged wheel on that 08 team wasn't stacked like the 02 team but it was still soild and he could of just been there on the ride. BUT i know that isn't his style but I so wish he could of gotten a 4th.

@@savagetilley2782 he was statistically irrelevant in 06. He should have retired in 02. We were lucky to get another 3 seasons after the cup run in 02. We were even luckier he decided to even attempt a comeback in 03 and after the lockout. I often wondered what the team would have looked like with him on it in 07. They had the talent to beat the ducks. To say a 40 year old could take a year off and comeback at 42 is insane. He was finished in 06 his stats show this.
