Zürich on Film Pt. 1 | LOMOCHROME METROPOLIS | Leica M6

A fun day shooting Lomochrome Metropolis in Zürich and hanging out with my friend Gilles. Check out his Instagram account. He does amazing street photography on film.

After I finished the roll of Metropolis I loaded a roll of ILFORD Ortho Plus and continued shooting. The video became too long though, so I decided to make this a two part series. Stay tuned for part II if you are interested in the ILFORD Ortho Plus shots.
All photos in this video were taken with my Leica M6 on Lomochrome Metropolis.

Great effort as always Markus, loved the music choice and the location made me curious to visit Zurich. When you say don't try this at home with a Leica in your hand that's exactly what I think every time I climb a dangerous rock or rooftop with my 67 ahahah

Hey, Markus😃👋! That looks like an interesting type of film. With the desaturated colors it looks a little bit like the “classic chrome” film simulation from Fuji. Although it’s not a cheap film I think I will give it a try😎👍. And I am looking forward to your thoughts about Ilford Ortho. It’s kind of special and - in my opinion - not for everyday shooting. But of course this depends on individual taste😅.

I have yet to try C200 and ColorPlus. And I want to shoot my next roll of Metropolis at ISO 400. I presume it will become more grungy. But I still need to find out.

The shots in the parking lot looked so so good! But I also like the tones down greens by the river. Interesting film, have to give it a try one day - thanks for sharing! (Oh an btw: what camera did you shoot the video on? Looks really really good, is it the gopro?)

Thanks a lot Karin. Yes, give it a try. Fun film. I like what I have seen so far. Yes, the video was shot on a GoPro 7 Black with an ND filter attached to it. I switched to filming all my videos on the GoPro since end of March . Had enough of the big Canon and I didn't see many advantages for my video work at least :) The GoPro serves me well so far.

Beautiful shots, the ISO choice of 200 is the best for Metropolis I think. I wish I would have taken the cyclists in 5:53 and 5:58, from a low point of view ✌

Thanks a lot. I like Metropolis more when shot at 400. It works well with ISO 200 too. In the end it’s a matter of taste. I am planning a video about the film some time in spring. You are right about a lower point of view with the cyclists.

8:11 and the last shot are my favorite. Love how the shadows look with this film. ISO 200 is probably the sweet spot of this film. What are you thoughts about this film? Something you would shoot again?

Thanks a lot Mateo. I still have two rolls in the fridge and I want to shoot it at 400 as well which I have not done yet. But at ISO 200 it looks pretty neat for my taste. I will do a review video some time later this year once I shot it on 400 as well and I got to know its strengths and weaknesses a bit more. What I can say is that I will definitely keep shooting it. Loving what I have seen so far from the two rolls I have shot so far.

The M Photography Great! Glad to hear. I shot this film at 100, 160, 200 & 400. And 200 is my favorite. One thing I haven’t done that I will probably do this weekend is do long exposures in the city (San Francisco).
