The Mission asks you to build the Train Station on Glacio, so that is where you left it. You don't actually need 2 Stations, Just the 1 to power the system. Remember there are also junctions you can use to call the train on the other end, but if you are going to ride the train. 1 Station works fine.

Train Tips -- #1 - You don't need any stations at all. Each post has a plug and a Call Button. Great for making FOB's. You can stop it and hop out at any point. The posts each have button attach things and can hold a light or small gens. Great way to add solar and/or wind power. The rails are a lot like Tether lines. O2 and power the whole way. You can actually connect multiple bases to one another in this way. The Station is mostly for Automation. I wish they were all like the 1 for the mission. Actually working like a Landing Pad for Missions, and such. *The Rails will make their own tunnels, so be aware of the terrain.* Also, much like Tethers, Posts and Junctions can be sucked back into the bundles. Personally, I like to have some Tall Posts as an option for ravines and cliffs. Junctions are a little weird, but useful when figured out. Most of my designs are just connecting my main base for the planet to 1 or 2 other areas or FOB's. So I generally don't need Junctions. Handy when I do feel the need, tho. The Glacio Snail and Train Missions are probably easiest done together. Bring a bunch of Sulphur Gas and/or Explosive Powder. By bunch, I mean like 1 medium gas container. FYI, don't over prep for the DLC. Don't want to spoil if you're avoiding spoilers. Just know that this Save has everything you need already. ... Matter of fact, I think you've already done what you need to do to get the unlock Mission.

Hey I know im a little late and this goes for anyone who doesnt know, the leveling block creates an angle the way it was shown in the video due to the distance you are between two gateways. Not a hundred percent sure why this is but to simple it, the closer you are to a gateway the flatter it'll be so if you used a leveling block directly under a gateway itd give a super flat block rather than an angled one

You can put rail posts or junctions back in the bundle just like you do tethers... just hit 'F' while it's on the cursor. Once you get far enough on the missions with the train you can get a faster train... you can also have a train length of 6 regardless, the engine also isn't required but does make the cars faster than they are on their own. You can recall the train from any rail post too.

So glad to see you back in Astro Zee. it is possible to get the floor to be true flat. you just need to place more leveling blocks to check the surface. Also if you are lucky enough to get a seed with floating gateways its perfect so much room.

if i was to suggest. complete the snails quest for each planet. there are slots on the lab on top to slot them when not in use then they can socialize with each other

I still say that they should have made a train station that interacts with the Odd Stones, so they, or at least their cargoes, can get teleported between planets. Or autopilot mods for rockets would work too.

I tend to use rails instead of tethers when roaming and digging down, so when I make an engine, I don't have to male a whole new track layout. Plus, using the soil extractor thing and smelter to make ceramic for turbines gives more reliable power on really long layouts without searching and wasting copper for solar.

the only way you can get true flat is to flatten the TOP of the gateway...just a large floating platform on top of it lol.

Z you can add up to 5 train cars to the engine and you can recall the train at any rail post with the button at the bottom of the post

There are players with entire planetary rail networks on every planet as well as rail links to the planet cores. Think Planet Coaster in Astroneer .

The alignment mod for the gun digs a semi-flat surface in relation to the planet's core. There's a slight curve, but you perceive it as flat, à lá flat-earthers.

You should do autoextractors to reduce time of harvesting... Rails is good add for going forward backward and no, it doesnt need to be automated.... Eg. I have rails to autoextractors and there have medium resource storage with switch to turn off autoextractors when full to save power

You don't need to package your machines at all! You can put them on a train car as is! Save alot on zinc!! But, you'll have to package the big platforms to send them!

@ yeah, he did this before in one of his previous episodes, running all over for most of the episode, looking for Zinc, so he could move something, at the end he finds out it uses graphite, that he could spin up with dirt; though at the time he didn’t have the centrifuge unlocked yet, or did the missions far enough to get awarded it. Though, all honesty, he probably gets more interaction with his fans reminding him of stuff, so it probably is all to plan.

I moved once, I used the large rover and 3 trailers. The tier 3 drill and paver maid quick work of the terrain and created a highway for me to use to explore the world. It keeps the holes in the terrain to literally not matter. Not just that once I was moved. I had the rover all ready for a massive soil collection system. I have like 10 soil canisters. The place I get soil looks like a strip mine in Astroneer form. 😂

Zooming please stop chase ture flat you're on a natural sphere shape the level block doesn't do what you think it does there a video to show you how to find the flat spot but it's not worth it cause your on a ball you have to dig out and terraform or delete a big area to give a flat zone sorry man but it's not worth the engery and time just get alignment tool it help give the veiw of flat zone with out the hassle of cut huge chuck out of the world
