Yeah, my base is much higher up, maybe twice that (I 100% feel the climbing pain) and it only took 10 pistons because I used a controller

the piston will only go as long as it is capable, you cant get a 15 out of a basic piston, in the controller it goes up to 15 but it will only ever extend the max the piston is.. lvl 1 piston, into a controller set to 15 will still only extent 7.

to avoid the monorail from falling when out of render distance to it's attachment point, just run posts periodically to the ground. Bots don't attack your structures unless 1) they are surrounding a farm during raid or 2) a bot is aggro'ed to you and your structure is in the way

Z1, harvesting using pumps to suck up the crops will generate soil for your plots!!! When you water your plots only one soil per plot will get the water. You will have to pick up the extra soil each time you harvest otherwise you will have issues watering your plots...

I've built my base on the desert one of these. Be careful and make sure when the raid starts you are up there otherwise they will spawn in your farm!

Use a controller to pistons in the lift. Because the lvl. 1 piston connected to a controller, it can go 15 block and the maximum speed.

Hi Z, Thanks for the awesome content. Regarding your auto farming system, you can use vacuum pumps to water as well this way you can use the vacuum containers which hold a ton more water than the water container. Cheers,

You could put a seat on your elevator and connect the button to it, so it won't matter how fast the elevator goes down.

@Z1, I don't know if you have seen, or heard of, it yet but Moonbo made an automatic water/planter/harvester machine for a 3x3 plot of crops. He made it so he can basically start it and forget it. It does have a weird glitch of duplicating soil somehow though lol. But it is a pretty need design and works fine. And it's small enough that it doesn't set off the not attacks for most plants. You should check it out of you haven't already.

U can automate the mounted spud guns so they will defend your base or car or what ever you want

QoL Tip: If you start placing a block and then decide you didn't want to, RMB will cancel. The same goes for deleting blocks, if you decide you actually don't want to delete it after you begin deleting, then using LMB will cancel it.

I tried to build an elevator to a high base but it took way too many pistons. Instead I built walls with insets and put the pistons on my vehicle and timed them so the go up and then into the insets and then pull my vehicle up, then lock in place and do it again. Really good design and I can make as many "elevators" as I want without ever needing more pistons.

Instead of a monorail Why not a train, have your wheels below the cabin so you sit atop the rail, with a flat base that you can put pillars on every so often so it always has a connection to ground, you could even use like 4 blocks of high strength metal/concrete to protect them

if u used a controler, u could extent even a level 1 piston to (level 5) range - instead of using tons and tons of pistons , and kits to upgrade them all aka 4 pistons + 1 controler lev 3 = 60 + piston space blocks ( 68 range - way more than tons of pistons and mats to make them

If you use a controller you get the full range without having to upgrade and you have have one extend after the other making it slower.

SUGGESTIONS : To reach the other tree. Try some pillars and test it. Maybe at least one pillar will always be loaded and keep the rail up.

if you use 1 max upgrade controller on all of that piston. ur piston automatically got max range

Add a seat to your elevator, and you can set the pistons to max speed. But don't foget to use the seat…

Watering Tip: If you run a line from your machine to a water source, then you can set up your vacuum/water tank and then use the connector to connect the water tank to the water cannon(s). That way, you only need one tank per 100 soil plots.

Why don't you still make your monorail, just make a tower system (support beams from the ground to the monorail) before the despawning happens so that way your rail system will not fall and keep repeating till you get to your farm area

Also to get rid of them in your setting there is a setting that says foliage density if you put it on the lowest setting it gets rid of most of the bushes and most of the grass. (Like so he can see)

I think the tree base is a bit too much, too big. and yes the planting takes twice as long as harvesting and watering. Kan made a workaround but no harvesting. moonbo also did a fully automated one and it glitched out his soil

Running over bots can destroy your vehicle... I lost a bed and a 2x2 block area the bed was resting on ( which was cheap wood or wood 1 ) but it was 6 or 7 off the ground before you hit wood... so about 10 off the ground at the top of the bed.. maybe 9... and a bot killed it.

Z, did you know you can use a regular large cargo chest to store water and then hook a pump up to it and it will do the same as a water cannon but give you far more water storage.

I highlyrecommend ylu take the time to watch KANgaming auto farmer before you decide to make yours. Its possible. But its a very slow process. The dispensers can only plant at a very slow pace

Just build a fast pumping station somewhere and fill multiple crates for supply. A single connectable crate can store 600 canisters which would be 4 harvests on his farm.
