Just a heads up for people getting bigger pumps you need a dedicated relay with direct battery current. And if possible install bulk head studs at the top of the tank to run thicker gauge wire.

I don't understand why they're dropping the whole tank when you can access the fuel pump through the floor of the car right above it.

I believe this was either a universal or 240sx DeatschWerks pump, and yes all you have to do is clamp it to the fuel bracket, cut fuel hose to length and wire ground and positive wires to the existing wires. Pump is still working fine

heat shrink, aslong as you place them higher up it should be fine. Gas does not conduct electricity

A bit late to the party but I am replacing my fuel pump, will any walbro 255 work because the only ones I can find that are close to fitting a z31 are ones for the z32?

A few places sell a complete kit to fit the 31, with the 32 the filter attaches differently so you'd want to source either a 31 kit or if my memory is correct an s13 kit may fit as well.

Not sure why you took the entire tank out. Couldn't you just pull it out inside the car?

Just did this last weekend. Glad to see I didn't miss by much. Do you guys think the wires from the pump have to run through those blue connectors or can they just run straight wire to wire? What's the third wire coming from the pump loom if there's only a +/- on the pump?

The 3rd wire is some odd ground that splices into the other ground, not sure the purpose but they both become one wire at sompoint

Isn't that thing on the old fuel pump a fuel pressure regulator?,so what happens since you guys dont have it or that just a fuel damper?

Fuel pressure regulator is in the engine bay, im not sure what it is but its not needed with a new pump

Germel Dasalla They are soldered then heat shrinked, but the connection will not be submerged in gas, its up at the top

Gasoline doesn’t really effect electrical like that. If it wasn’t for shorting out you could run bare wire and youd be fine.

@@apexjustice4383 There's a gasket around it that may be stuck if you're having that much trouble. It's a PITA to get into that small space and pull it out, but it does come out without dropping the tank.

No, Ecu sends power to the pump, pump sends fuel, not variable speed or anything special

I bought them used all ready welded and used in a Z31 before me, so unsure of the modifications

the rear coilovers need a hole drilled in the tower, as well as a coilover adapter bought from rttrackpro.com front coilovers require welding the lower cup to the spindle. mind you, when you go all the way low you will have camber. camber correction rcas can be bought from pastpowerparts.com hop this helps

Me too and our schedule is to put headers on it. We have been putting injector cleaner with every High Test gas fill up also. Mine also has 60K miles. We had to replace the Heater Core (which was a b***ch) so be sure to run your heater and air conditioner at scheduled intervals. You absolutely don't ever want to replace that. Had to remove the entire dash--AWFUL. Good Luck with yours!

I just cut a hole to get to my pump lol f**k all that noise dropping the tank.. and after i made a new threaded panel to seal the hole..

That's definitely a faster way of doing it but i didn't want to cut my trunk "floor". Also my gas tank straps/bolts where in good shape i knew i would not have an issue with broken/striped nuts/bolts
