I write this on Tuesday, just got home from the animal shelter. On Sunday I had to surrender my german shep husky named Mason. Beautiful black and tan with the most gorgeous brown and hint of green eyes. He is my best friend still and I have a huge heart for animals and I could barely hand the workers there his leash and saw him look back at me confused on where he was going. I had to surrender him because the house I'm currently residing in has a family member that does not like dogs and made up a story of how the dog attacked her but the poor baby didn't. The owner of the house told me he had to go, I tried pleading but nothing worked. Asking friends and their family members to see if he can stay for a bit while I try to figure out something but no luck. So I had to come to the realization that he had to go back to the shelter, I hated every damn moment of it. It's like he knew that I was taking him back because he's never seen me cry rivers and hug him even tighter than ever. I visited him to see if he was okay and for my own closure as I didn't get a proper bye for now. He was sitting in the same kennel I first laid my eyes on him and instantly knew he was the one that day. With his ears down laying in the corner of the kennel I called his name and he jumped and ran straight to the edge of the fence putting his perfectly shaped snout licking my face like he hasn't seen me in years. I tried my best holding back the tears but I couldn't and just kept saying he was a good boy. He laid on his back and I felt obligated to give him the good ol belly scratches as he loved them. I never really listened to zach bryan for some reason even though I only listen to country music, I get in my car and drive out the lot and my spotify just played the Dj or whatever. Holy Roller by zach bryan coming right up, I will mention I am 19 and already have Tinnitus so I raised the volume a little more to drown it out. And the very first verse I caught and immediately fell in love with this song. My Mason had the most beautiful brown and green eyes like the sides of a mountain, I've never been a man of faith as I always believed that whatever happens in my life is from my doing and no higher up has a touch in that. But I find myself now praying and having some form of hope that I can move out of this place soon and get my boy back.
