Scene of Aerith giving Cloud the White Material is in her church. Also she isn’t wearing her hair ribbon in that scene. The only time it came off was when she was killed. Scene is a spiritual encounter like in the first game that either foreshadows her death or happens right after she gets ganked. Damn. Aerith dies in FF7Rebirth

she has to 'die' in order for the original story to stay in tact, and they've always said that the OG story will exist alongside Remake i imagine the gank is thwarted but she ends up choosing to die or "return to the lifestream" to make things right, all of which will be the big twist of this game that said, we see her and Zach both in Advent Children, suggesting that "death" isn't that final, and all signs point to them tying in Advent Children to the Remake project, so maybe this game explores whatever sort of lifestream "afterlife" exists in the FFVII world

Now, I'm in the minority in that I did NOT appreciate CC's story, and I don't particularly care for Zack, but I'm super curious how this will work out. If the whole "two separate timelines" thing is real, then how would it be even the slightest bit relevant to our adventure? There would have to be some sort of cross-over if it had anything to do with our adventure.

The amount of time they use the phrase "The world will be saved...but will you?" has me theorizing. At first glance the "you" could be referring to Aerith, but then in this trailer she tells Cloud that "This isn't about me though...it's about saving the world...and you." (Spoilers for OG FF7, tho honestly if you don't know about this alrd u been living under a rock) Y'all if they have the GALL to kill off Cloud by the end of this I swear to God. And then make Zack the protagonist for part 3 or something. I mean.... they had the gall to kill off Aerith in the original and most JRPGs don't kill off party members...not permanently that is. So I wouldn't put it past them if they think they gotta one-up themselves. And one-upping the death of a party member can only be the death of the protagonist.

What's interesting is Sephiroth says basically the same line in remake. "I will not have this world end, nor will I have you end" or something close to that. And *demo spoiler*... Sephiroth also says a line in remake that Clouds mother says in the flash back... I think that scene is Sephiroth messing with cloud to get him to turn on aerith..

My theory has been that Cloud will die and Tifa will have to find Cloud in the Lifestream. The OG scene where Cloud is catatonic and they explore Cloud's memory will be in the third game. But this time it will be with the catatonic Cloud that is with Zack being restored. Since there are now two versions of Cloud, only one can be awake and aware. So the one we play with in Rebirth will have to die so the real Cloud can be restored.

If that was the case then every other party member in the timeline we play in Rebirth would have to die too, since I assume there are versions of them too in the other timeline (there is definitely an Aerith). But now that I think about it we did see that clip of everyone in the party dead or at least unconscious from that Shinra News Channel in a trailer. I just assumed it was Shinra fake news at the time, but if that's what happened to them in the "Zack is alive timeline" (for lack of a better term) then it can be assumed that happened BECAUSE they broke off into a different timeline at the end of Remake. It would also explain why Jessie and Biggs are alive in the Zack timeline (there was a clip of Zack speaking to Biggs). That would mean either Cloud dies in the Rebirth timeline, then the other Cloud comes back. Like you said. But that might not happen at all because the one who got him out of the catatonic state on the OG was Tifa. And Tifa is dead in Zack's timeline (where Cloud is still down with Mako poisoning). So will Zack be the one to bring him back instead? Then the Rebirth Cloud might die. But that would also mean the awake Cloud is in a timeline where everyone from the party is in a coma or dead and the only one around is Zack. .... my head hurts lol But yeah you might be on to something there.
