Never has a 4-hour film been so EPIC in it's scope. Zach Snyder gives a masterclass on "pacing." The film is beautiful and engaging. You will laugh. You will cry. You will stand up and cheer. I've seen this more than 5 times and it never gets old or redundant. IMHO, it's a superhero masterpiece. Zach Snyder's DCEU was a collosal achievement but stymied in the end by the execs at WB. If ever a studio "shot themselves in the foot" it was with this movie. Don't even bother watching the garbage that WB/Whedon released back in 2017. Snyder's vision for DCEU was a total contrast to Marvel's Avengers Universe. Superhero genre fans deserve both Marvel's Avenger Universe and Snyder's DCEU. I've never been a Superman fan but rather a Batman aficionado. With that said, Snyder's darker version of The Man of Steel was brilliant. The casting of Ben Affleck as The Dark Knight was one of his best decisions and will go down as one of the best iterations of Batman. I wish Netflix would give Snyder an opportunity to finish his story. While I'm excited for what James Gunn may bring to the new DCU, he will never be able to replicate the story, emotions, and casting that was Snyder's DCEU.

That is a bit extreme, but if this is a success they should figure out why it was changed so much, what reasoning they had, and what data they based it on if any. There goal should be to not repeat such mistakes in the future. I have two theories for this and it all goes to WB executives. 1) too dark. Most likely they were too fixated on the Marvel Success and wanted to have something similar so they hired Whedon to "fix" it. 2) TOO LONG. Nowadays people don't stay for really long movies. Not like 10 years ago where you could see movies like Avatar, The Lord of the Rings or Titanic. So instead of a 4 hour movie, they cut it down to a 2 hours 20 mins (Which obviously resulted with a massive amount of content that had to be cut down.)
