I was an Oakland A’s Spring Training game in AZ, Moved to AZ from Massachusetts, had full sox apparel, jersey, shirt, hat. I was sitting second row on third base line, the A’s ball boy came over and said he’s a die hard sox fan and gave a game used ball. Absolutely loved it. Also probably helped I yelled “root root root for THE RED SOX” during take me out to the ballgame😂

Zack, I like to read your old blog entries on your website. Your 1995 California Angels/Cal Ripken Jr entry is the best! I remember Ripken Mania in August 1995, and he came to Oakland for a series before he broke the record and I got him to sign a ball for me. First of all, you're the guy. In this field of endeavor, you are absolutely the man and you are a face in Major League Baseball. This being said, is there any possible way to save the Oakland A's? There is so much that could be done in terms of community or even to do something outrageous ecologically speaking to keep the stadium going. It's just difficult to be a baseball fan these days because baseball seems to be doing everything possible to kill us off. Keep going Zach.

One slightly different thought though. The fact that nobody cares makes it kind of a sweet experience. AMSR. You can hear the balls hitting the gloves and coming off the bats. I'm sorry if we're not making any money at this but gosh, what a quiet pastoral game. I didn't even know we had such a thing.

@@zackhample I had a crazy thought that we could combine a resurgence of ecology in the region combined with allowing the community to provide the talent for the A's. Maybe it's kind of like the Green Bay Packers, similar colors, in that they are publicly owned. This does not actually create a democratic ownership but, if the community was actually involved as opposed to being only passive to the whims of ownership, this is a vested interest and of course excitement. Let me know if you want to actually talk, Zack. I think we have a lot in common.

3 Stadiums in One Day Challenge: April 3, 2024 = Twins at Brewers (12:10 P.M.) + Braves at White Sox (1:10 P.M.) + Rockies at Cubs (6:40 P.M.), a helpful tip is if you leave from the Milwaukee Downtown Amtrak station there is an Amtrak train that leaves at 1:05 P.M. and you arrive to Chicago Union Station at 2:34 P.M. (that way you avoid traffic), from there take a taxi to Guaranteed Rate Field (Total Distance from Chicago Union Station to Guaranteed Rate Field is 4.3 Miles), Good luck you got this!

I gotta say ive been to around 20 or so A’s games and every time i sat in those sections ive became very very close on getting foul balls multiple, in one game too but never actually got one though he is right on the best chance to get a foul ball in the MLB has to be the coliseum

Great vid as always Z! With the Coliseum and places like Miller Park (it’ll always be Miller Park in my eyes) and Comerica, it must be hard to pick which is truly the best for foul balls! With that said, it’s gonna be super sad to see the Coliseum go. I’m hoping they do final season commemoratives for it since 2024 is its final season, however with how things are in Oakland it’s probably a slim chance.

really seems like that "foul ball club" thing, assuming it's something you give back to the team, is a way for them to have you put in writing that you didn't get hurt, and thus avoid a lawsuit. hence, the questions about medical attention. it actually seems kinda awful.
