Just a quick note, and a big thanks to Saint Jahn for pointing this out to me! With Zada's ability, Soul's Fire actually will only let you target one of your creatures and not the entire team. You can still use this to have one of your pumped up creates deal a lot of damage to one target. I have updated the deck to include Run Amok, which will be very effective in the deck! The Commander's Quarters why does it only work on one what is different in the wording in case other cards are the same

Good question! Zara’s ability only works if the spell targets only Zada. Since Soul’s Fire would require that we target Zada and our opponent or another creature, it wouldn’t work

My friend built me something extremely similar to this deck. I think he replaced the just replaced the manageeks. It's fast and strong. I once played Impact Tremors and used Krenko's Command, Combat Celerant, and Kari Zev's Expertise to play close to 200 goblin tokens in one turn.

I played against someone who ran a Zadra deck. He played krenko mob boss, got 30 goblins, drew 30 cards, and lost to a blue green counters deck. Scared the ever loving shit out of everyone at the table tho.

So I was looking at the card [Seize the Day] in this deck, and I noticed something. Yes, this card gives you an extra combat step for each creature you control, but it only untaps all your creatures just the once. I was thinking you might want to add [Angel's Trumpet] to the deck for the vigilance. This would allow for a MASSIVELY explosive turn - play the trumpet, play Seize the Day, and go off! [Oketra's Monument] and [Hovermyr] are two other interesting vigilance ideas for this deck.

I can only imagine that combo working once, but I think that's all you'd need. Attack with everything, let them all tap, then Seize the Day, then Angel's Trumpet, then attack again multiplying for each creature you control, game win. Ridiculous.

5:51 I'm pretty new to Magic, but this is so cool to me. These card draw spells are super cheap (literally) and they bounce off the commander ability to multiply value. And there are so many of them! I would really like to see your process when deck building. I assume you could comb through red "target creature" cards to piece together a similar deck, but this is something else.

I love the deck tech! My Zada is a little bit different, but I found couple cards I will add from your list. One card I would recommend for upgrade section is Past in Flames maybe even instead of ruby medallion. 80% I cast that card I won the game on that turn or next and sometimes it can help you get back from boardwipes because of all the spells that gives tokens. Btw just found out about channel recently and it has amazing content!

One of my favorite decks to run in the Kingdoms variant for commander. Think my record for this deck was 500+ damage in a single turn. Great deck tech. For budget includes, I'd recommend Dictate of Twin Gods. As a fun include, I'd recommend Indomitable Creativity. Hitting an Ogre Battledriver and a bunch of other creatures can be game ending. For non-budget, Tempt with Vengeance....because reasons.

Awesome decktech - I myself had a Zada EDH deck that was quite similar to this that I later changed to a Tana the Bloodsower + Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker token deck to build around Zada, Mirrorwing Dragon and Ink-treader Nephilim! I will say this though, at 14:59 you recommend Inner Fire as a way Zada can push damage through, but sadly because it targets 2 things (a creature and a player), Zada won't copy it for each creature you control. For this sort of effect, I'd recommend Arcbond (and uh, find a way to give a creature lifelink, perhaps basilisk collar). Chandra's Ignition is also sweet. If the spell targets Zada, but says "each ______" or "you _______", it's fair game!

Meekstone is a good addition. You can swing out with a burst of big monsters that will be small enough to untap on your turn, but your opponents will have to think harder before attacking.

Only thing is, that hits Zada, which personally I wouldn't want to do since her attacking is usually needed.

While I have been testing this I usually keep zada out of the fight unless I am forced to attack with her or if it would be beneficial to do so. I can't seem to overcome the additional mana costs if zada ends up in the command zone again. When zada is sent to the command zone I need her back to do the mass combos and usually if I have to pay the extra two mana I am left with few options. So I guess if you are playing my style (keep the commander out of it) Meekstone is a good addition

Now this deck got me my first wins ever in EDH, and it also introduced me to how ridiculous EDH could be. Drawing several cards off a cantrip, while buffing my whole board, and then attacking for so much damage my opponents just concede on the spot...this is not something I could do in other formats. It was amazing. And all for $15!

Thank you for this deck tech. Definitely going to build this deck. Just found Fists of Flame also. Drawing a card for each creature you control and providing an increasingly massive attack boost on each of them at instant speed for 1R sounds pretty good; if you have drawn one card from your draw step already and you control Zada and four other creatures, you'll draw four cards and pump your team for a total of 2+3+4+5+6=20 damage. Gets even more disgusting if you've already cast say an Accelerate on the team. Think I''ll swap it for e.g. Telim Tor's Edict.

Another fun mechanic for this is cards like Mob Rule and Insurrection, where you can steal opponents creatures for a turn. Not only does this give you potentially huge amount and huge power creatures to swing with, but your opponents have nothing to block with. It's absolutely a game ender and it's very likely to get one since you're drawing so many cards

Just wanted to put in the Purphoros, God of the Forge seems incredible in this deck as a secondary win con. Like if he's out and you can get 20 creatures to enter the battlefield you win, plus he can help push through extra damage with the +1/+0. Plus there's a good chance he'll be a creature and he's indestructible.

I’d be interested in a final section of your vids that is a spotlight on a highly synergistic card that is well out of the budget (the idea being that someone might love the deck and end up wanting to pick it up eventually) so something that’s 15-30$ but makes the deck so much better. I was looking for some of the pieces of this deck in my commons and realized gravatic punch is potentially game winning, dealing damage equal to all your creatures power to target opponent, and thanks to jumpstart you can do it twice!

With a slight variation to this deck, I was able to draw my library on turn 5. I had 69 cards in my hand before losing the game just to prove a point. Like most other decks, this does have glaring weakness that I choose not to address. I like the "eggs in one basket" aspect of it. My nephew has since made an anti-zada deck. Oh the laughs. I made my own spin on him with only commons and uncommon I had laying around. Zada was reprinted in masters 25 at common so I followed the theme. I most of the cards for it but I also put in fireball. Fireball with battle hym/dragonrage= one shot. Emrakul's Hatcher also works. Another thing that's good is spawning bed which is a colorless land that creates bodies in a pinch.

A card that you could add to this deck to help with the large sum of draw power is Spellbook. costs no more than $1 and for 0 gives you no maximum hand size.

Upgrades. To work with Beetleback and impact tremors, Nim Deathmantle, and Ashnots alter. Sac a goblin and the chief to the alter, for 4 colorless and use that many to summon the chief from the graveyard equipped to the death mantle. For 2 more goblin tobys. Also add Hissing Iguanar so when your sacrificing, your pinging away and as creatures are returning to the field. With tremors your still pinging.

A few things you missed in your upgrades list.... This deck obviously needs Purphoros. He's just insane. But considering he's around 20-25 that's literally the whole budget plus some. A card that maybe could have made into your main list is Brightstone Ritual. One red mana for an instant to add red to your mana pool for every goblin on the battlefield. Also, Treasonous Ogre should definitely be in here. He's literally won me games on turn 2 before. Another card I love in Zada is Aetherflux Resovoir. The card is just bonkers.

I played this at my lgs wednesday night commander game but added purforos and coat of arms, sure they more than double the price of the deck but it worked every time.

Okay, I bought this deck out of my reluctance to believe that mono red could be as effective as you made this deck sound. I've only been able to do a few minor tweaks and alterations to the deck so far(hope you don't mind, I had to make the deck my own lol), but I took this deck to magic night with my group recently and I made 6 people SIMULTANEOUSLY scoop because I had drawn half my deck in one turn and was STILL drawing cards and getting mana to drop more cards. It felt like I was playing mono blue or SIMIC colors! Everybody told me to keep going even after they scooped just because they couldn't believe what they were seeing, and wanted to find out just how far I could go...it was NUTS. Way back in my novice beginner days, I played mono red and quickly dropped it cause every game would be the same; I'd start out strong but burn out REAL fast and not be able to hold on and rebuild after. I felt like the creatures were weaker compared to the other colors, so I switched to green. Later I'd flirt with red by using it as a secondary to another colors (Gruul, Izzet etc), but it would never be as anything more than utility. After seeing this commander and playing this deck, I maaay have to admit that I must have just been doing something wrong, because I've never felt like MORE of a magic player than when I was popping off with this deck. In short...I think you've turned me into a red player again, so yeah...keep it up. *Thumbs up* LOL!

I know this video is old but I made a Pauper commander deck with Zada (Commander had to be uncommon at some point) and I love it. Only downside is it doesn't hold up against high power decks if Zada gets removed too many times. Can't really ramp out lands with Red. Also chose to go Goblin Tribal. Currently it sits around $40. Two most expensive cards are Path of Ancestry around $6-7 and Goblin General coming in around $5. Everything else is at or under $2

With that much creatures that make more than one token into play you may use the infinite combo of "Nim deathmantle" and "Ashnod's Altar" in the upgrades

When you have those cards into play plus a creature that put 2 or more tokens you sacrifice one token and the creature in question to the altar to make 4 mana, then use that mana to return the creature with nim deathmantle.

You may also put Myr Battlesphere for more tokens value and some cheap global haste like "anger"

I've been looking forward to build zada as well. Rn, i think storm kiln artist and fists of flame are the best cards for the deck. I cant believe ruby medallion only costs like $5 5 years ago. I should have been into magic earlier lol

this is freakin' sweet! if I got tons of 1/1 like 20 1/1 or 0/1 cast "Otherworldly Outburst" on Zada, then "Rile" pinging them and killing them then VOILA! from 1/1 going to 3/2! this is sweet man! great vid!

My suggestion for an upgrade is library of leng. A 1 mana artifact that not only gives u infinite hand size but if u would discard cards, u can place them on top of the deck instead.

I accidently didn't get a Temils edict when I ordered my cards, and was thinking of putting in Street Riot from guilds in, and then I started thinking of other chards that effect my board, and I started looking. Aggravated Assault would be so freaking good in this deck, it's expensive though. 1 red 3 colourless, pay 2 red 3 colourless, untap all creatures you control, another combat phase, followed by another main phase happens. With how much Mana this deck can get in a turn. You can easily have 3/4 more combat phases. It's messy. It's easily a reasonable upgrade.

Just bought for $22 in 2020 with the exception of basic lands and some of the cheap token makers like dragon fodder and krenko which I already had. My friend group likes to play super expensive decks that require mana fixing and are quite slow and some of us cant afford decks that even come close to competing with them once they get set up so I think I will use this to change our groups meta lol. Still loving the channel by the way Mitch keep it up.

I've always wanted a good Zada deck. I have a lot of really good upgrades for this, so I think I'm gonna go through the list and see what I'm gonna take out for my upgrades and buy everything else(but the lands) in foil 🤔

Weird but crazy effective synergy I found is traitorous greed. You can target zada because of the way it’s worded and it would effectively untap and give haste to all your creatures but also gives you 2 mana of any color for each creature as well

Seize the day gives you an additional combat step for each of your creatures, and has flashback if that somehow isn't enough

also, with soul's fire you can kill two opponents by attacking one and making each of your creatures deal damage equal to their power to another opponent, either during or after combat.

I ran this deck for a while. There are about 20 red cantrips that you can target Zada with, and they're all worth running. But the best card for this deck is Fiery Gambit. With so many creatures on the board you're practically guaranteed to get the "two coin flips" ability at least a couple of times, and if you go all out it's not hard to get the "three coin flips" ability once or twice depending on the number of creatures you have. Every time I was able to cast that card it ended the game.

Here's a fun Zada combo: Seize the Day and Angel's Trumpet (or Akroma's Memorial)....gets you as many extra combats as you have creatures
