When I traveled through picturesque Croatia, I incredibly liked the traditional dish - Zagorje strudels. This is a dish of dough and cottage cheese. She impressed me with her delicate taste and reminded me a little of Ukraine, because in our kitchen sour milk cheese is also used very, very often. This cheesecake has several variations. The formed strudels are sometimes cooked in salted water, and in some cases baked in the oven, pouring cream sauce. I especially like the second option, so we will cook. Believe me, it will be so delicious that you will not notice how Zagorje strudels will disappear from the plates!

Ingredients for cooking
For the dough:
250-300 g of flour (+ 50 g for sawing)
1 egg (+1 for greasing)
100 ml of warm water
1 st. l. vinegar
1 st. l. oil
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of sugar
For the filling:
500 g of sour milk cheese 9%
1 egg
150 g cream
2 st. l. sugar
1 pinch of salt
To fill:
250 ml of 30% cream
1 st. l. sugar
15 g butter (to lubricate the mold)
How to cook Zagorje strukli step by step recipe
For the dough, mix 250-300 g of wheat flour, 1 egg, 100 ml of warm water, 1 tbsp. l. oil, 1 pinch of salt and 1 pinch of sugar. Pour 1 tbsp. l. vinegar. Knead a tight thick dough and leave for a few minutes while we prepare the filling.
For the filling, mix in a large bowl 500 g of cottage cheese, beat 1 egg and add 2 tbsp. l. sugar. I advise you not to grind the cheese so that the grain structure remains.
Add 150 g of sour cream and 1 pinch of salt to the filling. Mix everything thoroughly.
Roll out the dough into a very, very thin layer, almost until transparent, and be careful not to tear it.
Spread the filling on the dough, dividing it into 6 equal parts. Spread so that there is enough dough left from the edges to wrap.
Roll the dough on both sides from the edges to the center, completely covering the filling.
Slightly press the dough and flatten the pads slightly. Using a rolling pin, carefully make the distance between the strudels.
Divide the strudels into portions with the blunt side of the knife blade.
Grease a baking dish with 15 g of butter and spread the strudels in a circle.
To pour, mix in a bowl 250 ml of cream with 1 tbsp. l. sugar.
Pour the strudel with cream and bake at 180 degrees for 40-50 minutes, until ruddy crust. After 20 minutes, grease with egg and continue to bake.
It's easy to cook!
