That's actually obvious consequence of a trend. Whole Genshin is simply about increasing dps. There is a point when more dps means you can abandon survivability completely. And actually, if you are dying, often the solution can be not more survivability, but the opposite - abandoning it for more dps... Bloom self-damaging is so much discussed, but I've never heard anyone clearly pointing out it's real significance, that is bringing different correlation and dynamics: more dps - more survivability needed, in context of how Genshin works in general.

I would not use deepwood on Nilou. Her aura will NOT trigger deepwood off field. You aren't going to hit every enemy except maybe with her burst, and then no more deepwood from her aura is oof for deepwood coverage.

Something overlooked for bloom self damage is how much of your rotation you are spending in I-Frames from bursts. It's reasonable to spend up to 5 seconds in these animations per rotation. Character's like Nahida and Ayato in particular have bursts worth casting that take good advantage of this.

It's not the case with Nahida. Her ult doesn't apply element, and her skill procs only on reaction, so to get blooms you need actively NA by her or otherwise you don't bring any dendro at all. And since we're talking about ult animation, you don't create any blooms to dodge there.

I'm just surprised when people say they are having trouble with Nilou's blooms self damage, I have cleared Abyss floor 9-12 using Nilou, Collei, DMC and Kokomi and I haven't had any trouble with bloom self damage even on more squishy units like Collei, I even use this team on a daily basis and not a single time my units have died because of bloom self damage, sounds more like a player issue rather than a comp issue in my opinion, but well, that's personal experience. On a side note, Nilou's AoE potential is extremely strong (maybe the strongest so far) if you can properly make the enemies stack by themselves, overall is a really unique unit albeit extremely restrictive, but I would rather have unique units with their own playstyle than having just another hydro applicator like most people wanted her to be. lol

I dont know if you know this but you dont need to do the triple E tranquility aura to get the golden chalice's bounty effect. You can literally do E and press 3 normals in the air if you will and it will put you in that state for 30 seconds flat (you dont even need to hit anything). When youre in the golden chalice state, you can see small wispy water bubbles around your characters. In that way, you dont get the tranquility aura and it doesnt yoink blooms off of your on-fielder. Long story short: you dont need C1 if you play her like a buffer Shenhe. It is mostly targeted for vape nuking. Cheers 👍

Nilou can still easily have decent bloom damage with full HP build, this is how I got 59k hp 787 EM so far on Nilou(with Nahida it will be closer to 1037 EM) without her signature weapon since I lost the 50/50 to a freaking book: 2pc Milileth 2pc Wanderers. HP% sands, goblet, circlet. Some hp%, flat hp and em substats on the artifacts overall. Iron Sting, hydro resonance, dendro resonance, Nilou's E passive, Traveler's Q passive, Instructor on Collei. The problem is that it still doesn't feel good to on field Nilou, because Collei and Traveler die very easily so I end up having to use on field EM Barbara anyway. Not a Kokomi haver. Still I'm having lots of fun, love Nilou.

Good video but I feel there are so many unresolved important issues. I don't get what's the point on prioritizing EM on substats/weapon alternatives if she's supposedly the opener of the rotations and won't trigger blooms, if you summon her hydro aura then you're hindering your own team's damage as she will be "stealing" reactions from the other hydro built with full EM. I believe an example on the way this rotation works would help a lot... There aren't examples of rotations of on-field Nilou on the trusty TC socials so it is all very confusing, and why would KQM recommend Sac Sword if Nilou on-field is a sub-optimal build (due to HP prioritizing) and there's no point on using this sword off-field, same with the EM weapons since minimizing your Nilou bloom triggers is recommended on the rotations. Fav is also widely recommended but you won't be getting the CR from resonance, passives, weapons or circlet making it really difficult to trigger, neither ER is important if her ultimate isn't worth due to low investment (could be even worse to cast it according to Zajef and other TCs, why is it then recommended to use it every other rotation over not using it at all?). All of this making Fav look mediocre at best. Thanks if anyone can bring insight on any of those.

I’m dubious. The problem with Nilou is that she is inflexible. She’s more like Itto imo. Locked to one optimal playstyle. She’s never gonna be good against single target with just bloom and she needs a unit that can group enemies to be consistent. Problem is only anemo units are grouping/cc enemies and that seems to be the trend that’s unlikely to change unless you count Yelan’s elemental skill as grouping. Even if we get a hydro/dendro grouper, she’d still be bad vs single target. Don’t forget because of how bloom works, you also have to be careful of how and who triggers the bloom and who shouldn’t trigger the bloom.

Nilou's performance in bloom comps looks like an aoe Childe + Xiangling team, except you'll keep Bennett and Xiangling for your secondary team. You won't have access to anemo's cc, but Nahida's E link and bountilful cores huge aoe kinda compensate for that. XQ might be necessary in some bloom comps, but we have a second 5* XQ now, so it's not really an issue. (except if you want to play Hu Tao + double hydro supp comp). It's the same situation as Mono Geo. The comp does well without breaking the game, but the fact it can do that without using Bennett or others broken meta units is already a win, imo. That's something that's very underlooked with TC in general. Meta is most exclusively for the abyss, therefore it's not only about 4 characters but more about 8 (2x4).

But isn't Childe+xiangling also an aoe comp? I mean, single target is one of Childe's main drawbacks. I think it's not good to compare bountiful blooms to International anyways, because one is strictly aoe while the other can function quite well outside of aoe and can even be used in speedrunning. International also doesn't suffer from lack of grouping (despite its main carries having large AOEs on their attacks just like in Nilou teams) nor does it have to worry about copious amounts of self damage

for sub 1k/low EM dendro bloom trigger nilou team, why would you be worried it doesnt do high dmg. For example, in hutao vape teams, your reverse vape being "low" dmg cause xingqiu builds for Q up time not dmg to guarentee hydro gauge for hutao CA vape. Isn't that the same purpose of dendro units in bloom, not to have super high EM to make high dmg "reverse" blooms(dendro on hydro = 1seed). Instead have Q up on cooldown (DMC) or on field catalyst dendro (nahida) to max dendro gauge up time so you can "normal" blooms with hydro (hydro on dendro = 2 seeds). Sure youll get a few "reverse" blooms but thats the quality of life needed to make sure you can max hydro on dendro bloom. Plus nilou and nahida already team buff ~350 EM and maybe an instructors set 120EM youll probably get like 18-22k bountiful blooms with your "reverse blooms" which isnt too bad compared to 1000-1500EM "normal" bountiful blooms at 30K+ if you ask me.

An additional note on the self damage from bloom, as we get more supports for bloom and we get stronger blooms we'll actually take more self damage so as you invest more into damage you make things harder for yourself like what if you get nahida c2? Now the self damage will be even higher cause those blooms now have 100%cd and add on that new bloom artifact set and I wouldn't be surprised to see a nilou teams use two healers or a healer + shielder in the future.

Oh no no you misunderstand. That's not how it works. Things that affect bloom damage don't effect self damage other than base bloom damage. So if nilou c2 reduces Res, which increases her bloom damage, that doesn't reflect on the self damage, same with nahidas crit ability. The only thing that matters for self damage is the base bloom damage which can only increase with em and nilou hp.

Keep in mind that C2 Nahida is realistically just a 20% bonus dmg only for cores and with higher dmg potential for Nilou, the harder it'll be to keep your team alive. Also, the Spiral Abyss will not get any harder, so you might not even need the extra dmg increase. If you're still pulling, go ahead (I can't believe I still have to say this...)

She might miss out on some Healing ticks, but she also dodges some Bloom Self Damage too since she switches in and out for a significant part of the rotation. Although whether you actually need to add a Barbara on top of Kokomi or not is probably something that needs to be play tested anyways. Other than that, great video :)

Listen to what he said a bit more carefully. Essentially, he stated that with Nahida/triple hydro, the most of your blooms will be generated while she's on-field while your healing abilities are distributed across your entire rotation. Thus, Nahida will be taking the majority of the available "pool" of bloom self-damage while only taking maybe half of the duration of available on-field healing. I might be missing something, but it just seems to be an unfortunate way for things to line up.

I think he meant that generally when she switches out you are setting up the rotation again and in that phase you have less blooms going on, while Kokomi's jelly uptime is 100%, so the balance is slightly in favor of the damage.

But from the logs (ST Nilou Kokomi XQ Nahida), 13 blooms happen when Nahida is on field, whereas 12 happen when she's off field. I think it's just a bit ingenuine to say that she's tanking all of the blooms because she's on field the majority of the time, while not getting all the healing because she's switching in and out. From the logs you see that she's only taking 13 bloom damage out of the 25.

Slightly disagree about not using burst on Nilou. My Nilou with Key, EM substats (artifacts main stats are all HP/HP/HP) and Dendro Resonance has 819 EM. With Nahida Burst active, assuming she has 1,000 EM, my on-field Nilou EM will reach 1,069 EM. That's ridiculous. So no, using her burst can you extremely beneficial, especially if you lack Hydro application as a result of overwhelming Dendro application (Traveler burst + Nahida E).

I have Nilou,kokomi, Dendo mc and colli. I’m planning on swapping colli for dendro archon. With my team full buffed no food..So far I have 73k hp and 877 em on Nilou. 40k hp 808 em kokomi, dendro mc has 903 em and colli has 1203 em… there is so many ways to artificially boost em now that effects the whole party it’s quite easy now. So it doesn’t matter who proc bloom everyone hits hard bloom. I use the key r1 on Nilou with 2 piece milinith 2 piece wonders troop. Kokomi&colli is new em set forgot name and main character is deepwood. So far I clean everything up and dendro archon looks like a potential em buffer to the team hopefully better than colli. Kokomi is a awesomeness healer especially with r5 prototype amber so no one can die except my foes

i tried vape a little and didnt like it much, but mono hydro, freeze and taser are pretty fun and decently strong, ofc a lot less than bloom but cleared abyss 12 9* under 1 min each chamber, so still decent performance.

The whole reason why fridge was a thing is bc you needed the enemies to stay in place long enough for the bloom cores to explode. Nilou’s passive makes the core explode instantly in a bigger AOE. Her passive makes a joke of fridge. That will forever be a meme build. I truly don’t get why people pretend that Nilou having a PHD in bloom is a bad thing. I hope they understand that future bloom units are gonna revolve around her and Nahida’s passives.

I’m going to run DMC+Nahida+Barbara(Will swap out with Komi once I get her TuT)+Nilou(Of course) Plus, there’s a lot of room for improvement(Artifact set 😉) in the future with more Dendro units for Nilou. So, Nilou is an investment for future characters to make her shine more. The same exact thing happened to Komi, at first everyone skipped her because they didn’t see her as valuable because there are a few healers already in game. Plus, they were like: “Why would I need a healer? When I already have Zhongli to shield me?” mindset at that moment of time(As we’ll as, Baal banner made Komi even a bigger skip) Of course as time went on, Komi became more valuable because how good of a healer she is and most importantly, how flexible she was. That being said, Nilou won’t be as flexible as Komi was but she will improve more in time. Who knows 🤷‍♂️ We might get a Dendro healer(s) being 4 or 5 star characters with great healing.

The saving grace of not having anemo is that 1) not being able to group enemies make u less susceptible to wasting the staggering bloom mechanic of nilou 2) i get the healing part but, essentially, aside from hraling and grouping, anemo doesnt help with anything in that team 3) I honestly believe that nilou is a way of hoyoverse to say to the players "pull her if u dont have skill issue otherwise dont". Coz u need to know much of the games mechanic and even enemy mechanic to utilize her

I think the best team to achieve balance in a nilou team between single target and AoE would be. (As dps nilou) Nilou(damage build for single target) Xinqui(damage build for single target) Healer on clam(barbs, kokomi, yao) Nahida Cause nilou bloom teams(em focused) already does too much damage on AoE to the point where it's unnecessary so transferring that damage too single target would be great. And I hope that's exactly what zejef tries to test in his next nilou video where he finds the most optimal way to balance the single target and AoE damages in a nilou team.

ok so I have a question about the recommended team composition for Nahida. I do not own Nilou & won't be able to use neither Nilou nor Kokomi on a team with Nahida. I know you mentioned in one of your other videos that Nahida's best team setup is a Bloom team. are there any other recommendations you have for compositions in this case Zajef? with regards to the possibility that Nahida Bloom teams will need protection to avoid from dying, is adding Zhongli into the team a stupid move to make? something like Nahida + Zhongli + Hydro + Hydro or Nahida + Zhongli + Hydro + Dendro? I really do hope that Nahida's team choices are not as limited as Nilou's.

If you play Bloom without Nilou, you can get really wild with teams. Zhongli, Nahida, XQ/Yelan, Kazuha Ganyu, Nahida, XQ/Yelan, Kazuha Kokomi, Nahida, XQ/Yelan, Kazuha ... and so on. And if you are not sure about Nahida Teams, I highly recommend watching the 2x 30mins Zajef has on Nahida. But tl;dr if you like Dendro reactions, she basically fits in *any* Dendro team very well.

Just for the record, regarding on her banner sales, its actually not doing bad. The graph shown in the video is not the per day thing but rather until the current. Per day banner sales correlates it to other banners regarding their respective sales on Day 1, 2, 3 of ther banners etc. Currently on same day count, its doing better than Ayaka's first banner which is quite good imo.
