Question for you, I have been to the shop in Detriot. I met up with Fran. Why am I seeing a few more SL-C for sale? Can it be the ride, the noise in the cabin? So, if you were to have spinal issues, not the old man version, but 5 or more surgeries, would you build and drive this car? I have had all the paperwork for this car, but I was uneasy not knowing if I could tolerate building it. The next thing with all the issue's health wise could I drive it for 4 to 5 hrs.? New subscriber to the channel and I LOVE Superlite SLCs! I wonder if you could use a C8 transaxle in these? I've driven stickshift cars and trucks most of my life but if I ever came into enough money I'd love to build or have someone like you build it but I know I'd drive it more if it was automatic like the C8's. Amazing cars on the channel (I saw the new video with the GT-R and this video so far)!

The Tremec TR8090 from a C8 isn't an "automatic transmission" that operates like a 6L80E or 8L90Ee. The transmission designation looks more like a Tremec manual transmission, and it operates internally like two separate manual transmissions, with the PCM controlling two separate clutches, one for the even gear and one for the od gears. The PCM also controls the shift forks electronically. But there's shift forks, synchronizers (or dog rings) and clutch(es), just like a manual transmission. If you could get a complete C8 (possibly a wreck with severe front end damage), you could use the entire powertrain with the C8 PCM.
