Zak .. I am so delighted to have found your channel. I will soon be sharing my life with a cockapoo puppy & found your series with Kona whilst searching the breed. I became really invested in Kona's progress, what an incredibly bright little mamma she is, not so little now though! 🤣 What a beauty. I appreciate the way you deliver training instructions both to the training dog & to us the viewer's, your methods are fantastic & your sense of humour is wonderful. Thank you so much .. Am looking forward to following along with Moira's training next. Thanks also to Bree for her contributions xx

Yes, a neighbor just gave up a similar dog, a golden doodle. They need a lot of exercise, and funny how many people just don't get how unwilling they are as a family unit to get outside and play. We have 2 smaller poodle mixes, 20ish lbs. I do so love big dogs, but realistically, we are in our 50s and even though I love to be outdoors every day, with my back issues getting worse with age, I can no longer give large dogs the kind of exercise they need. Our cockapoo and mini bernedoodle are just the right size for our family.
@MsJMac723 жыл бұрын
@@camouflagejumpsuit I'm bringing home a cockapoo pup at the beginning of March. Previously I've always shared my life with larger dogs (Irish Setters) & can relate to your mentioning age/back issues as contributory factors when choosing a new furry friend.
@camouflagejumpsuit3 жыл бұрын
@@MsJMac72 oh how sweet, good luck with the new pup! Mine was a bit hyper for the first six months and as soon as I taught her "wait" she understood to slow down and try to communicate with me. She is super smart and is quite a handful. A total cuddly lapdog and bossy as heck. The tiny bernedoodle is bit much for me (now living alone with two dogs) because he has BDE big dog energy, combined with a vigilant nature and hyperactive little body and mind. Honestly now that I have one, I don't think it's fair to the mountain dog to be bred that small. He is like a giant redwood living in the body of a delicate flower. If your cockapoo needs a friend mine gets on well with bichons and yorkiepoos, breeds that are sized and temperent similar to cockapoos IMO. My cockapoo loves learning tricks and performing. My tiny bernie would be amazing on an agility track, but his wobbly joints do concern me. The other day he jumped clear over a park bench, landed on ice, and made a hard right never slowing down. My heart was in my mouth.

I absolutely loved watching the series with Kona, I'm even more excited for your new series with Moira!! My dog is reactive as well, we've been working on her reactivity since she was about 7 months old and she's now 19 months. A full year of training and she's come so far!! Can't wait to see how you it goes with Moira! Reactivity is so common and people need to know there are humane ways of getting your dog out of that mindset and actually correcting the behavior. Thank you for taking on such a challenge, Zak!

Kona is so big, beautiful and smart!! I couldn't believe what my 12 week old Aussiedoodle, Levi, just did when I projected the video to my television to watch. OMG! Kona looks like she might already be bigger than Inertia! I was hoping we would get an update on how she is doing. Thanks for sharing! I'm sure Kona was as happy about seeing Zack and she was about the treats. I suspect her happiness over seeing Zack again was every bit as distracting as anything else in the park. I love the way she prances as she walks beside Zack. 🧡 I'm glad to see your next series will be with a more challenging dog. I suspect that most people who are searching for dog training on KZbin have much more challenging cases than Kona, or even Inertia. In my opinion, Kona is exceptionally intelligent and eager to please.

Zac thank you so much for setting me on the right path with my pup! She is 3.5 now and such a settled, polite well behaved and happy dog. I think the only thing of yours I didn’t do were time outs - I always redirected and prevented instead. We couldn’t be happier with her and the joy she brings to our lives. My chocolate lab is a lot like Kona personality wise. Very smart, very aware of the environment (she's a field lab) and on the more cautious side. She does the whole bit of "boofing" at things that suddenly enter the environment. It's gotten better, but we do still work on it. One of the things I like best about your videos is the "real" situations where you see these behaviors that most people (myself included) would get nervous about. It helps to normalize them and allows us pet parents to understand better.
