“Not every dog is optimized to play with every dog.” Thank you for making that point Zac!! I think it’s sometimes unrealistic to expect a dog to get along and play well with every single dog out there. They’re not perfect. That’s like expecting a human being to get along with every single person out there. Just not realistic 😂
@Rachel-mq4yj4 жыл бұрын
Kawaiii. AeRo first of all, please learn to use punctuation marks. Secondly, notice how I said “sometimes unrealistic.” I didn’t say “unrealistic 100% of the time,” did I? While I think I understand what you’re trying to say about service dogs, it’s not exactly a great point because not every dog can BE a service dog. They specifically look for a certain temperament for service dogs. Training is necessary, yes, but every dog has a different temperament and to expect all dogs to get along with every single dog out there is just unrealistic and not very fair to them. 👍🏼

@J D he also knows how to get a dog to rip off the ear of a pig, how to get bitten by a dog that was sending clear signals she was going to bite way before doing it and how to make a husky collapse on the street by lifting him from the ground with a chocke chain around his neck

I love that you clarified just because it says in training doesn’t mean it’s a service dog I see loads of people with in training or do not pet on there dog because they might not like other dogs and then everyone attacks them because a service dog shouldn’t do that when the dog isn’t a service dog
@jaydashnine4 жыл бұрын
This was my first time seeing a dog with a labelled vest on that wasn't a service dog. To be honest, I would probably assume the dog was a service dog too. Is this common in the USA?
@katk75054 жыл бұрын
@@jaydashnine in the us people are a lot more likely to stop you on the street to pet your dog and interrupt training because Americans are a lot more social with strangers than in most other countries, lol.

I love this series because it goes from showing a distracted puppy who nips and doesn't understand her owners cues, and proves that patience and repeated training can lead to this to this!!! I have an 11 week old beagle pup and ohhhhh my goodness I forgot how much work goes into raising one (haven't had a pup in 15 years, just lost a fur baby in Dec.). I put the little land shark to bed in his crate tonight about at the end of my rope with him, watched this episode and have renewed resolve to keep at the training....its going to be well worth it!:)

She’s really come far! I’ve been doing similar training with my dog lately, since he’s improved a lot, as well (he’s a Mini American Shepherd). I’ve been going to Home Depot to do sit/stays, down/stays, place, and some heel work, too. I do use a more balanced training process, but honestly, there’s a lot in common to what you’re doing here, just includes some mild correcting as a “tap on the shoulder” when needed, but also being fair to allow them to have some small time to sniff things, sit and just watch things, etc. Threshold training is part of it, too. Our relationship has improved doing it this way (for my dog). We’ve been doing Petco recently, too, and that’s harder, but we’ve made progress. Going to busier parks has been a big help, too. At this point, when we go to agility class, I put him in a down stay to set up his crate and then to collapse it and even without a prong, he checks on me periodically for feedback. I don’t need as much food. Just a “good” makes him happy. 😊 Though I use a balanced training method, I like watching these to follow you with Inertia and see the progress she’s been making. Looking forward to watching more.
