Your process is very logical and methodical. I am going to try marking the circles as you have, as the pattern progresses. I have drawn them all at the beginning and you're right, it does make it harder to make the pattern have organic proportions, not to mention how it gets messy. Thanks for the tutorial.

Wow! First time watching a detailed mandala of yours from start to finish. You are extremely talented. I find even your simple compass drawings so meditative and calming. I found your KZbin channel looking up sacred geometry. I wanted to learn more about it. It is so fascinating to me. I have always seen the world in patterns. I think unknowingly I was looking for harmonious lines and shapes. I have found only a couple individual sacred geometry videos that I found helpful for historical, spiritual, cultural meanings/understanding. Who do you recommend to learn about sacred geometry in depth, or through the ages? Any book you love? Keep on inspiring us. Love your channel.

Thanks Colleen, I haven't read many books on the subject, to be honest I haven't made it all the way through any but I would recommend Jain 108, he's really good at explaining things. 🙏🏻

Thank you Zak. I noticed the name change, and wondered if I was in the right channel. Then I saw your photo. My cheap Helix compass is cracking so time to buy a metal one. Saw your links to Amazon for yours. Thanks so much. Keep on creating.

@@ZKorvin Yes, this plastic one has to go. I have an old school metal one, but it doesn't stay on the radius setting. There is no locking the radius in place. What I really have trouble with it is the center "pin point" doesn't seem to hold its place. I get part way around, and it slips. I hope a new one with a lock helps. Thanks for the well wishes. Same to you and your channel.

Hi Zak, why do you freehand the circles in the flower of life instead of using a ruler? You do use a ruler for the larger circles. I find freehanding circles freaking hard. And I usualy fail at it.. 😊 Thanks for the great tutorial!

It pretty much just depends what mood I'm in. I like the look of small freehand circles but larger freehand circles always look a bit off to me. I don't know how to explain it!

Great work as always! I was wondering how you determine what line thickness to use and how thick you actually make the thickest ones? Cheers!
@ZKorvin4 жыл бұрын
Good question. It's always different, I just go with whatever feels right, towards the end I'll take a step back and think, that line needs to be thicker, maybe to add some contrast to a certain area. I know that doesn't really answer your question but it's just something you have to judge for yourself. Cheers!

@@ZKorvin so I tried a few of your tutorials and found that if I place the center of the first circle in the middle of the paper and use roughly a third of the height of the paper as the diameter for this circle the full mandala will fit on the page!
