I have a 500 Mb speed internet service and a NETGEAR ORBI RBR50 mesh Wi-Fi network. With this internet speed, would it make sense to change to Wi-Fi 7, considering a small 2-story house? Or would it just mean wasting money?

Do any of them have true firewall security features beyond the basics? Probably not. I went for a newly introduced AP7 mesh add-on to my Firewalla router system I've run for over 5 years. Real FW features like VLANs, VqLANs, active protection, ad blocking, smart queue and whole house VPN client/server to name a few. You can build this system for about what these other AP7 systems go for and have much greater security and capabilities. You need a Firewalla Purple or Gold FW, plus the AP7 access point(s) that fully integrate with the FW. I have the Gold Firewalla and 2 AP7s... costing me ~$1200.
