The whole series did an amazing job with depicting some of the massive beings that Kratos fought and interacted with along the way. The size of Cronos, Jörmungandr introduction and the way it speaks, the way Hercules looks so tall and imposing right before they fight were so well done I can't think of any other way to do it.

Clearly, Gaia is referring to the Temple here because of its massive and elaborate nature, not Cronos. Cronos couldn't give a fuck who went after Pandora's Box hence he responded to the horn. In fact, one may argue that Cronos (and the Titans, in general) has everything to gain by letting a warrior climb up the Temple in search of Pandora's box given that should said warrior acquire the power to kill a God, the Titans' ambition to see a world without the Gods may be realised.

What I thought was really interesting was that they originally planned kratos to be running away from cronos as he “chases” you for a bit until eventually passing you where you would then enter the temple. I say “chase” because really kratos was just in his path way. You would die if he trampled over you, so it was like a timed parkour section that definitely would’ve been really cool to see. Sad it couldn’t have made it in due to it being difficult with his size of a model and how different programming was back then
