Being welcomed into my girlfriend's family from Kiribati has been a blessing filled with many amazing experiences of family tradition, pacific island culture and a unique adventure in the ocean.
I flew out with Kim Yap from Hawai'i, to Marshal Islands, to Tarawa Atoll apart of Kiribati. This is were we spent the next week exploring the atoll and celebrating Kimberly's grandmother's 70th birthday with near 80 of her family members that came from all over the world to be together for this "Botaki", or celebration!

How do you access these first world services? The videos I keep seeing show little infrastructure or amenities yet you see nice vehicles on the roads and stuff. It's hard to piece together where to go etc. Who owns these nice pleasure craft and stuff?
