"Iloilo" came from its old name "Irong-Irong" which means Nose ("irong" is an Ilonggo word for nose), because if you see on the map, the Iloilo province is shaped like a nose. I came from Iloilo, hope you will love the vibes of the City of Love, my beloved home. Oh btw, when taking taxis in Iloilo, you don't have to haggle unlike in Manila. The taxis there are far more organized and drivers can be more trusted. In fact, while in Iloilo, it's better to take a taxi than Grab(and I own 4 cars for Grab rentals there even while I'm here in Dallas, TX). The local gov't there has more far-sightedness in their city planning than the rest of the country, and it also extends to their taxi services. I have worked for the Dutch gov't for 20+ years in regard to city planning and it seems, only Iloilo so far knew what their doing.

I'll initially be staying for the month at One Spatial condos (pictured in the background @ the 30:15 mark in the video just before you 'availed' the Carpenter's Bridge, lol). Thanks for the walking tour because as you likely know Google's streetview and satellite view is around 7-8 years outdated. Satellite shows back when they were just breaking ground on the condo I mentioned and so that was 2017. It's great to get a current idea of how things are looking today. It was indeed heart-warming to experience the consistently sweet reception you received from so many locals during your first day there.
