That water at shipwreck beach won’t stay clear forever with all those boats roaring in every day

I was here 35 years ago, the only boat at shipwreck beach, no viewing platform and few people.

I have been going to Zante on & off since 87 and although its still a great place, its just to busy now. Been ruined. Just look at that shipwreck beach.

Going there for the first time in the summer, was going to go to shipwreck beach and the viewpoint but after seeing this I’m not going to bother.... queuing for a selfie of the beach.... no thanks and the beach looks like an ants nest with people , think I’ll take the kids to the water parks instead

Drive to Porto vromi and take small boat 20 mins or so to shipwreck. Stay 1 hour and go back to your car and drive home. Beats being on overcrowded boats all day. Drive to viewpoint early wont be as many people there and the beach is not packed so better pictures. I know how to do this cos I've been holidaying there since 1987 and I lived there for 5 years too.

Hey,I was wondering if it’s ok if I could ask you a few questions considering you lived there.I’m thinking of going in July of this year with a group of friends around 20-22 years old and I was wondering if Zante and specifically laganas is a good place for young people - I’ve read it is and I’ve watched some videos but I was wondering with Covid is zante a ghost town or is zante only half full now etc…because we’d want to go when everything is in full swing.I see videos advertised on KZbin but you can’t really trust them ya know.So just based off of your experience do you think zante is worth the visit and money and I ask this because where I live zante is far and quite expensive to fly too so I just wanted to ask around and try and do some independent research before I made any decision and in your opinion is laganas A nice town or a bit dirty or not so clean or nice ?like not appealing to the eye or is that because of all the young ppl? Thanks 😊💙

@@emmasmith1381 hi I've not lived in Zante now for 10 years . My experience of laganas is that it is very much a young person's resort without a doubt. In July it is usually packed to the rafters with lots and lots of bars and nightclubs. If I'm honest I wouldn't be able to say what it's like now with covid . I know that I'm disappointed with the Greek government for mandating jabs for over 60s as Greece was supposed to be the birthplace of democracy. Laganas has its reputation just as faliraki, Malia, kavos etc have had in the past . It's had its share of controversy too. If you are all out and out party people going out at 10pm until 6am then staying in laganas is for you but be careful just as you would be anywhere, spiking drinks has been known to happen. Don't want to put you off but I'm just giving you good advice of my experience of living there and the stories I heard whilst I was there. Zante is a beautiful island so if you do go have a great time just don't get paraletic every night as it will spoil the days where you could be visiting much nicer parts of the island. So in a nutshell, yeah if partying is the only thing you want out of an holiday then laganas is the place, no other resort will give you that , I would imagine even with covid that it will be very busy in July but be wary that there might be restrictions in place like having to wear a mask in the hotel or shops and such so check on this .
