Great info for people wiring a recording studio or project studio. I installed (many years ago) a Star Ground system in my studio. All units in the audio racks are isolated from each other as well as the audio cable grounds. The audio ground on rack gear are supplied via the star ground system and also the AC grounds are also isolated form the rest of the building with a dedicated grounding rod just for the recording studio behind the building. I am rewiring my studio currently, (putting all my rack gear behind the console) and all this comes back to me what I learned years ago from a tech from D&R when I had bought a D&R Orion In-Line Console for my studio. My new studio setup will be a Hybrid Studio with both an analog and digital console sitting side by side. The star ground system is a lot of work (I soldered all the cables myself to save on cabling), but it is really worth the effort... All the best from NJ and great that you're sharing the information. What about the chassis of rack equipment tops and bottoms? The racks I have they are touching

That depends on the orientation of the isolation lugs. They can be positioned to prevent that. Sorry it took so long for me to respond!
