Inspector Gadget 2 is SUCH cheesy shlocky fun. Way better than 1 in my opinion and far better at keeping the spirit of its cartoon roots. Hope you enjoy it when you get around to checking it out.

I remember inspector gadget was a long line of DiC shows that shout factory only released one volume of then stopped.... I'm also pretty sure that one volume cost about the same as I paid for the Megaset years later lol. Luckly other companies like mill creek and whoever released this picked up the slack! Great review and even though I grew up in the 90s I loved watching gadget in reruns.

@@zaranyzerak The one thing I never liked about the DVD release of "Inspector Gadget 1999" is letterboxed. Meaning it was in its original Widescreen ratio, but it isn't properly resized to accurately fit a 16:9 display.

I was misinformed about Gadget's Field Trip, I thought it was just repeats of the old show that took place in different countries, re-branded for home video release. That's why I didn't mention it. I've since learned it was a short lived educational series, with Don Adams once again voicing Gadget, so I guess I'll have to track it down! And I had no idea there was another Gadget Boy series...I'll pass on that, the first was just...painful.

I watched Inspector Gadget reruns on Nickelodeon in the late 80's to early 90's (1987-1992; it was still locally syndicated at the same time), and again later in the 90's to the start of the 2000's (1996-2000), CBS as part of its Saturday morning cartoon lineup in the early 90's (1991-1992), The Family Channel (pre-Fox Family) in the early to mid 90's (early 1993-1995), syndicated reruns via Bohbot Entertainment in the early to mid 90's (early 1993-1994, and on Fox Family (and later ABC Family) in the early 2000's (2001).

Gadget Boy season 2 did get a DVD release which I own. I also own the entire 80's series on DVD. I left the movies as is lol. Wish the 2012 series would get some kinda of release.

The only inspector gadget I like is the og one where Frank welker voiced claw and brain. Frank had a intimidating voice for claw. Not to mention the amazing OST.

Wait did your copy of "Inspector Gadget 1999" come with a slipcover? EDIT: Oh wait no that was just the DVD guide. Also the film came out in July 1999, not June 1999.

Not a fan of Gadget Boy Anx Heather huh?........ahhhh its okay. Saw it for the first time over a year ago. Fun fact the voice actress for Heather went on to voice Penny in the 2015 reboot
