The real meaning behind Harry calling Zayn an Zebra, unseen moments from backstage. The reason i feel they weren't allowed to talk about it is because in both boys album they talk about not being able to talk about it not being able t be with someone and not being able to resist, scilene. If they were talking about i dont know, Perrie? Zayn wouldn't have to hide it and try to resist and not talk about it. Harry talks about being left alone, needing to continuously dodge the bullets which zayn also refrences. Now im full aware and prepared for Larry to send hate and say that Harrys songs are in fact all about louis, then ok if they were about Louis thats fine. Though the fact Zayn and Harry are pretty much explaining the same story, similar lyrics, not to mention Harry's 'just a little bit of your heart' Zayn took the chorus and named his song 'fool for you'. So with all the evidence and proof i'd lean towards not about Louis.

I grew up with different boy bands, and it was pre-internet. I understand y'all having passion for these guys, but every move they make is scrutinized so intensely. To some degree, they were children thrust into almost overnight fame...and not notoriety, but teen girl, hardcore, worldwide FAME. photos snapped everywhere of their every moment. They grew up together, they learned to handle fame, paparazzi, the media, fans, stalkers. I'm sure they all feel an intense bond simply because they're in a position that very few people attain, and the only people they can truly confide in, who truly understand what their life is like, is each other. I cannot imagine having pics and vids taken without my knowledge being scrutinized.... my every mannerism, all of my interactions... maybe one day we'll find out something about one of them that goes against their overall narrative, but I'm not gonna speculate on their private lives.

You are def. On the right track with this one. Although i don't believe management had to intercede this time around . With larry, the reason why it got so out of hand was because management let it go on, some would say that they played it up, mehh potato/potatoe but they did it because they know that teenage gurls and women find it sexy to see two guys be intimate with each other. That's a fact! And also really good business because what happened was it created a whole secondary fan base, fans who loved seeing these boys climb and grope each other who weren't neccesarily fans of the "band" per say but shxt went left and got a little complicated when people started noticing that louis was getting irritated and acting like somebodies husband eventhough he had a "gf". One thing management companies do is manage perception. They will do whatever they need to do, to make sure u see what they want you to see but one thing they can't control is natural chemistry, and kenetic energy... zayn and harry have that. Zayn's eyes would immediately connect to harry's when they spoke, whenever harry spoke zayn would shut tf up and listen , whenever they would huddle for the last bow, he would always wrap his arms around harry's waist NOT his shoulders like the other boys did, his radar would always be tuned to harry and i think that what frustrated him about the whole thing. He felt trapped and annoyed that he had fallen like everybody else. That's why everything was so hot and cold with them. He didn't want any of that but after a certain point he couldn't control it. I saw on several videos where he would do everything in his power not to even look harry's way and focus his attention on other people. In the end i think all of them were just over Harry in general, because lets be honest, it was the harry show 80% of the time and it wasn't even harry's fault. He was just being him until it became an issue, you could slowly see harry becoming more withdrawn and quiet, way less cheeky almost like he just wanted to dissapear. When interviewers would call on him, you could see it in his face like "here we go" 🤦‍♂️and with that fact zarry was born, zayn admittedly knew who harry really was from the beginning. He knew harry was different, he knew harry was fluid in his sexuality and in some way envied and admired that about him. Harry never hid, when they would ask about gurls he would always make his response gender nuetral. He would always say "someone" never girls, never women except that one time he was being a smart ass in that interview when they asked wats the best part about being in the band and blurted out awkwardly and said " i like gurls" as if to mock the other boys and the interviewers because that's all they talked about. But instead of zayn agreeing like he always did HE awkwardly giggled and said "you've changed......."! because they both felt the same way about gender roles and hyper masculinity and they still do today. They both knew it was bullshit. *takes breath* ill be back for part two of my essay lol stay tuned.

As much as I love this and their relationship, I've never seen it as more than that, though there's no denying they were closer than most friends. I think Harry, Zayn, and Louis were all really close friends together, but there's more solid evidence for Louis and Harry, plus the intensity around them every single time, even after nearly two years of being forced to keep apart in the public eye to stem rumours. And I got the impression Zayn had to cover up for Louis and Harry, there's several interviews where he warns them to be careful, or Liam calls Louis out for being obvious, and Niall just sits back and enjoys it all. With how Harry reacted after Zayn left, and how Zayn denies ever being friends with him, I reckon he used Louis and Harry's relationship against them in order to get out of the contract with the band - he never wanted to be in a group, he always seemed miserable when not on stage (and on stage as the years wore on), and his general and mental health were clearly suffering. He did his time, got recognition, and got out however he could to start his career, and if that meant betraying his friends then so be it. Now, Harry never mentions him, and Zayn seems bitter, and even Louis' only recently made amends with Zayn. Liam and Niall never seemed put out by Zayn leaving, never seemed bitter or hurt, they accepted it and moved on. It's odd how Harry and Louis were the ones who seemed the most betrayed by it. But, overall, Zarry was real in the sense of them having a close and unique friendship that was beyond the average - it showed through a lot, and they're both deep people, they take things seriously and don't mess around when it counts, so they had a lot in common. Isolated and on the road, it's natural they'd form closer bonds than anyone else, but the difference is that Harry and Louis clearly knew each other before the band, they were instantly close, and even when they 'fell out', they smiled and smirked at each other, stole glances, shared silent moments, and even learned sign language to form their own just to communicate with each other in public. Zarry were beyond close, but Larry were solid, the gaps didn't even need filling in those first few years, and their 'fall out' was clearly a lie, there's so much proof against it, and as close as they are, the only explanation is that management wanted them to avoid keeping the rumours alive, whether it was true or not, they would have seen it as harmful to a boyband who supposedly live on being aimed at cishet girls. It's a business that needs to die and transform into something more with the times and less set in old ways of thinking whichever way you look at it.
