That boy Zay don't play! GODEEEZAM (In Ice cubes voice) I think this has a HUGE market for beat makers who are first starter out. All they have to do is purchase this and then start making beats on the fly. It is on the expensive side but the new comer doesn't have to worry about what computer to buy, what interface, what sounds, what plugins, what VST's, etc. So for that reason alone i see this actually doing pretty well.

Yes MPC live is gonna be dope. Finally a proper stereo sampler and lots of storage. My poor little Electribe with 25 MB is a complete joke!
@AveMcree7 жыл бұрын
yeah, the ES2 is straight trash... At least the OP-1 is still viable but Teenage Engineering actually knows how to make hardware.
@toff19747 жыл бұрын
Whilst I don't completely disagree with what you say, the E2S is a 1/4 of the price of the live.. And there was nothing here that couldn't be done on the E2S. Make a more complex composition or perform live and yes, this will leave the E2S in the dust. Also, the MPC workflow is killer . 5 minutes on the MPC, probably an 1/2 an hour on the Electribe. Take the electribe for what it is.. a sketching tool (finish with an export to ableton) or a fair drum sample player in a bigger setup. Please make a fair comparison!

To add, if I could afford a live or the x I would be at the front of the queue day of release.

MetaphorHipHop can't trust a producer who admitted to telling people to dumb their lyrics down. That's the state of hip hop. That and using the same sounds and sounding like everyone else.
@EliteOnTheBeat7 жыл бұрын
Thats why i'm sure not to use the same sounds as everyone else. I purchase expansion packs from Ni and use those drums a lot of the times and nobody is going to have those drums unless they purchased that exclusive pack. Also Industrykits.com and beats24-7.com gots banging sounds as well.

Yo so how do you load the vsts on the mpc? I know you can load the individual samples through USB. do you still have 2 have your controller hooked 2 the computer and control the sounds from there?
@AveMcree7 жыл бұрын
man, if there is one thing AKAI does right its their selection of sounds. The stock sounds are very usable as they only hire the best guys for the job. Top that off with AKAI having the best keygrouping system of all hardware drum samplers (2nd goes to Teenage Engineering's OP-1) you would need VST's. VST's lagged so far behind hardware for years it wasn't until 5 years ago they were considered a viable option. The MPC touch, LIVE, and X can be plugged up to a PC/Laptop to use VST synth's. You will find using stock sounds more convenient though workflow wise.
@gambleproductions67767 жыл бұрын
Ave Mcree that's what I loved about my 1000 when it worked. the work flow was the best
@johnpettiford1167 жыл бұрын
So if you use a midi keyboard, is it really standalone? I'm confused by this whole "standalone" movement, lol.
@AveMcree7 жыл бұрын
John Pettiford yes, because he's using it with MPC and nothing else.
@johnpettiford1167 жыл бұрын
I mean, I guess bro. It's hooked up to the studio monitors and maybe even his computer (He looks up at the screen at one point). I thought the point of standalone was portability, but based on what you're saying it's just about all the sounds coming out of one box. If they really wanted to emphasize standalone, they should have made the only equipment a pair of headphones. Once you start plugging in all these peripherals there's nothing "standalone" about it. I think I'm gonna have to do a video about this whole situation, lol.

Have you seen any of the other videos out there? This is finally a sampler that has a touch-to-slice feature! You can tap the pads as you play the sample and it will make a non-destructive chop on the desired pad... Incredible.
@youngin92397 жыл бұрын
How the fuck wiill you use vst plugins with standalone
@AveMcree7 жыл бұрын
thats not the point of a standalone unit but you can plug it up to the PC and use VSTs. Producer's like Zaytoven been making smashers for years without VST's. It's not impossible
@TheDougSpot7 жыл бұрын
How is it the standalone challenge when most of what he did was on the keys?
@AveMcree7 жыл бұрын
because he did it all with the MPC live... The live support midi keyboards... Midi keyboards dont have sounds in it.
@TheDougSpot7 жыл бұрын
Ave Mcree That doesn't make sense. You don't call working in a DAW a standalone challenge. This is just pure marketing
@AveMcree7 жыл бұрын
DGLS he isn't using a DAW. Its a standalone unit because you can do every aspect of production without the use of other modules or a PC. Another example of a standalone unit is Teenage Engineering's OP-1. That machine has a synth engine, sequencers, 4 track tape recorder, effects, etc for production.
@TheDougSpot7 жыл бұрын
Ave Mcree You're not getting my point. If a machine with peripherals attached to it is standalone, then a DAW would be considered the same, but it's not. Standalone means you don't use anything else to get the job done. A motif/fantom/Kronos is standalone, not this. This is just another beat machine, nothing new
@HIEROCHARM7 жыл бұрын
That track is average at best. And what's with the reaction vid? If he thought that was fire, and he's a producer himself, it would be hard for me to value his opinion.
@mmhcreates4 жыл бұрын
A reaction vid is akin to a comment being a written reaction. So here we are all reacting. You do not need to value is opinion or base an entire judgement on a single analysis. Enjoy and explore.
