The point of NYC's employee mandate is not to keep the virus from spreading in workplaces by vaccinating employees, it's to coerce people into compliance by threatening their livelihoods. It's not that they think it makes sense from a health perspective that Kyrie Irving is allowed to sit courtside but isn't allowed to play. It's just that they want to punish him for not refusing to do what they want.

During my post grad surgical residency training I also obtained a masters in Science research. During our residency literature reviews there was a standard of weighting the “integrity” of a study; The least weighted study was always the one that was funded by the company that stood to profit from a positive outcome/result/conclusion. Before we analyzed the statistical method/power/integrity of a study the financially conflicted studies were set aside and only occasionally reviewed in great detail. So…a sincere question here: When did it become acceptable to use literature, with a serious financial conflict of interest, as justification to set public policy, treatment algorithms, disturb the patient/doctor relationship, etc. I’ve found very few studies over the past two years that are supposedly driving “legitimate” Covid policy that didn’t have a glaringly obvious conflict of interest (Most NIH studies and referenced studies by the CDC/FDA) When did our literature review standard drop so low?

Just attended a nursing conference A patient told her story-during Covid she sat, alone, for 5 hour chemos. Talk about loss of control-cancer diagnosis, no one can come with you… and she said she felt nurses-as wonderful as they were-treated her with a distance, as if she would infect them with a deadly illness. The loneliness, fear, and feeling like a pariah were so hard to hear. Hospitals made terrible decisions out of fear, as if they forgot patients are more than their disease. I was never afraid of Covid, and I don’t know why. But I don’t think healthcare will be able to atone for the sins of their reactions to covid. Making patients die alone, face cancer alone, delaying care… a blight on our reputation

"I was never afraid of Covid" I don't know a single person who intentionally varies their news sources that was afraid of COVID-19. It was people who choose to digest a specific form of news -- progressive legacy media -- that ended up terrified out of their wits. As they intended. Unfortunately for progressive legacy media, that behavior is harming them in the long term because it was another very long, strong and self-inflicted nail in the coffin of their reliability in the minds of moderate Americans. My wife had a similar experience with her semi-annual Rituxan infusions. 5 hours sitting alone in an infusion ward in a stifling mask, surrounded by stressed-out nurses incapable of being personable because of a combination of media-induced irrational fear as well as the draining social isolation induced by two years of hardly ever seeing a human face. That's the one aspect of this that I struggle with. It is very much known in psychology that the human brain is extensively hard-wired to perceive and analyze faces, and agenda-driven actors willfully downplayed the emotional impact of endless masking in their fanatical quest for absolute medical safety.

Two covid questions that have never been answered at least in my mind 1 why is a CASE defined as anyone infected symptomatic or asymptomatic (including false positives) ...that's not true for example of the flu 2 is covid-19 spread asymptomatically?
@rdean1502 жыл бұрын
A case is established when a diagnostic test shows that the patient is infected with the virus. This is how many many different disease "cases" are defined. The entire purpose of diagnostic tests is to determine if a person is infected or not. There is literally no better way to know if a person's symptoms are due to Covid, flu, bacterial infection, purely psychosomatic, or one of countless other conditions.
@Canadianforestfairy2 жыл бұрын
@@rdean150 For sure, however diagnosis requires more than just a diagnostic test it requires symptoms, and a prognosis by a healthcare practitioner. RTPCR tests have had no standardization regarding CT values and other variables within the lab and most were done at a CT level way above what is known to be replication competent.This plus mass testing of asymptomatic people led to an exorbitant number of cases which, When redundantly broadcasted on the daily, led people to think that many many people are very very sick with this when it was not the case.

As we say in our country "Es fácil hablar con el diario del lunes" something like: it is easy to talk when you have the next day's newspaper; when you have vaccines, when you understand transmission, when you have some idea of palliative measures and treatment. It is easier to talk when your decisions do not affect hundreds of millions of people. Just look at the initial AIDS prevention campaigns, the Grim the reaper ad, for example. The same human reaction to the unknown. Some of the negative effects of the pandemic were not related to policy, were related to people's experiences of other people getting sick or dying, people naturally avoid danger and stop going out. Nobody talks about the mental; health effects related to mourning almost 1.000.000 people, of having to take care of a relative in the hospital for months, or having to lose weeks of work because of being sick.
