Came back to your old video to your fishing setup. I live in Northern Michigan and have Lakes Michigan and Lake Huron surrounding 80% of this State and they are home to some HUGE Carp. I have one 888 setup but plan on buying 3 more 888 setups so I can take my two grown Daughters and one Son in Law Carp fishing. I caught Carp for years and it's something my Son in Law has never experienced. Thanks for showing what you use. I've been a Subscriber for sometime

Thanks for the overview on the 888. I have a baitcaster and a spinning reel for bass, but wanted something economical that was easy-mode for catfish and this looks like a great choice. Showing that the reel had a clicker was extremely helpful.

What happened to the Zebco 808 you got me convinced to get one so I got the Zebco Boss Hawg rod medium heavy power with the Zebco 808 reel as combo is been the best for how much I paid for it and get in the big catfish inn. How much better is the 888 reel I was looking at the Zebco 33max with medium heavy power rod 🤔 it comes with 20 lbs line from factory on it.

Last time I'd heard the Zebco 808 & 888 reels , both had plastic ball barings in them ? Not good , if you WAS catching LARGE fish with them ? But, with those small catfish , you'll be fine .

Caught a 30 pound carp with that Zebco 888 about a month ago, also caught a few 20 pounders with it.

Thanks for all the tips and info Jeff! So helpful. I have mostly fished for bass most of my life, az native, but thanks to you channel have really got into fishing for channels and flatheads. I bought an expensive open face spinning reel but it creates too much line memory on the heavier guage 30 lb test, too many tangles. Just gonna keep it simple and get one of the higher grade zebcos. It appears they have made a great real there. Keep it simple catch more fish. I have seen you pull in some big ones with that real. Zebco if you are watching mr lewis needs a sponsorship, he is the best cat fisherman in town. Going this weekend to pick up that reel!

Spin rod instead of cast rod which is for spincast reels. Ol' Whiskers makes both; & cast rod with & without trigger! Spin-large guides/Cast-small guides. But all catch fish!!!

You are a great fisherman Mr. Lewis. I just wish one day you can make a video using smaller rods like a 5.6 ft, 6 foot or 6.6 ft long rods. I guarantee you if you catch a 10 pounder with a 5.6 or 6ft long rod the fight feels great :)
