Yeah it was a team effort, or if furina broke her role who knows of heavenly principles will intervene to Focalors plan since she planned to destroy the Hydro archon’s throne. Things could have been worse. So while Furina distracts the whole of Teyvat, Focalors is doing the plan uninterrupted.

Furina was the literally waiting for the greatest trial of all time which is the signal that Focalors plan is finally going to take place and end Furinas never ending masquerade of suffering. But Furina never knew that trial was going to be her trial. that cuts even deeper on the onions

That's probably the most cruel part of the plan. Focalors always knew that in order to succeed, Furina would need to think she had failed at the last minute, and believe the last 500 years were for nothing.

I no-lifed this on day 1 and have watched quite a few streamers play it too ever since. The Trial part and Furina's desperation hit so much harder when you know she's witnessing all that she's been suffering to build for the past 5 centuries crumble around her. She's convinced she's failed, and everyone will now die, because of her. Just watching her sink into her chair in complete shock is enough to make me feel crushed as well.

I loved Furina’s story. It was refreshing to turn our focus to someone other than the traveler. It was Furina that saved Fontaine in the end and we were as she said “a witness”.

Furina is one of the few fictional characters that I recognize as a hero. We however, The traveler, did Jackshit to contribute to the greater cause this entire region. Knowing Furina's deal at this point, it's blatantly clear to me that we were the antagonists for at least a while in this archon quest, and Furina was the hero, who had to fight against every single major force of this world in her lonesome. Yes, even against both of our major antagonists, that is to say Celestia and the Fatui, AND ourselves.

You mean… because we used intelligence to compare and contrast divinity and mortality with 3 tests that Furina was doomed to fail? Because if we had shown up a year earlier or more, the Oratrice wouldn’t have accumulated enough indemnitium as a result of exposing Furina’s impersonation? Makes me wonder why Focalors said that trusting humanity was the right decision, if her plan relied on humanity’s respect/unintelligence rather than physically concealing info.

It’s crazy that Childe was able to fight the Narwhal all by himself for over a month without his Vision, even as the lowest ranked Harbinger. It does make me wonder how The Knave would have done against it since she is 7 ranks higher than him. Also Skirk yeeting Childe into the Abyss is the most unintentionally funny thing I have seen in the Genshin Story

Childe is a special case, he is the exception to the Fatui ranking rule, after all, as far as we have seen, only he is capable of using the power of the Abyss (and the "Foul Legacy", now we know why this transformation is called that xD) and so he was able to fight the Narwhale (Ptakhur is the name). In my opinion, it is impossible for any other Fatui (other than Pierro, who is a wizard who uses power from the Abyss) to survive in a fight against such a powerful being from the Abyss. Our boy Mr. Worldwide only gets stronger with time, so proud of him ♥

@@Henryfs. All devouring narwhal must be the 2nd Hydro beast in Genshin. Liyue faced the similar Hydro beast Osial, the Overlord of the Vortex. Not sure if we can put both under the same category. But, In both the fights Childe was involved, Maybe there are other Hydro Beasts in Teyvat. It feels like Liyue and Fontaine are connected in some way.

I know she’s a god and everything, but if you think about it… Focalors was legit the loneliest person in the entire story. She worked only to die, placing her dreams in someone she didn’t even see more than once(that we’re aware of) when she danced for Neuvillette, he was the only person who knew her plan and watched her die.

Focalors literally doesn't have a body nor consciousness, the only this remained of her is the memories and devinity, if it's not for furina, focalors wouldn't even have enough indemnidium to be used in the first place, and focalors also said that she's just like furina when she was first born as a human from oceanid, that's why she said (in a sense "me" in human form)

The Finale really showed Neuvillette his own flaw as the Judge of Fontaine, as many of his judgements ended up wrong. That is why he became Furina biggest fanboy after it, lol.

Rewatching this quest made me realize something. Mage N's message to us, which, the summary sounds kinda like "there is still a way to turn things around". That "way" was Focalors' plan and sacrifice. After all..the prophecy did still come to pass...but with a twist. So in a way, what Mage N told us was spot on.

Yeah she actually offers very exact guidance on what we need to do to save Fontaine. “Just play your role.” She can’t really tell us how or why playing out the prophecy is exactly what we need to do, but it’s the correct answer. I suspect all her dialog will be likewise vague but accurate. So we should keep an eye on her going forward.

The way Focalor took a bow, and peaced out in such an elegant yet smugly satisfied way was so impactful and amazing. Furina being just devastated and alone after going through 500 years of pure dedication to her people was heartbreaking. You held it together a lot better than I did playing through this quest line. I was a hot mess lol

Ei is already present when the 1st seven archon was established so she knows how terrifying the heavenly principles is. based on her story quest she's scared of them and will do everything to pursue eternity even if she discard some of her works or people. Nahida and Focalors just has better solution and not scared because they didnt witness how heavenly principles do things

She committed suicide precisely to protect her nation from Celestia's cruelty at the same time that she takes part of their power and gives it to whoever is the true owner. Focalors is the best Archon and will forever have that title, no other Archon was able to go head to head with Celestia (not even the Tsaritsa who needs to appeal to power from outside Teyvat) and Focalors/Furina did this even though she wasn't so strong, he did all this only on the basis of intelligence, perseverance and determination. NO ONE, NO ONE was able to stop Celestia when they cursed a nation to total destruction, only Focalors/Furina did it and they deserve a lot of recognition for that.

@@Henryfs. she's not present when Khaenri'ah was destroyed. clearly, she is the best archon standing up against Heavenly Principles, but she can only do that because she is not scared (meaning she didn't witness what happened to Khaenri'ah) Ask other archon like Ei who wanted to pursue eternity to avoid Heavenly Principles and Zhongli who can't say anything because he is bound by contract (both of them can't do anything against heavenly principles because they witnessed what heavenly principles can do to them). Focalors just did what she did to protect her people because she is not scared (a proof that she did not witness what happened to Khaenri'ah, only Egiria witnessed it thats why you can see her kneeling to celestia asking for forgiveness)

There is a real world tradition of mysticism that attributes ancient wisdom and alchemy to Hermes-Thoth (combining the greek and egyptian gods), and the founder philosopher is named Hermes Trismegistus, thrice great Hermes. I assume Mona and her master's name are a reference to this real world founder of alchemy. This is actually where we get the medical term "hermetically sealed" from the alchemical processes used to seal air-tight flasks. Also the hag is named Barbeloth which is likely a reference to Gnostic mystic traditions where Barbelo is the first emanation of God.

NaNaNamine on the live chat is ruining this. They have such a hard on for furina, and can't seem to see the situation unfolding through the eyes of the traveller and the other Fontainians Yes, Furina suffered and carried on suffering alone bevause exposure means the death of all The house trick does seem like a betrayal of Furina's trust but Furina doing jacksh*t (at least in the eyes of the people) is a betrayal to them. Many in Poisson already died and there were multiple signs that the prophecy is coming true, but yet their Archon is doing nothing (again in the POV of others). NO ONE was at fault here. Furina was DESPERATELY keeping her isentity secret and at the same time the people are DESPERATELY seeking answers that their archon is not giving.

I loved Furina right from the start, but after this quest she's easily at least on par with Nahida if not ahead of her now which is saying a lot cause I _adore_ Nahida. I ugly cry every single time I watch a playthrough of this quest, multiple times but especially right at the end with the fontaine theme playing as Furina runs out of the opera house and realises that everyones alive and her 500 years of mental torture is finally over 😭 Also Nevui continuing to be just the best guy ever, he cares so much about the people and Furina/Focalors 🥲 I said it after act V of sumeru and I'm saying it again now, I really have no idea how they're ever gonna top this. I could never decide who I liked more out of Venti, Zhongli and Ei but I physically can't see how they can make another archon that I love even more than Nahida and Furina, surely it's just not possible

I agree!!! Furina/Focalors and Nahida are by far the best Archons (not only in lore but in gameplay too xD), even though they don't have many powers (in Furina's case, she had none) they managed to protect their people and honestly, I think It's impossible for any Archon to do anything more impressive than transform the infamous "Seven Archons" into "Six Archons" while giving the biggest middle finger possible to Celestia. Who would have thought, right, that the Archon that everyone said was going to be the biggest ally to Celestia at the end of it, is the Archon who gave them the biggest middle fingger (and said that if it were possible she would have even killed everyone in Celestia xD)
