It IS a good lens. It's made of metal not plastic. Even the Zeiss Touits were made of metal. It works well if it's anything as good as their APS-C counterparts. The color on them is off the bat superb. Color correction like this other commenter said is a click away even or done in body when it comes out in jpg format. I bought the 135mm APO-Sonnar recently and it is the best I've used. If I had the money, would have gotten this one first though.
@Neopulse009 жыл бұрын
Actually, the mount is metal and the body is metal but the internal components are of high quality plastic, like the Touits for example. And you're getting better quality with these with the higher price tag to boot, but worth it.

I have a purchase question! LEND ME YOUR BRAINSSS (please) For street photography, if you could only afford one of these options to start, which would you choose: A7ii + Kit lens OR A6000 + Batis 25mm? (both options are about the same price where I am) I know that the A6000 is a great little camera for the price, but the A7ii has IBIS and further has better lowlight capability. On the other hand, the glass is "what matters", right? But honestly, I've never used an A7ii or a Batis 25mm, so... Yea, I'm really stuck. Feedback would be very appreciated!

nik r I have the 16-35mm Zeiss F4. It's extremely nice. I use it for landscape. It's really sharp, if you're using it with the A7R the dynamic range is of course insane. But even on the regular A7 or A7ii it will look great. flickr.com/nagolart if you go to my flickr you can see some shots in the landscape album taken with it.

Burning Derp If you want an ultra wide lens to shoot lanscape and architecture get the 10-18mmf4. If you want to shoot portrait and need a lens to isolate your subject from the background get the 50mm1.8. If you want a small fast prime to put on your camera and shoot basically everything, get the 35mm1.8. If you want cheaper alternatives with amazing optical performance, take a look at the sigma lenses, 19mm2.8, 30mm2.8 and 60mm2.8. Good luck :)

I started getting into photography and it's really fun, but I am currently an amateur. I have gotten a Canon rebel XS because it was all I could've afforded at the time, plus I was able to gain knowledge on how to use it because of that fact that we used that camera in digital photography, a class I took last year. I currently have an 18-55mm and I'm looking to get a longer distance lens. Should I upgrade and use the lens on that old camera or should I first upgrade the body then get a lens with that as well? Thank you in advance.

The lens is beautiful and performs admirably but I'm more impressed with the A7S focusing ability. Everyone crapped on the Af performance but it seems great for capturing quick street shots like Kai did; so fast enough for every day situations I'd say and not anywhere near as bad as people said. The color and resolution is excellent too! Surprising for only 12 megapixels

I use Canon. Why does Canon not give depth of field info (distances in front of and behind the focus point) in the viewfinder? I could really use that, and it's so obvious a thing to do, and easy to add. At least add it to the firmware so it can appear, if not in the viewfinder, on the LCD display. Adding a screen to the lens is much less convenient, especially in fast shooting situations. The info needs to be in the viewfinder.
