Everything about this is simply wonderful. One of the finest bands of all time, with one of the greatest principal cornetists and soloists, who not only plays super but plays to the audience, having them in the palm of his hand. The ladies and gentlemen in Purple...like my 2nd family. Great stuff

I had the pleasure and great honour of playing under the baton of Harry Mortimer in 1963. A friend of mine used to play Zelda on the Tenor Horn and sounded just as good.

Thx for sharing! A piece of history and so nice to see Mr Mortimers reaction during and after the performance!

Harry (only HM or Mr Mortimer to his fave in you played for him) is sitting next to his wife Margaret.HM still remains one of the finest cornet players and musical direcors of brass that ever lived - The best in my opinion. To top all of that he was a lovely and gentle man.
