Nah, theory doesn't float. Here are some points: The mirror of Twilight was made specifically to banish the interlopers. This preceded OoT, meaning the interlopers were already interred when Ganondorf was banished. Zant exists. In later games it is shown that the Gerudo stopped having male children because Ganondorf is still alive. So we can discount the idea of this being a myth among Gerudos given this tangible effect. No cultural reference to Gerudo symbology among the Twili. Fused Shadows are ancient by Twilight Princess standards, and are distinct from Gerudo magic. Ganondorf wouldn't need to disguise himself as a deity if the Twili were loyal Gerudo. They would likely have followed him more earnestly if he was himself. It's unlikely Ganondorf would grant Zant powers that would let him warp, distort and damage the Twili if they were Gerudo. Ganondorf canonically loves his people, to the point where Guardians are absent from the desert in BotW. This theory is riddled with assumptions, and by Occam's Razor, the theory with the least assumptions is most likely true. It's a fun one, but it doesn't hold up to scrutiny.
@AbsurdZeldaTheories Жыл бұрын
To there points 1: I don't remember it being stated int he games that the mirror is made before OOT, even if it was made for an original different purpose that to doesn't affect the theory to much. 2: I don't understand this point about the gerudo not having male children because of ganondrof. 3: There is sybolisym of the gerudo on their clothing and the mirror is kept in the gerudo desert. 4: The fused shadow being ancient and non gerudo I don't think changes the theory. 5: I imagine the Twili would not be so loyal to him in the era of twilight princess if they knew who and what he was, he led them to this existence after all. 6: Ganondorf does love his people but at the end of the day his drive for power at any cost is what seems to define him, I think this is a mere justification for his acts of aggression on the rest of hyrule. TOTK puts this into perspective a little for me.
@Zac_Frost Жыл бұрын
@@AbsurdZeldaTheories I didn't see any Gerudo symbolism on the Twili clothing. If you're to argue Zant, then probably because Ganondorf gave him a power-up as well as new threads? That's the only bit that'd make sense. Also, if they were his people, wouldn't he try to free them and help them thrive again rather than just use them? As stated in the original comment and shown in Wind Waker, Ganondorf loved his people so much, that even in rage incarnate form with little rational ability, and the fact that he knew the Gerudo were no longer loyal to him and outright hated him, he still didn't threaten the Desert they called home. Even in spite of the fact that they'd turned on him and moved on without him, he still wanted them to thrive.
@roven_5530 Жыл бұрын
I dont think that BoTW mention holds up anymore, as seen in ToTK, Ganondorf only leaves those who follow him, as stated in one of the memories, Ganondorf attacks the last independent Gerudo Village and by the time he transforms, it seems he replaces his followers seen in past movies for the monsters, possibly killing them or abandoning them. A reason why Gaurdians might not be in Gerudo desert in Breath of the Wild is because they just never could, gerudo were to good of fighters for the Gaurdians to defeat.
@Zac_Frost Жыл бұрын
@RoVen_ Well, maybe he attacked the last Gerudo settlement to subjugate them. As far as the Gerudo being too good of fighters? The Guardians nearly killed Link, and he was able to beat Ganondorf, who had a Zonai Stone without one himself through pure skill.

Guardians didn't reach the desert because it's protected by a highmountain range. The only reason that a place wasn't infested with guardians is a geographical one.

Not even the creators of the series really know everything. Each game has a different style, there's a lot of little things that don't make sense here and there, and the timeline is pretty much pieced together with elmers glue and scotch tape. They come up with new stuff all the time, and I'm almost certain they're just making things up as they go.

See I agree that probably alot of new blood to the twili at the time of TP was Gerudo and the the other tribe with a similar name to the Zonai but with green skin(wether by mistake or punishment), however I think such a "punishment" device would have been used for criminals of various races and but the main two I think are Gerudo & Sheikah as two peoples who at some point went against the hyrule family and as you said with the architecture in the twilight realm I see much sheikah in there too, which brings me to Veran from the oracle games, she has symbolism of both tribes and the biology of a twili

Excellent theory. A few points to further your theory.. 1) The Fused Shadow protects against Gloom, a force of evil directly coming from Ganondorf. 2) Maybe the Dark Links portrayed in the TP flashback aren't just representations of corruption because Ganondorf, as you state, is shown to be able to directly manifest Dark Links as well as Phantom Ganons, and at least Phantom Zelda in Tears of the Kingdom's flashbacks and modern day. 3) The Zonai clearly have magic markings over their body that are extremely similar to the colours of Zonai text and Zonai magic. 4) Poetically this would be awesome because the remaining Zonai, Rauru takes a stand and stops Ganondorf unknowingly on behalf of his betrayed ancestors who were banished to the twilight Realm for centuries because of Ganon. They would have then be directly involved in the downfall of Ganondorf at the end of Twilight Princess and ToTK. Which would have been awesome Karma. 5) Midna has ginger hair and pointed ears, something that is often connected to the Geurdo.

5:25 I'd like to note that the Gerudo emblem is the only one to not feature a triangle or triple motif in some way (such as the eyelashes on the Sheikah seal, the toes on the Goron seal, or the Zora biohazard-looking shape). As such, one has to assume the Gerudo are *quite* separated from not only the politics of Hyrule, but the spirits as well. Your mention of Twinrova put it all together for me: With Twinrova as the double-goddess of the Gerudo, it would explain their "two eyes" emblem design!
@kenpanderz Жыл бұрын
i dont have a disagreement with the theory, but when it comes to unreliable narration, i feel that you have to have a compelling reason to assume the one(s) telling the story might be telling it inaccurately. its not really enough to say its unreliable because its a legend, because the legends could be told accurately. if, for instance, OoT were to be retold differently by a different narrator, whoever that might be, and there were inconsistencies between the original telling and the new retelling, then unreliable narration would be a reasonable assumption to explain the discrepancies basically, unless you have good reason to assume the narrator is wrong or lying, its best to assume they are telling an accurate truth. otherwise things like Star Wars could be considered an inaccurate legend, since its being told by someone who probably didnt live in the time period or the region of the universe that the stories take place

Ganondorf is revived to plague the people a in only two instances. In every other time Link kills him that is the end of him. The oracle games has a revival attempt but it was incomplete. In four swords Ganondorf is a reincarnation and may not even be a gerudo, his knowledge of link being a matter of historical study. It's possible that Demises curse affects every villain throughout the series driving them to greater evil and can have multiple incarnations present at a time. Other potential villains may have come up but were dealt with before they became a major issue.

While I may not agree with this entirely, I do believe the Gerudo may have at least some kind of connection to the Twili and that's through the Zonai While I believe it the Zonai are the Minish/Picori, I also believe there was a group of them that were the interlopers and seeing as the sages existed at this time, they likely were the one's banished. This makes sense due to the Zonai having again- advanced magic and technology so they definitely could've created this mirror to banish those that tried to form an uprising. And the Gerudo of course existed at this time and likely would've been inspired by the patterns of the Zonai and by connection- the Twili.

I strongly believe the most probable timelines botw could be part of though a lot of people want to put it after twilight princess... would be wind waker or if you are willing to accept it somewhere in the canon... hyrule warriors. The salt and presence of all races could lend credibility that the seas receded and a new hyrule was founded. Wind Waker honestly could take place so far in the future from OoT that so many of the events of other games could have happened anyway but with different outcomes. Or Hyrule warriors where all the time lines got mashed together in timey whimey nonsense.

I'm not a fan of the official timeline as it currently stands. But the idea of some Hylians in twilight princess having Gerudo blood while not being Gerudo makes no sense. Every child born from a Gerudo mother is Gerudo, unless there are exceptions where there is a Hylian mother and Gerudo father? That would mean Ganondorf have weak genes compared to other Gerudo.

characters saying "it is said" is one thing, and I agree that those should be taken with a grain of salt. but players playing it and seeing it as they play it is altogether an entirely different thing. if it happens in the games, it is canon. no room for wishy washy legends mythology nonsense when it comes to what we actually observe in the games. Ganondorf is Gerudo. his mother is Gerudo. Link disguises himself as a female HYLIAN. at no point does any Gerudo believe Link is Gerudo. ever. the Gerudo believe Link is a female Hylian when Link is disguised as such. theories are fun, but reel it in dude. I personally believe Ganondorf's parents were the King & Queen of the Gerudo who led the war against the Hylian royal family before OoT, the war that caused Link's mother to run to the woods & give Link to the Deku Tree. I think Ganondorf's father was another one of the Gerudo males born every 100 years (Kotake & Koume are 400 years old in OoT, even older in the Oracle games, Ganondorf is very old in WW & TP...never is it ever stated that only 1 male Gerudo can exist at a time). I think the war ended with the death of Ganondorf's parents. & I think Ganondorf raised the spirits of his parents... to guard the Forest Temple. Kotake & Koume are sister witches. Meg, Joelle, Beth, & Amy are sister witches. I think the Poe Sisters were Gerudo in life. & look at Meg... she wears a crown. so does "Phantom Ganon" in OoT. while certainly the Phantom Ganons of WW & TotK are NOT the ghost of Ganondorf's father, I believe the 1 and only Phantom Ganon in OoT (who looks the most like Ganondorf of all the Phantom Ganons in the franchise)... is the spirit of Ganondorf's father. I think Phantom Ganon & Meg are Ganondorf's dead parents. & look where he puts them. The Forest temple. South of death mountain, with the graveyard & shadow temple between the Forest temple & death mountain. Line up those points with the map of Hyrule from ALttP & ALBW…then line that up with the map from Minish Cap. The OoT Shadow Temple is the Sanctuary in ALttP/ALBW. & the OoT Forest temple is the Minish Cap/ALttP/ALBW Hyrule Castle. Ganondorf set up his dead parents in the old Hylian Royal Castle. That’s kinda sweet of him. "...theorized might have Gerudo blood..." Telma has the same red hair, green eyes, & pointy ears of all the Gerudo in BotW, and she wears the Gerudo symbol on her apron, & knows how to handle a horse. she has the same 3 color dots of eye makeup as Fanadi the Sheikah and Agitha the Kokiri pretending to be a Hylian child...because the 3 of them are an intentionally designed trio just like the 3 Oracles. Telma is just as Gerudo as Din the Oracle of Seasons. just like Agitha is just as Kokiri as Farore the Oracle of Secrets. I don't even consider that a theory, I consider that canon. now here's a theory: Misha is Telma's daughter. back to the end of OoT. I agree. Link arrives from the future, with the Triforce of Courage even tho he was sent back to BEFORE he ever met Zelda, which is before the door to the sacred realm was opened, and yet the Triforce of Courage leaves the Sacred Realm thru a closed door... at that moment, so does the Triforce of Wisdom go to Zelda & Power to Ganondorf, tho he does not know it until he gets stabbed. Link warns Zelda, Impa, & the king. Ganondorf retreats back to the desert, rallies his forces, including Twinrova & Nabooru's unnamed 2nd in command, & they free Bongo-Bongo from the well. I believe the war before OoT was waged by 2 groups coming together. the Gerudo led by Ganondorf's parents, & a group of Sheikah traitors led by Bongo-Bongo, the powerful Sheikah man who created the Mask of Truth, Lens of Truth, & Shard of Agony. I think when Ganondorf was thwarted by Link from the future, he freed Bongo-Bongo, who rallied some Sheikah traitors again, picking back up the war right where it left off a decade previously. but the Gerudo & Sheikah traitors are easily beaten, and Twinrova & Bongo-Bongo are killed, but the rest of their Gerudo & Sheikah followers are together banished thru the Mirror of Twilight, becoming 1 race with the red hair of the Gerudo & the red eyes of the Sheikah (sure, not all Sheikah in BotW have red eyes, but Impa's entire line does in the entire franchise, Fanadi does in TP, & Bongo-Bongo's glowing energy ball of an eye is red). this is why the Twili have both Gerudo-like symbols & Sheikah-like eye symbols. why they have shadow magic, why both Midna & Zant wear masks, & why Zant Hands are tech like the Sheikah Guardians of BotW & also like the Ancient Robots of SS who mined Timeshift stone which was emblazoned with the Sheikah eye symbol. and yes, Zant is the 1 male born every 100 years, & that's why he thinks he should lead. but just as Impa kept most of the Sheikah loyal to the royal family, so too Nabooru rallies a remnant of Gerudo to her side against Ganondorf, and they are not banished, leading to Telma, & the Gerudo of 4SA. however, 1 issue could be...if Ganondorf's followers are banished, then why does it seem like generations have passed by the time he arrives in the Twilight Realm? because generations have passed. Twinrova & Bongo-Bongo were killed, and the rest were banished, but Ganondorf himself escaped. I believe the cutscene of his execution in TP takes place AFTER the Hero of Twilight has already been born. Ganondorf has been on the run from the Ancient Sages for over a century, unware that he has the Triforce of Power until he gets stabbed with the Sage Sword. and the Twili forgot about him. I agree that the Zuna are the Twili returned to Hyrule. I will also say... it's not necessarily guaranteed that we saw the entirety of the Gerudo Desert in TP... there could be a Gerudo Town somewhere else that we just don't get to see in TP, just like we don't see Lake Floria in most games... but it's still there. last points: no, the spirits who serve the 3 capital G Golden Goddesses are NOT themselves the 3 capital G Golden Goddesses. could Lanayru the thunder dragon be the same being as Lanayru the light spirit? sure. could that being by Nayru herself? absolutely not. just like Nayru the Oracle of Ages is also NOT Nayru the capital G Golden Goddess. and no, you are not learning about legends, you are living thru them, there is a difference. only when an in game character verbally tells you a legend are you then learning about a legend that should be taken with a grain of salt. and even that being said, I believe the Great Deku Tree in OoT absolutely knows what he's talking about when he tells Link the creation story... I don't think that specific example needs any salt at all.

List of other Male Gerudo: PH: Zauz & Kayo (the Cobble are just the Gerudo in the World of the Ocean King, just like there are Gerudo in Termina...Zauz would be 100 years older than Kayo) ST: Malladus does have red hair in his final boss form, but that probably because he possessed the red-haired demon named Cole. It is possible that Malladus was a Gerudo male who found a way to transform into a demon like Ganondorf before him, but it's not confirmed. TP: Zant (100 years younger than Ganondorf of OoT) 4SA: The Red Knight (either 100 years older or 100 years younger than Ganondorf of 4SA) ALttP/OoS/OoA: Onox (younger than Ganondorf), AND... ...Ralph (younger than Onox, also unprovable beyond both Ralph & Ambi having red hair, I just like the idea of a Gerudo kingdom to the northeast of Hyrule) ALBW/TFH: Rosso (Hyrule), Yuga (Lorule), AND... ...The Red Hero (younger than Rosso. I like idea of the Red Hero in TFH being descended from Ralph) TLoZ/TAoL: Rebonack? He is an Iron Knuckle, and in OoT & MM, there are Gerudo inside Iron Knuckles. BotW: Vilia. How is this is even a debate? more theory, less provable: Ganondorf's father, the previous king of the Gerudo. I think Ganondorf brought the spirit of his dead dad back as the Phantom Ganon of the forest temple. The Ancient Sage of Spirit in TP, an ancestor of Nabooru, much older than Ganondorf, has been the Sage of Spirit for a long time, one of the sages killed by Ganondorf after he gets the Triforce of Power and kills the king of Hyrule in OoT in the timeline leading to Wind Waker. The Ancient Sage of Water/Ice in TP, an ancestor of Kotake the sorceress of Ice (sage of ice, sorceress of ice, perhaps it's in the family), did NOT side with his descendant Kotake against the Hylian royal family, allowing her to die, which is why Ganondorf specifically killed the Ancient Sage of Water/Ice in TP instead of any of the other sages. Lightning Round: Agahnim, Agunima, Blind the Thief; various generations of Gerudo from the Dark World of ALttP which changed the Gerudo to look more like the Twili with the teal skin. Stalblind; Lorule counterpart of Blind just like Kotake & Koume have counterparts in Termina. Garo Master fights with 2 swords like the Gerudo pirates also in Termina... descendants? Wizzrobes of MM are old fire and ice sorcerers with blue skin just like Kotake & Koume are old fire and ice sorceresses with green skin. Could the Wind Waker Wizzrobe mini-boss be a Gerudo in a bird mask? maybe.
