It's confirmed to be set in a parallel world. So if it is canon, it is canon, but set in different timelines, completely disconnected from the main timelines from any other Souls games. And that is, assuming that each Souls games shares the same multiverse.

From what research I was able to gather this is not a DLC but A rogue like 3 player oo op survival game I think? I don't know but all I know is judging by the trailer it's a crossover between dark souls and Elden ring I think If If that big enemy that riding a bird dragon with lightning powers is not the nameless king I'm gonna be super disappointed

Nightreign looks like it's just going to be a combination of unused assets and reused assets from the current game and other fromsoft titles. It’s going to be a rouge-like game with set characters and an isolated story. It’s looking like it's going to be cheaper than the base game. It still looks cool, though! It’s like when a KZbin creator uses everything left over in their footage files and edits a badass montage. This is officially Elden Rings' send-off.
