Very nice comparison of these two great little stoves. Be watching for the third stove video. That food looked fantastic, made me hungry.

Nice review. On a side note I never liked carrying liquid fuel in my pack.

Thanks JimmyGun! Just an idea if that's been an issue in the past, you can use grain alcohol (although expensive) or even 91% rubbing alcohol if you want to avoid HEET or DA. I guess I've been fortunate in that I've never had a bottle leak.

Do you find fueling into the wick only to be tricky? I could just see myself spilling fuel on me, the ground and everywhere but the stove : ) You look very content there at the end buddy.

Nah, especially not with the fuel bottle spout. You tip the stove away from the bottle so that the pot holder wall act as a kind of dam that catches the fuel and distributes it into the wick as it runs down and around. That was a good dinner bro! Wish you were there!

Nice! I liked the stove very much, out of interest do you generally prefer alcohol stoves over gas and if so, why?
@Patriot369 жыл бұрын
Thanks! In the overall scheme of things I say it comes down to intended use rather than preference. I think white gas is nearly unbeatable when it comes to trips longer than 5-7 days and/or for groups of 3 or more people or in extreme cold. The energy density of gas is undeniable. On the down side it's heavier, more complex, has a fiddle-factor and can be less reliable. I'm usually not in the mood to deal with gas simply for warming up two cups of water for a Mountain House Meal. In that respect, my alcohol stoves get more use on day and overnight trips. Cooking in silence is kinda nice too!

Patriot36 Thank you for the response and You are quite welcome for my viewership. I find your videos quite enjoyable and informative. Although you're gonna make me go broke. lol. All those flashlights you have makes me want all of them. How many flashlights do you have? I have a collection of 32 or 35 mostly Maglites, a Streamlight Pro-Tac 2AA Ten-Tap, a novelty light from Carlsbad caverns, a cheap plastic Rayovac, and a noname brand light. I had a Dorcy that uses 3 AAA batteries but the battery carrier melted. About the annotations I have them turned off by default. Anyways thanks again for the response. Greetings from Missouri.
