I felt an attraction to a girl I met at 12. 3 years later her friend told me that girl liked me but I was very shy. 40 years later when we were 56 we met up on FB. She had lost her husband and I had been divorced from a bad relationship. That was 14 years ago and we have a love in our hearts we have never felt before.

I met my current wife at the age of 14. I had previously gone to Catholic schools and now in high school I see a girl that I can’t stop staring at. I would wait for her at my locker every morning. I finally asked for her number but when I called I didn’t know what to say. I called a second time and this time she took control and invited me to her church. Sunday arrived and she showed up with her boyfriend driving and took me to her church. Needless to say I was broken hearted. Monday arrived and I waited at my locker just to see her walk by. As she passed a voice; not my own, said “Some Day”! I answered that voice with a firm “ yea right”! 33 years later I meet her again and this time I tell her all about the 14 year old boy that was crazy about her! I used to write her name down over and over as if she was already my wife. I shared with her everything I thought about her at 14. She’s my wife today and I’m pleased to say that everything I felt at 14 I still feel today. Our relationship has been and is a dream come true.

A few months ago I was going through a time where I had no direction. I'd been a carer to my partner for years. When he died last September I felt my focus ended...a nothingness. Then a couple of months ago I had to have work done on my house. I felt totally disinterested. The builder who came to repair the damage noticed my, I guess sadness. We talked about life, death, everything really. We spoke about travel, his dreams, my past travels, suddenly he said, why don't you take a holiday, I can see Thailand has a special place in your heart. So here I am flight, hotel and bags packed...I'm off to Thailand. This young man changed my mindset in one sentence. He didn't stop by, by chance, he was meant to meet me along the path of life.❤

But as we became close it occurred to me that I came into her life to help her get out of a bad relationship. Any help she gave me was a bonus. We've lost touch over the years, but there is no doubt in my mind that we were meant to meet at a time when she needed someone like me to be there.

I just had an interview for a job I had a basic understanding of. It turns out I wasn't a fit for the role at this time. I was almost going to just cancel the Interview and go about my day. I ended up talking to the recruiter and she gave me career advice and introduced me to an area of study I had never heard of. This new area feels like a fit and is something I knew nothing about. I now have new career paths I can look into while I continue to work at my current job. I can see how this new career path can have more importance and meaning compared to my current job. All it took was maybe 8 minutes of our 20 minute conversation. Had I just declined, I would not have gotten that useful information. Had it been with a different recruiter, they could have just agreed I wasn't a fit and moved on to the next candidate. I can feel my career path shifting and it's all because of a chance 20 minute encounter.

Sometimes, the universe gives us exactly what we need in the most unexpected places. I remember a time when I almost skipped a networking event because I thought it would be a waste of time. But I went, met someone who introduced me to a completely new field, and it changed the trajectory of my career. It’s funny how those seemingly insignificant moments can have the most profound impact. The key is to stay open and curious, even when you think you know what’s best for you. Often, it’s the unexpected detours that lead to the most meaningful destinations.
Every person we meet plays a role in our journey. They either challenge us, nourish us, or reflect something about ourselves.

I hadn’t dated for seven years. Someone I loved died and I felt loss without him. Actually, I loss three people that meant the world to me and this guy was the last person, who gave me support and made me feel whole. After 7 years I bumped into someone while walking. I thought he was handsome. I smiled but kept going. He sent me a friend request on Facebook. This was the same guy I bumped into while walking. A few months later, he invite me out. I thought he was too young and my first reaction was no. So I delayed in responding. I finally responded and said yes. From the first bump into, to the first date, to the first hug, I felt there was more. It’s like he sees through me. We started seeing each other. Whenever I see him it’s as if, we connect. I can’t explain it. He puts his arms around me and I feel safe.

Sometimes, life has a funny way of bringing us what we need when we least expect it. Like that chance encounter-you know, the one that starts with a simple bump and ends with a soul connection that feels like home. It's like the universe’s way of saying, "Hey, there’s more to this story." I remember when I was at my lowest, thinking the world had taken everything from me, only to find that the most unexpected moments could spark the deepest connections. It’s those moments that remind us, even in our darkest times, that we are never truly alone. You see, sometimes losing ourselves in someone else’s eyes helps us find the parts of ourselves we thought were lost forever. It’s not about filling a void; it’s about discovering that the void never really existed.

Funny how we sometimes recognize the most significant people in our lives instantly, like they've always been a part of our story-whether it's a partner or a friend. Reminds me of the time I met my cat; within seconds, I knew we'd be stuck in a love-hate relationship forever. Life has a twisted way of setting us up for the connections we need, not the ones we expect.

I have noticed this--and it is probably true whether I have noticed it or not. One very small example that I can describe happened to me when I was wanting to say something--something encouraging--to a boy who I had worked with in a school in that city but who I knew I would probably never see again. I was getting ready to leave that city at the end of the school year. As I left the school which that boy attended, he was RIGHT WHERE HE NEEDED TO BE and moving in the right direction on the sidewalk for me to casually say what I had wanted to say. (Numerous other examples of people and situations being just right for me to be helped or for me to help someone else have occurred in my life.)

On a sunny morning under a blossoming cherry tree, an elderly monk named Hotaka was meditating when a young man named Hiroshi approached him cautiously. "Master," Hiroshi asked, "why do I sometimes feel an instant bond with some people, while with others I sense discomfort?" Hotaka opened his eyes, which twinkled with wisdom, and replied, "Dear Hiroshi, no meeting is a coincidence. Each person you encounter plays a specific role in your life's story. Some stay briefly, while others linger longer, helping you through various seasons of your life." He pointed to the birds soaring in the sky and continued, "Like those birds, we don't fly randomly through life. We are carried by unseen forces, meeting others for reasons deeper than we might understand. Think of your life as a garden," Hotaka added, his voice calm and soothing. "Each person you meet is like a seed that destiny plants in your path. Some grow into beautiful flowers that bloom brightly but briefly, while others become mighty trees, providing shade and shelter for many years." Hiroshi reflected on the people who had come and gone in his life, likening them to various plants in a garden, each contributing in its own unique way. "The ones who hurt us," Hotaka continued, "are like stones in our path. Though they may cause us to stumble and feel pain, they also make us stronger, helping us grow and find our inner strength." He gestured toward a sturdy tree nearby. "And there are those who support us during stormy times, much like the roots of this tree hold it steady against the winds." Hiroshi thought of a friend who had been his anchor during a tumultuous time, a solid presence he could rely on. "Some people," the master concluded, "remain with us forever. They are like stars in the night sky-constant, bright, and guiding. These are our true friends, family, or soulmates, with whom we share both the burdens and joys of life." As the sun dipped lower, casting long shadows beneath the cherry trees, Master Hotaka shared a profound insight with Hiroshi. "Every individual you meet is not just passing through your life by accident," he began, his voice resonating with deeper truth. "Imagine life as a grand orchestra, where each person plays a unique instrument. Together, the music they create influences the course of your journey-sometimes subtly, sometimes dramatically." "Consider this," Hotaka continued, pointing to the flowing river beside them. "Just as each drop of water contributes to the river's might, each person you encounter adds to the river of your life. Some are like small tributaries, bringing new insights and energy, while others are like undercurrents, challenging your strength and resilience." Hiroshi listened, captivated by the metaphor, as Hotaka elaborated on three profound types of individuals we meet: The Catalysts: These are the people who compel us to move beyond our limits. They challenge our complacency and push us toward new horizons of understanding and achievement. Like a stone thrown into a still pond, they create ripples that change the very shape of our waters. The Nurturers: These are the ones who nourish our spirits, providing comfort and support. They are like the sun to our gardens, helping us grow and flourish even in the darkest times. Their presence reminds us of the goodness and light in the world. The Reflections: These are those who reflect back to us the truths we need to see about ourselves. They help us acknowledge our weaknesses and strengths, driving our personal evolution. "With each meeting, no matter how brief, a lesson is imparted, a gift is given," Hotaka explained, his eyes gleaming with wisdom. "These lessons weave into the tapestry of our existence, each thread as crucial as the next." As the lesson neared its end, Hotaka looked earnestly into Hiroshi's eyes. "Now, young friend, remember this: life is an intricate symphony of encounters. Listen carefully to each note, harmonize with the melodies around you, and contribute your music with intention and grace."

Zen Story: People Do NOT come into our lives by chance(no meeting is a coincidence) Ngọc Lan Trần was such a presence for me, she taught me so much and then left(was driven out by my evil mother). I miss her uniqueness that touched me so much and the loss was so great(even now). I am so grateful to have met her!

I love this, hopefully you reconnect with her.

When we meet these people that we connect with why do they disappear .😊❤️
@MiraclesInMotion1237 ай бұрын
If they disappear, it means they are not meant for you. Better people will still come.
@sahaniperera37 ай бұрын
Also their time period in your life is done. I have had a lot of people in my life who played specific roles and left once it was done. NEVER EVER feel bad for letting go.

I looked after my parents for 14 years before they died, then I was diagnosed with cancer. I then met a young woman who I felt I had met before, I thought I knew her but had never in reality. She must have been about 36. We chatted a few times, and I must have said something she did not agree with or like. Over the last two years she has destroyed my life , and my confidence with her vicious gossip. I’ve no recourse. I no longer trust women, or try to engage with strangers. She has been a dark shadow on life. I really could have done without it. The end result? I avoid anybody that is negative or causes me stress.

The story of your life is a book your higher mind has created before it projected itself into the story to live it. The lesson is that you need not worry about your future, ever, because the story was written in advance, it has already been worked out for you and so you need not worry about it during this life experience. By worrying about it, you are resisting the ideal story and go on needlessly complicated tangents.

You mean those people who affect you positively. Everyone comes in by chance. Some we hold onto, others may harm us terribly. We’re not responsible for that. And they don’t make us stronger, even if we manage to survive them.

Thanks for your question but the truth is that no one comes into our lives by chance. There’s a reason and lesson for every encounter
