I have a theory that ZZZ is in a bubble world but its still too early to say. The Hollow disaster that plagued the world tho is very sus.

if Hi3 early years story was presented as good as ZZZ we might have way more players

Well, HI3rd early years story was presented from a budget made by GGZ. ZZZ present itself from a budget made by Tears of Themis GGZ HI3rd HSR and Genshin. Keep in mind, that HI3rd early years was revolutionary, as no other mobile gacha had any 3D gameplay back then. In that case, it was presented even better. But from a far less budget and development experience. And if ZZZ would be from a noname developer (miHoYo before Genshin hype), or would be 8 year old with only 2 language option and 3 hyped new game after it, it would have far less player too.

@@StArShIpEnTeRpRiSe Exactly, HI3 in cn was HUGE, chapter 8~9 back then for the gatcha industry with that amount of presentation and budget was very rare. Just like FGO story was for JP gatchas, HI3 was for CN gatchas to a comparable extent.

But that's comparing baby miHoYo to the current Titan miHoYo. Also, technology even back in 2016/17 was relatively expensive compared to today's tech which is cheap af imo and has allowed more people to get access to mobile

With that logic. If any low budget game would have been presented con the additional budget of Tears of Themis GGZ HI3rd HSR and Genshin, might have way more players.

Eh-nah-nah (hope you are doing better now) Nice recap of ZZZ version 1.2. I hope you will dive deeper into the lore of ZZZ too, although it may not be very related to Honkai Universe (as of now)

Burnice is so cute, that recent cut scene looked good too. Idk if its enough to get me to try the game again tho.... Especially when I already am playing everything else Let me know when the story pops off

if 1.2 story had a little more TV and proxy involvement I'd be fine with it. I get that they're still trying to figure out the perfect balance but all the 1.0 tourists who said "TV bad" kind of ruined the direction of the storytelling. They just replaced their yappy TV dialogue with yappy normal dialogue that you have an option to press skip on. Instead of just removing yappy dialogue to begin with. Hopefully moving forward they can find that perfect balance otherwise I don't really care much for ZZZ. It's just a modern version of HI3 as far as I'm concerned. Like yeah the combat is cool and streamlined minus the shared ult system which they plan on backtracking anyways since they realized how stupid it is and why every game has every character using their own ult, but considering they don't really make the content hard enough to care about hyperfixating on the meta or the combat i'm often just left caring about the story which I felt was really good up until just recently. Even 1.1 had a better story with Jane being a perfect foil to Seth despite ultimately working together in the end. 1.2's story felt lackluster and predictable on top of lacking the charm that the TV system had back in 1.0.
