This is such a great tutorial topic. The “sustained string” we all hear in house and deep. Not so common in tutorials but much needed. Thanks for catching it: Next on the not so common list I’d love to see one on RIDES. How you place and process. Thanks!

@infoslinger I figured that but personally Do you just slap it on and do nothing but eq it?

I can't believe noone except you now after all of these years of rised house music made a tutorial about that sustained note while you can hear it in almost every house track. Big thanks to you for that. Have been looking for it since years.

Need a tutorial on how to process vocals like that because i love that style

I use this a lot in combination with a Reese bass! A really low frequency with a really high frequency builds a ton of tension and is often used in horror sound tracks

Your videos just keep getting better and better. More of this type of content please! Tension, emotion, expectations met and not met, all of that is related, important and not talked about enough. :]

Omnisphere has a good one called "Power String + Tron" that works well for this. Nexus 2 has a really good one as well; i don't own it so I can remember exactly, but i think it's called "Pizzicato Dark". Think that's the one Luke Bond uses.

Hey am gonna go off the video topic and just request for a video. would you talk a bit about talent agencies and how they work and at what point can a producer get to reach out to them basically at that point when u got a good following how do you get to the point where you are headlining festivals?

There's a string preset in one of the factory banks, browse through them, or any one of the Adam van Baker soundbanks, there's 3, one of them has a similar preset

ANY held or repetitive note creates tension, unease... you're approaching this as it's about the sound, but it's not. You can achieve the same effect with almost any sound with a pitch using repetition or sustaining it long enough. Stuff like this is elementary composition stuff, not sound design or production stuff.
