And for anyone mentally begging the question of whether you should save and get the 8000f gen 1 vs gen 2. The answer is no, unless you do not like speakers with proper driver matching and a huge dip at the crossover. These gen 2 8000f (ii) *or Z's 8060 ii in this video* are nothing like the first generation sound. The mid range now exists and isnt sucked out making everything sound harsh and scooped which really only works with acoustic music etc but nothing that has energy and complex loud dynamics. These gen2 klipsh speakers are damn near perfect including the 600m ii standmounts. Oh and btw the rf7 iii he talks about sucks because it has the same shit driver crossover matching as the gen 1 speakers. Thanks Z for talking about this gen2 RP line the way it deserves. The fact all the other reviewers acted like it was a subtle difference between generations made me realize tht don't have the ability to truly be telling anyone what the fuck to buy, generally speaking.

What you're saying about the RF7 III's vs the 8000F II series / 8060 is true ONLY if you connect both speakers to an amplifier thats has less than 250 watts. I've done the same. I connected both to the Bluesound Powernode 330, which has 80 watts per channel, and the 8000's sound better. I then changed to dedicated power amps running 350 watts a channel and the RF7s spliced through the air like lightning and thunder. Felt like a different speaker, the 8000's sounded the same as on the Powernode. Thats the difference. Youre not wrong, but youre definitely not right either. Its like putting ordinary gas in an F1 car and wondering why it drives shit. Needs the proper fuel to reach its proper potential 👌
@johnrus7661Ай бұрын
I think part of what you are hearing is there is an issue with the timming and cross over points which give a hole in the midrange. GR makes a cross over to fix it or probably can tweak the timing and crossover with mono blocks and some DSP/EQ/whatever you want to call it. I know you sort of did that with the bi amping. But a good cross over just makes it more plug and play.

For the price they are pretty solid. I sold mine for the current gen RF7 then sold the RF7 for the third gen Cornwall. These for sure do good with solid state amps if they have a lot of power on tap. My issue is the tweeters ring like a mfer. They have a metallic nature to them when they're played louder than 80 ish db. Low mids are also a tad muddy. but then again I'm also the same idiot who prefers third gen Cornwalls over the fourth gen. If you can't be in the same room as an ultra sonic record cleaners you should not buy these. If you've ever shot without ear protection or spent a lot of time around heavy equipment chances are you'll like these a lot. If you are sensitive to metallic sounds over 8k you should not buy these. You could tube these or go old school class A, but the detail is lost in a two way like this. The RF7's tweeter for sure is more composed, but I get what you're saying about the benefits of the 8 inch woofers. The 10 inch woofers on the RF7 are a bit slow and sloppy.
@dmn818 Жыл бұрын
*If you've ever shot without ear protection or spent a lot of time around heavy equipment* That's me on both then. TBH though the titanium tweeters initially impress with detail but can still get fatiguing, even with my tinnitus.
@daveycrockett5738 Жыл бұрын
Your tweeters should not be ringing and the kids should be amazing on any heritage line speaker. You might have a problem somewhere down the chain or speaker itself or ears perhaps no disrespect. I’m pretty sure the bigger a woofer is the better it will do whatver frequency it is crossed over to do except quickness ofcourse will suffer the bigger you get.
@bigchimpin4215 Жыл бұрын
@@daveycrockett5738I’ve had 3 different klipsch speakers that all touted the titanium tweeter. They’ve been powered by a handful of different amps with the same problem. These tweeters are bright and become fatiguing at higher volume. As for the woofer issues, I don’t think it’s the driver that’s the problem. I think it’s sloppy because the cabinet is not braced or dampened well enough. They create a lot of pressure that the cabinet struggles to keep together. I not sure what you mean by bringing up heritage speakers. These are not heritage speakers.
@daveycrockett5738 Жыл бұрын
@@bigchimpin4215 maybe if you’re talking about klipsch from the 90s I’d understand but current klipsch products do not suffer from ringing in the tweeters I think most people would agree. Ofcourse at high volumes any speaker will start to loose its composure but klipsch will hold better than most. What do you mean Cornwall are not heritage speakers, you mentioned you had rf7iii and sold them for heritage line cornwalls gen 2 or 3 and those r heritage. You shouldn’t be having problems with the cabinet especially with the heritage line speakers they build them by hand and are quite inert and built in the USA. They should be braced quite nicely. Ofcourse there more well built and braced speakers out there but those are no slouch. Trust me I’ve researched many klipsch speaker including all the rf7 line and heritage line for years you should not be hearing a ringing like I said unless it is a problem with your ears or the drivers or something is possibly loose in the cabinet or your room might be very bright. Ofcourse klipsch speakers with there horn and compression drivers will be quite lively but I wouldn’t qualify them as bright as bright to me is something that is harsh to the ears which you can get there but only at very high volumes. Ofcourse finding the right amp will also help. You can run them with very low power but most klispch speaker like lots of good clean power just depends on your personal preference but I would try both and see what u like more.

Just not my cup of tea. I prefer my Wharfedale Diamond towers as I already have more expensive Martin Logans that are more lively, the Wharfedales are more laid back. I would have looked at Cornwall IVs if I could afford them

So I bought some rp-280f speakers years ago from nfm. I definitely thought they were a tad harsh in the beginning but as soon as they got bi-amped it toned them WAY down.

I had the 280f’s for years too and moved on to Martin Logan TXi 60’s. The Klipsch were a great speaker for HT but got to be a bit shrill to my old ears for music. I much prefer the ribbon AMT’s in the Martins. A much more balanced all around speaker especially for stereo listening. I like the real red oak veneer on them too!

Folks I’m going to be honest I started out with the RP series when it first launched and went down the rabbit hole of all rabbit holes. I’m so past the home theater phase and now into hifi 2 channel. You want excellent sound get yourself a pair of bookshelves 2k and up with an integrated amp 3k and up and you’ll be on the right track. Blowing this level of audio out of the water.

Lmfao, definitely not, in certain situations, and depending on the class of amplification, expensive doesn't mean better, I've bought plenty of high end, and I have plenty of speakers costing less that perform better...

Zeos ! : Your Fans appreciate you giving us multiple sources of Music. And pushing the 7- second envelope. Does this mean that you like these speakers?

Anyone with the 8000’s whether gen 1 or 2’s are very lucky to own them… they’re amazing!!

Gen 1's are really cheap now.
@GeneA.6910 ай бұрын
@@69camaro19 that’s great to hear for anyone looking for an amazing sound at a good price and even a few years back when I bought mine I was extremely happy to get them for the price I paid! They punch WAY above their weight, easily compete with speakers that cost 2 to 3 times as much

Homie. Listen to me hang on to those rf7 speakers. One day you will find the right amp or dac or room what the heck ever you need to enjoy those speakers. They’re worth it. And they will crush those 8060 🤦
@gordon_a26554 ай бұрын
Have mark ones if dimensions didn't changed 8060 are deeper than non atmos towers...I think it helps with sounding "more better" dunno...

Whats stopping you from playing not copyrighted stuff?
@ZReviews Жыл бұрын
The fact anyone in the future can copyright it for a buck. And ruin the channel. NO music is safe, even if it is Not Copyrighted right now.

better than rp600m,, if u can sit 3m away from these 8000f2,,,, kick ass dynamic,,,need over 100 hours burn in as klipsch says,,, now we use with tube integ amp... unison simply italy,,,, marantz cd6007,,, furutech wires,,, lifting 8000f2 off the floor, putting on trolley,,, will reduce bass below 200hz by 2-3 db....good for us,,, many ref recordings cd,,, etc...
