I bought these about a month ago, and my review is: for games, classical, Jazz and other extremely well recorded music they're effing brilliant, but you almost need to just know what songs you can listen to and which ones you can't, I had to toss out 1/2 the songs in my "sound quality playlist" as these cans exposed a LOT of weaknesses. So, yeah, love and hate them too.

The main "problem" with the HD 560s is that it will bring out the "problematic elements" behind a shitty produced song. Otherwise, you are going to find a connection with this headphone if your are all about finding out whether the song you're listening to is honest with you or not. Almost leaning to acquired taste. But I personally love the staging on these cans. Treat for watching movies also.

Truly enjoy your reviews. I go between you, dms, josh, and bad seed. I am a gamer and love almost all forms of music. I have dt990s, at m50x, he4xx, and now because of you and DMS I have the 560s. All of these headphones have their place for certain applications. I was surprised with the bass response of these and the mid range is clearer than the other headphones I listed. They are not as “fun” as my he4xx. I feel like every pair of new cans I get I want them to dethrone the previous...I think I now realize the rabbit hole I’ve gotten myself into. Thank you Zeos for a detailed approach and laying out great analogies to comprehend. These are my new gaming cans, and certain music cans. The he4xx hold the crown for my everyday music cans.

What I take out of every analysis or work-recommended headphone is Be afraid of every headphone that can't make poorly produced/mastered songs sound good
@beanexmachina58333 жыл бұрын
But if your headphones make poorly produced/mastered songs sound good, and you use the headphones to produce/master, you won't hear the flaws. An analysis headphone should expose the flaws as much as possible, no?
@MyouKyuubi3 жыл бұрын
I think that's counterintuitive, headphones that make poorly produced/mastered songs sound good, are far more likely to give you hearing damage, especially permanent hearing damage... And thus, should be feared. I wish i knew this earlier, because, i have permanent hearing damage (Mild tinnitus), due to going through a bunch of cheap headphones over the years that made ANYTHING sound good. Now that i have a Sundara i can HEAR why i got hearing damage from those cheaper headphones... More detail retrieval means you can listen to songs at a lower volume, and still be satisfied... My heapdhones are usually BELOW safe listening volumes nowadays, and it still feels like i'm listening to them loudly enough. That's a luxury i didn't have with cheaper headphones, to get the detail necessary to satisfy my ears, i had to turn the volume up above safe listening levels, and then i forget the time whilst i'm listening to music playing WoW, and... oops, i've listened to unsafe volumes for 5 hours all of a sudden... Welp, RIP my ears... You know the saying "A sharp knife is a safe knife"? Yeah, that applies to headphones too, "blunt" headphones are dangerous to work with. Doesn't matter if it's for work, or enjoyment, only a PROPER tool, is safe to use.
@MyouKyuubi3 жыл бұрын
@@beanexmachina5833 Exactly, but most sound engineers aren't formally educated, nor are they smart... It's one of those professions you can just, pick up, randomly, and start earning money from, with... relatively minimal effort. I've heard many a flaws in songs on spotify with my Sundara... You don't need to spend an arm and a leg on decent studio equipment, but these sound engineers are stubborn and bigoted. : / They will insist on "what works", except, it doesn't work at all, they just THINK it works, because it sounds good on THEIR equipment, and they earn money from it, so they ASSUME they've produced and mastered their songs properly... When I just want to sit back relax and chill to music it's the Z1R but when I want to really listen and pick out all the little details it's the AP2000ti and to some extent the Arya but they can be for both.

I bought these... and they are not comfortable. They clamp like hell, the top part digs into your head with uneven pressure and the pads are not as deep as the 6xx/600 series, no way, they are not the same material because they seem to wear much more easily. I agree about the songs, some sound great and some sound like you're wondering what the hell is going on? Are these the same headphones? The cable is just atrocious, I think you can use it to catch a crocodile with it.

I just got them today and my first impression was the exact same lots of clamp at the top and very little clamp on the bottom. I slid the extensions a little more than what I thought I needed and they fit like a dream instantly, even pressure all around my ear and can barely tell it's on the top of my head. Probably too late for the OP but anyone else who runs across this comment.

I run mine on a IFI Zen Dac and it is pretty good. I also run a Fidelio x2HD. Honestly the x2 have are more lively but these 560s are smooth. I game a lot and the smooth sound is easier to handle over time. not to say the x2's are bad. I like to get the best value. Outside the loose fit the Philips SHP9500 are amazing for the money. no bass but just so clean.

Zeos which would you recommend best for listening to anime ost’s and classical music: These (560s), the Jubilees (58x), or the drop senn 38x gaming headphones? I’ll also be using them for gaming but i’m assuming that all of them would be good enough for gaming. Or is there another set of headphones you would recommend that is under $200? I appreciate your enthusiastic reviews and I hope you keep the good work going!

Ive bought and returned the sennheiser HD 560s TWICE! Left driver was in both cases more sensible around 8k-13k making the sound image tilt to the left by 5-10% I've done mono tests, reverse test, reverse stereo image + reverse hp to rule out my ears being sensible to specific frequencies, friend test etc This is not acceptable! (I didn't pay to get a headache and a deaf ear)

I had the same experience - the left cup was noticeably louder.

Same in my pair. It's actually confirmed, look at the rtings review for HD560s. The right driver's frequency response limps by a lot in the 1k to 3k range. Totally inexcusable.
@magnikjaer8034 ай бұрын
@@naircat It’s just such a shame, because the headset is so comfortable. The most important thing for me is comfort, and most hi-fi headphones ive tried have been uncomfortable. Do you know any headset, that have the same level of comfort as this one?

Don't fret boyz, it's just qc. Mine are perfect. There was a silly high demand on release which sennheiser didn't expect so they got onto China to hurry up. China then began to fack some of the units up. People have had buzzy cups and channel imbalance etc. Channel imbalance will be a driver fault or in-correctly placed damping materials. The buzzy cups were simply a job of tightening the screws under the pads properly xx

The Beyerdynamic DT990 are sibilant on most $100 headphone amps but very detailed. They secret to good sound with them is to listen at low levels or to power them on a very good amp. They are one of my favorite headphones.

V shaped sound with which vocals do not even sound normal. But damn, they are comfortable
@jaredferguson29994 жыл бұрын
@@Hirnlego999 I could be crazy but I think that the vocals sound very natural. Of course, I could be weird, people always say that the HD650s have killer vocals but I've had them for a couple of years and they still seem sort of shouty to me, not that it bothers me

@@jaredferguson2999 Perhaps this is the Sennheiser curve some speak about? The 560s were my first Sennheiser and sadly it's a return for me. I'm quite pleased with AKG K273Pro but hope for something slightly better. The AKGs are much more neutral. (701 are very bright, returned them too) I now have K371 on their way.

FU Zeos, for once again reaching into my wallet. FU once more for making me buy a tube amp to go with them. Would these be a substantial upgrade from the 598 as far as either staging or sound signature?
@VeggiePopper4 жыл бұрын
Regarding staging and soundstage, it should be about the same (which is not a bad thing, the 598 is well regarded for that), since that depends a lot in the housing and the 560S is pretty much a 598 with a different driver. However, WHAT A DRIVER! Although staging and imaging are not too different from its predecessors, sound quality and sound signature are definitely miles ahead of the 598 and 599 thanks to the new driver.
@jaredferguson29994 жыл бұрын
I'd personally rather a DT880 or even 990 (the 990s highs get incredibly accurate in diffuse field once the pads wear in, before that they're terrible so use discretion and grains of salt and all that) for the price, but if you're set on these they are a much better set in terms of signature. Stage is similar
