Hi Brittany, Amazing tips! I started Zepbound 6 weeks ago. I did my second shot of 5mg today. I didn't really feel like I was dropping weight until literally this week. I try not to get discouraged and I continue with my workouts 5 days a week. I have lost a total of 12 pounds in 6 weeks which I am proud of. I have had people hate on my progress because they think I am "cheating" , but I have a thyroid issue that made it difficult for me to lose weight. YES on the protein. I try to snack every 2 hours to avoid getting nauseous either cottage cheese, a boiled egg, almonds, etc and LOTS of water it has helped. I mix collagen to my coffee in the morning and it has helped me with tightening of my skin. Love your videos (and dogs 🥰)

Thank you for telling people to be accountable for their own actions. People are always saying it is the easy way out but so many people fail at it because it isn't easy and they aren't losing after taking their shot 20 minutes ago.

I am on my 12th (3 months) Mounjaro 7.5 injection. Lost 37lbs. Down 37 from 320,now at 283. Figure 3.08 lbs. per week. I eat twice a day, moderate size meals. I want this to work, it’s too expensive to throw your money away. I cut out sugar 1 month before starting and still vigilant on that decision. I do have gastrointestinal problems from the medication that’s combined with my already set in place for years medications. I eat whole foods only, no more processed foods. No cakes cookies pies sodas. It is tough to go from eating anything I wanted to this meal regiment. It’s all my choice. It’s not a prescribed diet by a dietician. BTW, when leaving my Endocrinologist office after she placed the prescription, her words were “Good Luck”. There was a mention of moderate amounts of protein and vegetables, nothing more. If You set your own rules and keep on track with your rules, there is gradual success. If you cheat, please plan on being near a restroom. Best advice I can give. Good Luck!

Question: what would cause diarrhoea the most? Obviously, alcohol, fried food, fatty foods but is there anything else I should look out for that might surprise me? Thanks
@hlm34
@hlm34 Ай бұрын
@@SharonFitzgerald I cannot answer your question because I am on a regimen of doctor prescribed medications I have been using for years as I mentioned above. The medications are: Allopurinol, Xarelto, Atorvastatin, Glimepiride,Losartan. I drink water with all meals, coffee with creamers is a cleanser. I eat veggies first, proteins and fats second, carbs third. Sometimes it’s impossible to follow that sequence. I find myself eating smaller meals because I am training myself to eat so when I am no longer on Mounjaro and I have met my weight goals. I know what I ate during that weight loss period to sustain my weight. I might eat one slice of unbuttered rye bread for breakfast with the meal. Beyond the meds prescribed I take a daily vitamin, potassium, magnesium, vitamin B12, iron and immune pill a day. So you see I cannot answer your question with certainty. It depends on what you ingest per meal, I haven’t eaten at a McDonald’s/ Burger King or any other fast food since beginning Mounjaro 3 months ago. I stopped eating processed foods. There are people who get constipated from these GLP-1 medications. But if you find yourself questioning whether to go the GLP-1 treatment, try non processed foods by themselves and eating only 1/3 of the meal you usually eat with water. You will loose weight, but the challenge will be if you can sustain that regimen. It’s also cheaper than the GLP-1 course. It’s a tough decision to make. Only you know your situation and your goals. I could write for hours on the weight losses I have tried and failed and regained it all back and then some. Because of my age, I elected this journey to improve my health, come what be, diarrhea/constipation, I will put up with the side affects so I can feel good of my health, maybe drop some meds along the way and not need a team of EMS workers to pick me up to put me in a gurney. Once, I was 370lbs 10 years ago, passed out in a food store, two jacked EMS workers couldn’t budge me to the gurney, I asked them to steady my hands, I got into the gurney myself. It was my wake up call to loose weight. Good luck with your decision, maybe consult an Endocrinologist for the medication and guidance if you go the GLP-1 journey.

If I were not committed to Mounjaro, I would seriously consider trying Anti-Spike sold by Glucose Revolution on KZbin. It comes in pill form to reduce glucose spikes. It’s just a thought to give you an alternative for weight loss and lower blood sugar spikes. Jesse’s videos are super informative and Jesse is a biochemist that is very descriptive in her videos. It’s worth a look.

Thank you very much! I just started my Mounjaro journey today. I'm a T2D but I've been effectively been controlling my blood sugar with diet alone (A1C < 6.5) using a CGM for the past 4 years, but no luck with weight loss. Given I'm morbidly obese (according to the medical definition), my age and lack of weight loss and lack of change in weight, I think the risk of the weight outweights the risk of the weight loss. I have no expectations of weight loss but I would definitely welcome a change. I will definitely increase the water intake. To you statement Metformin is a wonder drug, I literally hate Metformin side effects. One of the reasons I went to diet only to control my blood sugar because Metformin side effects were horrible.

💧🌊🌊 Totally agree with you! Lots of PROTEIN! Lots of water! Resistance/strength training. And yes, journaling. And do your research beforehand. I had to self research cause all my doctor said was watch what you eat and exercise, see you in 3 months. Gee thanks, that was helpful😬! So thank you for putting the information out there!❤

Hello!! If you love salad, but can't do the lettuce, try a salad of spinach instead. I have found that it doesn't cause the same issues that lettuce does. I do have IBS, and the way you talked about your symptoms, sounds like my reaction to lettuce. Good luck!! 🌊

Good point about increasing protein intake, cannot be mentioned enough. But you should not rely too heavily on animal protein: saturated fat, no fibre, high calorie density, factory farming, antibiotica resistance, etc. There are tons of studies, confirming long-term health issues related to too much animal product consumption. You definitely do not want to outway your health-gain by losing weight with long-term health risk by increasing animal protein consumption. Good low calorie alternatives are tofu, lentil, beans, saitan, soy curls, also numerous plant protein powders. I am eating plant-based and have no problem getting in 100 g of protein per day with only 1400 calories.

After a whole month on 2.5, I only lost 7lbs ish… this is after extremely careful eating and daily exercise. I’ll give 5mg a try but don’t think I’ll do it for another month
@AnnHoffman-lm5fm
@AnnHoffman-lm5fm Ай бұрын
Stay on the 2.5 as long as you are losing. I did 2.5 two months before moving up. 7 lbs is great! If you push up too fast, you have nowhere to go, and you are not training your mind and body to continue your healthy journey if you stop taking the medication. Slow and steady wins! Just my thoughts. Good luck! 3:38 😊😊@😊

Did you get an answer about what to do for exhaustion?
@Wolven_Angel
@Wolven_Angel Ай бұрын
I know it seems counterintuitive because if you're tired who wants to work out but honestly excercise is the best cure for being "tirzepitired". I've found that i'm seriously exhausted the first 2-3 days after a shot and i think there's honestly nothing that will completely cure this. But exercise, especially anything involving weights (not cardio!) makes me feel tons better. Not completely better but much better than before the workout.

Maybe the dose you’re on is too strong? You should still feel hungry enough to reach your protein goal most days. IMO if you’re constantly not hungry, I’d say that’s a sign the dose might be too high. Hope that helps. 🙏🏽💕

Protein powders can be added to lots of different foods. Also protein drinks. One of my favorites though is actually using collagen powder (different than protein powder) in my morning coffee or tea. Not only does it benefit my hair, skin, joints, etc, but it’s also provides a good amount of protein and the amino acids necessary for making more muscle, etc.
