As a matter of interesrt, in ther year 1915 the Zeppelins flew 350 scouting missions, and only 38 (!) bombing/attack missions.Great video. As always. I enjoy your videos so much. Prefer them rather often more then most crappy films on TV etc.

Gosh, those spotters trying to find a target cut it really close, but then they mixed up a whiskey warehouse with Victoria station? Yikes! I think they may have been tipping some whiskey on the flight over the channel. :) Great episode, really fun to watch. :)

Don't know if the rules mention it, but there is an interesting background to the fact that you rolled for your mission background, resulting in the bombing attack of London incl. taking a passenger along being Peter Strasser, the Commander in Chief of the German Naval Airship operations, at 2:30 . As rule 9.3 mentions (see 2:40), that if Strasser is killed or severely wounded during the mission, the mission counts as failed. Strasser pushed for strategic bombing strikes which resulted in high casualty rates of airships and crew members. Ironically Strasser himself became a vicim of his own ideology, being killed during a bombing raid.

I see a point of confusion in the rules. The rulebook says to roll for encounters if you are in a North Sea box or in a target box, but A3 says, "Roll over North Sea boxes, land boxes, and after bomb drop." The rules do not say to roll over land boxes but the chart does. By the way, thanks for the helpful video; I'm subscribing.

Just in passing: English folks from the County of Norfolk pronounce the town of Norwich without speaking the W .... so it reads as "Norich." See 10:51 BTW, SPOILER ALERT: Had such a great laugh when you (actually the Germans) hit the target in London. See 19:25 Just imagine it would have been a "Schnaps" or beer warehouse/factory. The entire crew might have had nightmares for the rest of their lives.

Joe, thank you so much. I am completely new to board games but this has grabbed my attention... one point, when you rolled d6. + d20 you only took the d20 number rather than add them. Why was that? Welcome to the world of board Wargames! That particular target table, the one for London, has 40 different results. The table’s instructions state that the d6 is treated differently (1-3: no addition to the 20-sided die result; 4-6: add 20 to the 20-sided die result).

Less whiskey = less courage. I would call that a successful mission. Even though the rules call to roll for weather once per mission i think its more suspenful on every turn like you did and still realistic.

What happens if the zeppelin takes too much damage? Does the gas ignite and burn the craft?

It could go down several ways, including ignition.

@@StukaJoe several ways? So theres other ways to destroy an airship? I always thought all airship deaths were from the gas igniting and burning the zeppelin up. The RFC started using incendiary ammunition against airships if im not mistaken.

@@cadjebushey6524 Incendiary bombs were also used by being dropped unto the airships. Many also had to do emergency landings (being shot at from plans, flak, technical problems, running out of fuel, weather issues like lightning strikes etc.). BTW, quite a few damaged (burning and blowing up) in their hangars/halls or maoeuvering in or out of them.

Norr whitch, it's spelled wrong on the maps it's Norwich , I now have the passenger missions thanks bgg , but I'm too old for bgg they use to small fonts/sign in password s nah ,,, there are also some other map ambiguity,,,,hage/wittmund should join nordhole, and tondern simmuarely, why does not a airfield become available in Belgium !? There was one / what is my status if I'm forced landed in neutral territory?? Liverpool should be where Manchester is located ,,,this is a very expensive game even second hand without the postage/import charges , unclear, it should clearly state if u can vent change altitude after an encounter,,,i suspect u can't but it's nor solidly stated ,,,,, allso if i successfully Sink a merchantman or battleship don't i get points for that !?? I love this game it's a shame it's so SPI beer n pretzels, the counters should b at least up to Devil Pigs standards, I want to get all the interceptor/ww1flyin ace / nightfigher , but they're £100 quid each. ,,,,, wow 😂👍
