Thanks for watching! Please watch all the way to the end and let me know if there's any videos you want more content on for this scooter.
Here we go with round 2 of range tests on my ZERO 8X. This time Im taking it until the battery dies…no more guesstimating range! I was really surprised by the results of this test. I really didn’t think it was gonna be like that!
Performance on the scooter was amazing. I didn’t lose really any power until it was minutes away from running out of charge. My acceleration test was a little disappointing in my opinion but this test makes up for it. This scooter is a BEAST!
Super excited to share this with you, I hope you enjoy!

First one. Appreciate the detailed zero 8x videos. . One question-how do you find the ride quality with the solid tires and spring/shock suspension? Is there much cushioning? Keep up the great work.
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I really appreciate that. The solid tires you definitely notice. Especially on rough terrain. They also make a decent amount of noise. Not as in while they are moving, but going over bumps they make a solid thud. Suspension is good enough for me. I haven’t adjusted them at all. I think the cushioning is good just the tires don’t give too much. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for saying that! That’s part of the reason I started the channel. Before I bought the scooter I couldn’t find too much info about it so I figured I would just make all the info about it! I promise you won’t be disappointed if you do buy it. It’s been a year and it’s still just as fun to ride as it was the first day I got it!

Outstanding. The Zero scooter line is a quality product. Questions come to mind... Any overheating issues? Does it hurt the batteries at all running it down to 40 volts? Wonder how many charging cycles we can get out of these scooters before battery replacement become necessary.

Thanks! None at all. It was a solid ride. I would imagine if you ran the batteries low every day like that it would shave some life off of it. It’s very similar in electric vehicles. Not a great idea to go under 10% capacity too often. When I charged it up after it went right back up to 58.8 tho. Im very close to 600 miles now too. Seems to be just fine. This is the first time I’ve gotten it to empty tho.

If I had to do it over again I honestly couldn’t tell you what I would do. I’ve been out riding with a friend and he has a 10x. I’ve ridden it just for a bit. It feels a lot smoother. I just had a really bad experience with another model scooter and flat tires. I didn’t want to worry about that ever. But the tires on the 10x are pretty beefy compared to the old scooter I had.

As far as the next range test....I have considered seeing how far it really could go. It’s just so hard to ride this thing in that configuration because I know how fast it can go! 😂 But I will add it to the list of videos! Thanks for watching!

That's great! I have m365 with 500 km on clock allready, and I can really feel less power, and less range too. So I want something better, first I wanted Kaabo Mantis Lite or Kaabo Mantis 8, but from view of quality Mantis isn't best option by many experiences of users. But how I see from yours videos about Zero 8x this scooter is really bulletproof. Thank you for your effort with making these videos! I think I'll buy this scooter. :)

I know you’ve had the scooter for a while now and I’ve watched several of your videos but I’m just curious how many miles do you have on the scooter currently? I’m thinking about getting the 26 amp hour version but I’m just trying to determine how many miles these things can go. I know yours is still going strong so only time will tell but I’m just curious how far you’ve gone so far.

Michael Montelin thanks so much! I really appreciate you watching. I just looked and I have 585 miles on it. I got it last August and my plan was to do 1000 mile or 1 year review. Now that the weather is getting nicer I’ll be riding it more than I have in the last few months. So it’s tough to say which mark I’ll hit first. But I will do a video on that. I don’t really have any complaints about this thing. It’s really customizable. Goes fast enough for me. My commute isn’t that far but like you saw in the video even the 18ah battery gets a nice range. Either way you’re gonna have a blast on it!

A Day in the Life of Mr. 23 Thanks man for letting me know. If I recall correctly they do Offer financing options on these scooters. Do you recall seeing anything about an option to finance?
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 4 жыл бұрын
Michael Montelin no problem at all. They do offer financing. It isn’t a terrible deal but I think the interest is gonna be kinda high. I had just got a credit card not for the scooter but happened to be about the same time and it was no interest for 12 months on the card. So I sorta made my own payment plan. But they definitely have an option for that

Hi, how are you doing? So, have you ever thought of getting an external battery in order to increase the range of your scooter. The Falcon PEV (in Singapore) are selling a kit to do this upgrade. You would basically double the capacity of your ride. It is a bit pricy though (650 SGD$). I have a Zero10 that goes 40km and I am thinking about it, so that I can really stop think of going soft on my trips. what do you think? Thanks.
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 4 жыл бұрын
Hey there. Doing good thanks....Hope you are too! I did see that video they posted about the external battery but like you said, that price just seems so high for what it is. Almost half the cost of the scooter is in the battery. 40km isn’t too bad. For me I don’t think I could justify the cost for the additional battery because I don’t need to go farther than a few miles on my normal commute. I guess if you NEED that extra range it would be a solution for sure. But I think for now it’s a bit out of the price range I want to spend for upgrades. Thanks for the comment!

naiMADos ZEROs hello! Thanks for watching and commenting. I too have the 18 ah battery. The manufacture is powersinc. I was keeping it at the same minimum speed as you. It’s really interesting to see if that 9-10kg would make that big of a difference in range. I plan on doing a review around half that distance when I get to 1000 miles or 1610 km. That should be right around a year after having the scooter as well. Thanks again!!

WOW OVER 18 On the 18ah powersinc (IMPRESSIVE) what is your gut on the 26ah LG Cells? I simply must have 25mile round trip range. You think it’s doable on the 26ah version? Rev has them in stock for $2k
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 4 жыл бұрын
Seriously impressive! I think the LG cells will outperform the powersinc. Although there isn’t anything wrong yet with the powersinc what I do know about batteries is you get what you pay for. Mainly with batteries in the form of capacity. Usually a better brand battery is gonna be closer to its advertised specs as far as what it’s milliamperes rating is. Mostly cheaper batteries will over promise but under deliver on their results. But then add in 8 more ah with that as well on the LG and I think you’re smashing 25 miles. Keep in mind though this is basically top speed dual motor in turbo the whole way gear 3. I imagine if you had it in gear 2 with dual motors and turbo you’re getting 25+ all day no problem especially with 26ah. Gear 2 is no snail either. Peppy and fun with a top speed of 24-26mph.

Mine is the 18ah and has powersinc batteries. I haven’t had an issue with them yet. I don’t believe they are making the powersinc ones anymore though. I think they are all LG now. Only difference is reliability. LG is a brand name and will typically be more reliable on the specs they post for the individual cells.....(ah ratings and such) I have over 600 miles on mine and haven’t had any issues with decreased capacity or anything like that. I think the main difference is just gonna be piece of mind in knowing you have a brand name battery vs generic.

I believe it’s bad for the battery to be used up to zero capacity, or not for this one? Tnx
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 3 жыл бұрын
Hello. You are correct, it is not good to run batteries to zero. But with a pre built battery pack like this the BMS and/or the speed controller make it so that “zero capacity” isn’t truly zero. That is a safety measure to protect the battery from being damaged. The voltage on the battery was still 41 volts when the scooter could no longer operate. So 41 volts for this battery pack is “zero capacity” not actually zero. Great question, I hope that made sense how I explained it. Thanks for watching!
