Thanks for watching! Please watch all the way to the end and let me know if there's any videos you want to see more content on.
This upgrade is LONG overdue! Ive been putting it off because I was a little intimidated by running the brake lines through the stem……but, I did it!
This was an easy upgrade too and I really wish I would have done it sooner! The performance of the brakes is amazing. I was really impressed with how much more confidence I have riding now. It just feels like it should have been there all along. You get immediate brake power with the hardly any effort.
If you’ve been considering this upgrade….DO IT!
Super excited to share this with you, I hope you enjoy!

herbert leo thanks! I have seen that too. I bought replacement tires but I haven’t installed them yet. They are just the same as the stock ones. But I will definitely make a video on changing those because I know it’s gonna be a challenge and other people will want to know how to do it. Thanks again!

Another fantastic video! I’m wondering if there’s anyway to have ABS on these hydraulic brakes? So as to prevent skidding? I don’t know anything about that technology of how it prevents brake lock up.

Thank you! I started wondering that too after I installed them. Wouldn’t know where to start with that but worth looking into! Even though it doesn’t seem like a big difference in performance you really feel the difference. Feels much more solid in my opinion.

Hello! I haven’t been able to see one in person but I would imagine the process will be very similar.....sorta like brakes on a bike. I definitely would recommend the upgrade tho. Love the stopping power with these! Let me know what you end up doing. I’m curious to see how it goes for you

Great work thanks. I was thinking of doing this for my 10x doesn't look like a huge difference?
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 3 жыл бұрын
chefgav1 I think there are ups and downs to both systems of brakes. The reason the tests look so similar is because I needed to adjust to the new brakes. Not really like a learning curve but they are so much more sensitive that it’s easier to lock them up and when you start sliding or skidding you can’t control the rate that you slow down. If I were to do those tests after several days of riding you would see much better performance with the hydraulic brakes. Just overall less maintenance once you dial them all in. I would absolutely recommend upgrading! Thanks for watching!

A Day in the Life of Mr. 23 Hey mate just a quick question about your voltage is your voltage LCD screen number the same as the controller voltage number? Only asking as there is a difference between the 2 on mine and I’m not sure which one is more accurate Thanks in advance
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 3 жыл бұрын
No problem at all! The 10x is a beast too! It’s tough to say about the voltage. It’s best to get a reading when you are at full throttle and use the voltmeter. When you are on and off the throttle it fluctuates way too much to be accurate and when you aren’t moving I don’t think it’s a good gauge either. I think the best thing is to run it dead and see how far you can push it. I didn’t think there was any way I was getting over 10 miles in gear 3 with dual turbo based on the volt readings but I ended up with over 18.

Thanks for the great video! One question pls (maybe a silly question sorry): If the liquid is pressurised inside, why it doesn't come out when you cut the cable?? And, with mechanical, we can adjust the wire tightness, length etc, but with hydraulic, how do you adjust the level of torque you would like to get when breaking? Many thanks! :)
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 3 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thank you for the comment. The liquid isn’t necessarily pressurized. There’s a small reservoir on the lever and when you squeeze the lever it pushes the fluid to the caliper. So when you cut the lines it just leaks out. Similar to mechanical brakes the torque is determined by how much pressure you apply to the lever. It is just a far more sensitive to the pressure you apply.....meaning it’s just easier to apply maximum brake force vs mechanical. It’s a more efficient system than mechanical.

Hi Does the kit come with bleed tools and hydraulic fluid. The kit i see from Falcon Pev , says brakes are Pre assembled. This means it would be impossible to run the cable without bleeding the brakes. Any help would be appreciated
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 3 жыл бұрын
Hello. The kit comes pre filled and bled. If additional adjustments need to be made you will have to supple the tools needed for bleeding or adding additional fluid. They come with caps to keep the fluid in but that’s about it. In my experience I didn’t need to bleed the brakes. Hope that helps!

Hi! One question please: I received this brakes from Falcompev, but olives are missing :( I also purchased the ones you advice from Amazon. But olives are different in external shape. Do you know if those 'gold' olives from Amazon will work good as well? Or could I suffer oil leakage? Thanks!

Hey! What a bummer they didn’t include them. Perhaps try contacting them to see if they could sent out the correct ones? As for the other ones I’m not too certain about those. I don’t see why they wouldn’t work but I don’t know enough about them to say for sure. The way it works is it actually crushes inside the brake lever and that creates a seal.....so I would think as long as it fits in the opening it will work when tightened down but that’s just my thoughts. Let me know how it works out for you, thanks!

Hello there! Top speed is 33-34mph or 53-54kmh. It really only does that for a shot while after a full charge or down a slight hill. Real life top speed is 27-29mph or 43-46kmh. I don’t know too much about the dual mantis but I know you won’t be unhappy with the 8x. I love this thing! Thanks for the comment

do u recommend solid tires?
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 3 жыл бұрын
I personally do for my type of riding. I do a lot of street riding and in bike lanes. Already 2 separate times I’ve gotten 3” nails in my tire and was able to keep riding. No way you can do that with pneumatic tires. If you do a lot more off roading then solid tires wouldn’t be for you. That was the biggest selling point for this scooter for me. I didn’t want to ever have to deal with flats.

It isn’t the greatest. Especially once you get some wear on the tires it gets a little slick. But not to the point where I feel unsafe riding. I don’t ride it too much it bad weather but going through some wet areas I do notice some slipping.

@@ADayintheLifeofMr23 Broke my elbow on barely damp asphalt due to them slipping. Do you know of any way of converting the 8x to pneumatic?
@ADayintheLifeofMr23
@ADayintheLifeofMr23 3 жыл бұрын
Ouch!! Glad to hear you are relatively ok. The problem I see with converting the current set up is the valve stem. That usually goes through the rim in a normal setup. There isn’t a way to feed that valve stem through the current rim. It would require some serious modifications if it could be done. How fast were you going when you fell??

Not initially. The manufacture claimed they were all ready to use. But after they sat for a few weeks without being used they were very squishy and not as responsive. So they did have to be bled then.
