Zero Garage - Honda Y7 to Y8 Manifold Swap Install

Finally got around to installing the manifold for my 2 door Civic.
still got alot to clean up on the lines and hoses, but its installed.

This Is Awesome, Great Video. . I have a 2000 Civic Coupe DX but Auto, but later I'll have it swap to Manual (that's gonna take a while though, it's not in my Budget Yet 😔, Slowly but Surely though) but for now I would like to do this. I'm looking at a mani on Amazon, but I'm scared to buy it cause it might not be compatible with my car. Any Tips from you or anyone on YT Will be Appreciated. I have a d16y7 automatic engine and i bought a y8 at intake manifold and his respective throttle body. Can i use the Y8 throttle body or i hace to swap to Y7 throttle body?. Ty

If I don't run my fuel pressure regulator vaccum hose to the back side like u did and run it to to one should I plug the back one

yes always plug them if you aren't using it.. or you will have a vacuum leak

Idk what to do I have a 98ex and put a y7 in it and running my y8 manifold and don’t know what to do when I use the stock y7 computer the car won’t idle right. If that just run I’m using the y8 harness and don’t know what to do need help please.

What size hose did you buy and how many feet ? After did it run good no check engine light or issues ?

I don't remember the hose size but I got 2 3 foot pieces. As long as you hook up everything correctly it should run fine no issues or check engine lights. Mine has been running fine since the swap, got a lot more torque it was noticeable.

That is just a cheap DNA short ram from ebay. like 30 dollars..lol it works

yes, a little and more torque. The original manifold is terrible on these engines.

Is your car auto and you used a manual intake?

No my car is a manual, the IACV on this Y7 is on the throttle body. The manifold for the Y8 "manual" has the IACV on the manifold. If you use the Auto Throttle body you wont have to block off the holes.

Z6 better head vtec hits harder on z6 and it’s a better build y8 aren’t bad but they tend to have messed up bearings over time because it’s not lubed properly the y8 has the better intake manifold tho. Z6 is more reliable because it’s built better

you don't really gain HP. If so its not noticeable. I did gain a bit of torque though.. faster off the line defiantly.

Everyone has their own way of doing things, If it's over complicated, well mabe to you but not someone else. I would rather move the presure guage then hack up the throttle body cam ear as I can use this on a different engine when I get an upgraded throttlebody.

not sweating it. I think he is a troll, You never know though everyone's the youtube master mechanic. ft it's not fitting just get a saw and hack off half of it...haha I am just sharing what I have learned along the way. If someone doesn't like it.. they can make a "better" video and upload it..lol
