I just found this video. Thank you for realism! Everybody talks about their nice cleaning products, they show how they work on the counters that are already clean and that's it. This video actually made me want to try sustainable cleaning ways because you actually showed that it works even on dirty surfaces! I am for sure subscribing!

it is so nice to see an honest view into someone's home, and see how it's actually looks when people live there instead of just seeing it when it's been cleaned

I love the honesty of the video, seeing a normal house that gets dirty since actual normal people live there makes me feel good and seing the normal result and not being super aesthetic and perfect and instead being realistic makes me feel a lot better

We use one of my hubbys shoes to clean the livingroom rug. We call them 'karvakengät' in finnish, wich means 'hairshoes' in english. 😃 It's so much fun to put on the shoes and start 'kicking' like a chicken. That's the one thing our kids like to clean too. 😅

yeah and we both have full-time jobs, so it has been really important to us that we each have our own "responsibility zones" hehe, that way we can do it when our schedules allow it, which works so well for us. On the day of filming this video my job was the cleaning I guess ✨

I have to be careful about what I use/ how I clean my house because my husband has really bad asthma where literally everything causes his lungs to seize up. I’ve definitely found that zero waste options are the best for this since I make mine from scratch and therefor can limit the amount of scent that I use. The harsh chemicals in a lot of cleaners even make my breathing difficult! I also have to wet dust with a damp cloth instead of dry dust to keep it out of the air and can never use air fresheners. Just means I have to keep on top of it more so that nothing ever smells.

You’re so cute with the radiator! I had that with my lamp. But the worst was - now that I know there is dirt there, I can’t un-know there is dirt there, so it’s something else to clean all the time!

You have such a soothing voice. I don't know if you get many comments about your voice (and positive ones I hope!) but I find it so nice to listen to and for some reason it makes things seem more interesting. I've already transitioned majority of my life to zero waste but your voice helps me stay motivated haha sorry if that sounds weird. Love a good clean with me video and of course love a good zero waste clean with me video. As far as I know you have been the only one whose made a clean with me video, other low waste youtubers only make videos and only talking about the products, not actually filming them in action. Although if you know of any other vids like this that you can recommend, this fan will really enjoy that.

No shoes for cleaning rugs here, but I do use an old hair brush which does the trick 👌 With the hair that accumulates in only a short period of time, I will NEVER understand why anyone would want wall to wall carpet - I spent an exchange year in England for uni, and the first thing I did was vacuum that wall to wall carpet in my room. And let me tell you: it was NASTY. 😅 We were gifted some older carpets by family when we moved into our apartment, but if we ever are to get new ones, I will definitely choose some flatwoven ones, to avoid the problem altogether 🤣🤣

OK… Gittemary… I just gotta say that the collection of dust bunnies on your radiator is nothing compared to the collection of dust rhinoceroses that we have on our TV/stereo system. It’s like a lunar landscape, and since my partner is the entertainment system dude… I’m leaving it to him round up the dust rhinos and deal with it. (We might be waiting a while!!) Thanks for this fun cleaning vlog Gittemary!! PS - just wondering if you ever miss the kitchen shower in your old apartment??😂 PPS - I saw in your windowsill the cute little wire basket that you got on your recent Island hiking adventure. That l’il basket is a total score!! 🌎💦Ⓜ️ary💕

Haha I love the idea of dush rhinos 😂✨ Haha, honestly, sometimes I do, I loved having a shower while my pasta was simmering, such a mood haha - and the little soap holder in the shower was great for a glass of wine to, you don't get that level of home-wellness with having to shower in your kitchen 🎉🎉

Don't worry dear you're not the only one who does the rubber shoe thing! My filipino parents have been doing that since I was young so I wonder how other people do it. For the Science part, it's static electricity! There's ions in our hair and the rubber and when they touch, they attract! Think of it like dubbing a balloon on your head and how it sticks up

Can you show how you let your dish cloth / dish brush dry between uses? How many different dishwashing tools do you keep by the sink?
@Gittemary3 жыл бұрын
I have a bottle vase in the window sill by the sink where I put it in between uses so it can fully dry. The cloths I hang over a chair or the radiator to dry 🤗 The different sponges and tools by the sink are for straw/bottle/jar cleaning and then I have some sponges for tough stains and spots, which are made from natural fibers.

I brush my carpet with a dog/cat brush, so I can relate to your shoe technique. I have three long haired animals and the amount of fur is ridiculous even in between vacuuming days. I get a good workout, save all that hair from jamming up my vacuum cleaner, and then I put the hair in our compost. Woohoo.
