I have seen a of your videos but on the linear potentiometer it does not say the closed lenght and the travel lenght as haltech have quite a few options and for the e46 I dont know what to order lenght wise close and open . Because you had one mounted on the e46 maybe you could give me some advice on the 2 aspecte. Thank you

Think they will sell a ton of the dipsticks if priced well. Everyone has been complaining about the electronic dipsticks for a couple of decades now. Only on issue is a simple way to code out the electronic dipstick, if this could be done with a dongle and take next to no IT literacy then it would remove the main barrier to purchase.

I'd really like to here how the simulated clutch works/is tuned in the trans. Are the solenoids PWM, are you actuating transmission clutches with the converter clutch locked, actuating both, line pressure control, shift strategies with the converter locked or unlocked, etc? I'd love to hear the nitty gritty details for how it functions from a technical standpoint and what kind of power you can put through the trans on boosted launches and "clutch kicks" without blowing through the clutches or having significant wear over time.
@ZeroTo60Tube2 жыл бұрын
There's no way to sugar coat this. We dont know lol. From a user standpoint all you can control in the correlation between pedal potion and percentage of clutch the TCU sees. We have no idea what stageries are in place in the tcu to make it all work. However as you will see in the next video. It feels like a real manual clutch.

Also why not delete all the moving parts and make a spring style set up inside the cabin to achieve the same result?
@maxgr77232 жыл бұрын
Probably because he wants it to look like an oem inside the car. Id say as of right now, youll peobably need to only produce the additional stuff to the n54 cylinder and thats a dealkeeper for a lot of people. You can give them a list of needed oem things plus this thing there and bam it works. Otherwise as you mentioned, youd be in need to produce a complete activation mechanism...
@mikespeksnijder86502 жыл бұрын
every n54 needs a oilpangasket anyway so why not built one directly in the pan so you can have both the dipstick and the sensor, and do the sump pans on exchange basis.
@ZeroTo60Tube2 жыл бұрын
Brock was working on a design that incorporates the factory sensor as well. It’s a little more bulky than this but not too bad. Main reason no to do the full sump version is the cost of posting a sump. It would be redic.

When are we going to see an 8hp in the 4.6is? I’m considering going that way…
@ZeroTo60Tube Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I have ran in to some unexpected bills, relating to the man who took my laptop. So the 4.6 will be going up for sale. I can’t afford to keep it unfortunately.
@marchdeane4896 Жыл бұрын
@@ZeroTo60Tube Ahhh mate… Thats terrible news. Have you done anything else to the box since the last time you had it apart? Im not sure if you remember but you gave me some pretty helpful advice when I had my box out. I did replace clutch packs and some other seals and that b drum and bearing that had failed. I rebuilt mechatronics unit too. I put mine back in the car and was most pleased when it ran but, I got 300kms out of it and it shat itself again. I have since bought a donor 4.6 and used a box from that which had a full rebuild from “asnu” transmission services. I have only now got the box back in as doing it on the ground at home is a nightmare but it’s all back together and ready for rego now.

Hey guys, I know this question comes a few years late, but did you ever get the additional power of the fastchip RStuner verified by dyno? I picked up my own RS 265 after watching some of your vids on the car. I'd really like to get it to 300hp and it seems like the most cost effective way to get it there. Cheers

The rstuner kit is epic. Its supposed to be around 295hp ish, but i was very happy with the kick in midrange power regardless of peak numbers.

So there was a design that encorperated the orginal sensor. Its been put on the back burner for now, as it requires a much larger billet piece and will be a little more expensive. If you are serious, send an email to zeroto60tube@gmail.com and we could maybe get you on a beta tester for the version with the sensor. Just a heads up the sensor version will be around the $600-$800aud mark.
