Seer's Snare being gone for so long is an atrocity in itself because it was one of the few times I had a lot of fun with the game. Now there's just nothing to really enjoy after catching up on everything which feel more like chores over time.

Before, HoF was the most fun game mode because it let you get a taste of premium power. Now every unit comes with a perfect optimal kit, so pulling a single premium unit might be all you need to feel up to date. Now Seer's Snare is the most fun because it allows for such silly and amusing combinations, and allows you to take your favorite old units and see them surpass all limits. Too bad it only runs like once every other month.

I think is just because they don't know how to monetize that Game Mode and what makes no money is not interesting. And is sad because is a really fun Game Mode but they don't care about that

Honestly, I think they should add more player rank quests. When I reached the end of the quests, I was like “that’s it?”, because I enjoyed having to do all these different quests to get cool units and rewards. As for a different mode, I think it would be nice if they added a recurring mode where they give you older and weaker units that you need to train over time, except unlike Hall of Forms, you’d learn new skills through SP and not RNG, and as time goes on, you could swap your older units for newer units, but you would lose all the levels and skills when you swap.

So glad to see you bring up Tap Battle being completely abandoned, save for some “encores”. I get Tap Battle isn’t a very “Fire Emblem-esque” game mode, but it was a load of fun with playing some great soundtracks, like Twilight of the Gods or the Three Houses Main theme. And for what it’s worth, being able to play the April Fools songs would have been great too. But instead, they threw it away. Same with Rokkr Sieges, we don’t even get those anymore, yet for some reason most of the skill entries still take great care to mention Rokkr area of effect specials. Ok cool IS, so are we getting Rokkr Sieges back then or no? You treat it like it’s still a gameplay mode but you haven’t cycled it back in. I’m tired of the Summoner Duels locking us out of Arena Assaults.

I hate Tap Battles... It was fun the first few times, then it got waaaaay too repetitive and thus boring. The mode could be really fun if they really worked on it though. I don't understand why Rokkr was removed (or even if it is since like you said, they still mention it in the skills.) It was an active mode with a specific combat/objective system and you could use all your favourite units that don't hold up in PvP anymore. It wasn't the best mode, but it was a good mode. I wish they'd do more active events with the forts and fortress system too. Back in the days I was always so impatient for Grand Conquest to come back because I loved using the units my friends built and share with me with my own units. Some specific maps were very interesting too. Due to powercreep it became worse over time, but since I could use my friends' OP meta units I still enjoyed it for the most part. I enjoy Loki's Pawn just because I get to use some of my friends' cool units, I love seeing non-meta units built to the max and kept relevant even to this day. I feel like in general events where you get to play around with all kinds of builds or your friends' units are so much more fun, active and engaging. I also wish they'd stop being stingy af with the rewards... Loki's Pawn Lite is literally useless in terms of rewards.

@@Libellulaire What's more baffling to me is that Rokr had its return hyped only for it to go away once more. I like Pawns of Loki but boy is it frustrating sometimes if you had an unlucky run, but I agree on loving using the builds some people come with

I ignore practically all the modes except Tempest Trials (for the free unit and seals), Lost Lore (easy to do for rewards), and Forging Bonds (to try to level up my many lower-level units quickly and easily)

I do sometimes. It’s just that I like using Forging Bonds more because it automatically adjusts my units to face foes that are close in level to level up and it doesn’t make me continually tap a button until I face more than four opponents

@@unknwnghst I see. You can easily automate the special training though. All you need is Normal 2, Hard 2, and Lunatic to get to level ~40 for all characters. 30 Stamina points. Put your training hero, a valor skill unit if you have, and 1/2 healers with high defences (Linhardt, Lissa, Valentine's Lissa, Sakura), or 1/2 Dancers. Since it seems you don't want to end the Special Maps early by defeating everyone, could do 2 healers + 1 valor skill unit and put it on auto battle. Much more stamina efficient levelling up than Forging Bonds. Add Chill Atk seals and Close/Distant Def seals to make the training more optimal.

This isn’t really a game mode, but they should consider giving us more QoL stuff like music dictation on the game modes where the music is randomized so this way we can listen to our favorite tracks while playing arena or summoner duels

First off, hard agree, it’d be cool to customize our Aether Keeps to play certain music, especially Shadows of Valentia music for me because it’s so grand. (On a slightly unrelated note… Your username looks very familiar, were you playing Summoner Duels yesterday with a team of Ninja Lucina, E!Sigurd, Aided Dagr, B!Chrom, and Otr?)

You can buy music with Aether Affinity and then set specific tracks to play on the Home Screen + Menus, on the Aether Raids menu, at the Aether Resort, and in the Concert Hall (though I agree that we should be able to set music in more places) Also, on a similar note, in cases where the music is randomised, I'd like a feature where you can see what the track name is in case you want to buy it from the Concert Hall

I know I'm shooting for the moon here, but I think it'd be really cool if they introduced some sort of Campaign mode that starts you out with maybe a couple pre-determined units, runs for a few maps where you can maybe recruit some more units to your team, and at the end of the campaign you get to keep one of the units from that campaign. It'd let the devs balance the maps out a bit more since they know what units you'll have, as well as write an actual story about these characters from different games interacting with each other; right now the closest thing we have to a story that doesn't involve the Askr trio is Forging Bonds which is kind of a travesty in a game with so many characters. So basically, make a mode that's like a real Fire Emblem game.

PVP centric game modes are what gave us so much powercreep. But what I dislike the most is how my view on new heroes shifted from "This new unit will be so much fun to use" to "This unit is going to be a pain to play against".

The terrible thing with heroes is we need to simplify it down in our own brains. Like, we can only associate one unit having like 2 major effects at a time. Like Felix having two actions if he doesn't attack, or 3 when attacking. Then he moves like a cav. Or needing to check if he has Celica ring. Emblem Ike has player forced first strike and desperation, and big damage on his attack if he gets it off. Emblem Celica has 6 space threat range and desperation. Stuff like this to keep things simple, we then forget that most of those units have 7 other effects that raise stats and other things, that we forget about it. At least its easy to know who has what, but starting with book 6 and prior, units start to become much more niche and forgettable but still can surprise someone.

One other thing, I also would advocate to just release Tap Battle, and instead of floors just have a library of music to play with. Have a one time reward for each song you complete. New songs get added, more rewards. Use the entire soundtrack and use ones that exist in Concert Hall, as well as the story chapters, gameplay, and rare ones from Mjolnir and TT maps. Then not run it as an event, but just something to enjoy at any time. Tap Battle becomes its own constant mode and moved to "Story" and like where Heroic Ordeals is.

Honestly I stand behind this video completely. I dropped the game about three years ago now and it was precisely because I found that I’d stopped caring for so many of the game modes. It made the game feel like a chore to play, especially as someone without a huge interest in the meta PVP aspects (which is hilarious considering how much I tried to get into Summoner Duels). While I don’t think FEH is going to win me back, I think responding to the criticisms in this video would probably do a lot for those who remain.

I do want more PvE content. AR and arena is, for the most part, just unfun for me. Aside from needing some the latest and greatest units it demands near perfect understanding of the game, and the various strategies in order to do well in them at this point in the game. This, I feel, is what causes FEH to have the same problem as any other gotcha or even games with a heavy online focus. You can't really play this game on your time. You have to play it on FEH's time. I have to find time in my day to play AR regularly which usually means I'm not giving it my 100%, which leads to simple mistakes that cost me all my ladders, and by extension a high AR score at the end of the week. Arena is much the same way as I'm constantly always playing it on the last few days of the weekly season because I didn't really have time before then. I find myself pulling on most banners immediately because, if I don't, I'll forget and miss my free pulls. I missed a Seer's Snare event once and was PISSED because that's one of my favorite modes in the game. Honestly, as much as I hate the powercreep I actually dislike not being able to play the game when I'm ready to play it. Right now the only thing I love doing that I can do whenever I'm ready is decking out my favorite units or building up a new one. That's kinda always been my favorite thing about the game when it finally got included, which I guess is why I'm still playing.

This pretty much hits the nail on the head. We should be getting more game modes a la Seer’s Snare that can allow players to use their favorite units, ones who haven’t been shown as much love in terms of getting alts with upgraded stats/skills (if it applies, since demoted tend to not get them). Game modes like that would make everyone happy, and IS doesn’t have to just appeal to a niche crowd. Like for instance, Seer’s Snare is one of the few game modes where I can use Silas, since IS forgot about him like Corrin forgot about him (lol). If there were more game modes I could use him in, I’d be able to engage in the game way more than I already do.

I love playing Seer Snare, Loki’s Pawn and Røkkr Seige. I honestly hate Mjölnir’s Strike because it’s so boring and it appears like every 2 weeks.

I don't know. I'm just brainstorming. Imagine if they try to adapt stuff from Ironman runs. - Fight through multiple "chapters." - Create something similar to a brigade of heroes that you will be able to use during the event; however, you only start with 3 random heroes out of that brigade. You unlock more of your brigade as you progress through the chapters. Some can be "recruited." Others need to be saved and defended. Others just join. - You can switch out party members in between chapters. - If a hero dies, they are unavailable to be used for the rest of the event run. They can be available again if you restart from the beginning. - Heck, make someone a designated "Lord" character. Make your favorite hero a Lord for a day, complete with instant Game Over upon death.

1) Make a tutorial mode with an interesting story and enticing rewards that PROPERLY explain the mechanics in the game old and new. So that newer (and old) players can actually get to understand what all those thesis sized skill descriptions mean. 2) Make a sandbox mode in which you can put any units (even if you have it or not) with any skills (have them or not) with any building at any level against any other team just to do some testing. Would help a lot in trying out skill behaviors to see if its a good idea to inherit certain skill to certain unit. Kinda like an in game simulator. It would help a ton, you could waste a lot of time fooling around, it would take 0 resources to develop on their end, and Zeshado would have a field trip with it... 3) Release fewer units per month. Atm we get around a dozen new units every month. Each batch introduces new skills, and effects that we have to keep aware of. I know that would mean theyd sell less, but it would help tone down the chaos the game is for many of us... 4) Fix that cursed, disgusting, piece of vomit that is the arena scoring system. I have to abide by the most idiotic rules, like if I have a dancer I cannot put "dance" on him because it doesnt score, and the enemy has none of those limitations. I stopped playing arena after I kept getting matches against +10 WFormortiis with the Celica ring. 5) Find a way to make Forging Bonds and Tempest Trials less grindy... If you dont have a feh pass its just a grind fest honestly...

All modes should run at least once a month. AA and AB should run every week, why SD overrides them is silly.

Using favorites did work for a long time, but now the powercreep is so high that people cannot even beat the PVE versions of new heroes with favorites. And people using newer units run into more issues with it even, like with the tree man and snake lady map

Personally, in addition to Seer's Snare and Rokkr Sieges, I adore Grand Conquest. I missed the last one and I was so sad about it, it's so much fun using my own Hyperinvested characters in conjuction to other people's Hyperinvested characters. And I think that's what also makes Seer's Snare fun for me, you get more skills for your characters to do more damage. Rokkr Sieges is essentially playing God and bullying one big HP sponge with special delaying skills and extra actions. All of them taking 10 years to rerun makes me sad, it's not like a couple of extra orbs is suddenly going to start making people get all the new meta units without having to spend as much.

With all of Awakening’s units now in the game, they should do a FEH version of Awakening where you start with Male Robin, Chrom, Lissa, and Frederick, and essentially play through that game gaining levels, skills, and units until you beat the final boss, Male Robin Grima

I feel that the story of Fire Emblem Heroes is one of the worst I have ever seen. It mainly serves as an introduction to new heroes rather than telling a story. I get that FEH is a gatcha game. But a good game (even a gatcha) should tell a good story too. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that our current stories were just a big prank from Loki. Other gatcha games do this much better. Yes, they introduce new characters in their stories as well. But they are part of the main storyline. As examples come Final Fantasy Brave Exvius: WOTV and NIKKE in mind. Final Fantasy Brave Exvius: WOTV has an huge story with currently 3 parts, each divided into over 11 chapters. And each of these chapters are themselves divided into 3 parts with 10 missions each. Those missions have plenty of cutscenes which are fully voiced (currently only in japanese because of budget reasons). One chapter part had roughly the same length as a Book in FEH. NIKKE introduces new characters usually with huge side story events whoch makes you care for that characters. Aside from Mythic heroes and the main characters most units in FEH just feel to be randomly thrown into the maps. Just for the sake of having enemies in a map. Compared to moderln (and even some older gatcha games such as Azur Lane) the story in FEH just feels lazy.

I love when CCs make videos like this because a lack of good and engaging PvE content has been the biggest problem with the game for such a long time and really needs more attention brought to it. I've been begging and pleading for years to have a meaty and consistent PvE experience that players can sink their teeth into. Something you can play daily like AR but, you know, not PvP. I've had other ideas I'd like to see implemented like a legendary gauntlet-like mode (if anyone else has experience with Pokemon Masters) using abyssal battles you keep going through until you run out of units, but that's a long explanation for elsewhere.

I have a idea of mod: A campaign where you have to get from point A to point B, choosing your route with short but difficult or long but easier (or/and difficulty=reward). Where you choose X units useable and you can freely choose who to deploy between each fight (with a knowlegde of who you fight), and if a unit die in battle they're unusable, just like in classic mode. With maybe something more into it but I don't know what.

And I've said this before instead of me skins for the same old units over and over, just give the old ones weapon upgrades, and give it a unique way of acquiring those upgrades like beating special levels with set teams.

i hope they do something like tempest trials that can be super duper hard and you can optionally play with friends! i feel like most of the content i used to really really look forward to is easy enough to auto battle. I think modes that are easy and chill should exist like that, i still like them, but having a challenge that incentivizes working together just sounds like it would be refreshing

Tempest Trials used to be a challenge in the early game but powercreep and nerfing the mode made it another autobattle exercise. I distinctly remember the first TT’s final Awakening themed map being hard.

More game modes and events that use the My Summoner Unit and Friend Units. Rather have FEH be more about players working together than bashing each other in arena or duels.

I want more multi team modes again because it actually allows us to use all of our build up units. I don't play duels ever so it feels so weird that Arena Assault gets removed every other week for it. I loved the elemental gardens and the early movement type ghb clear quests because they offered a goal to build towards to. One of my favourite mods I actually pull and build units for right now are the limited abyssal maps with characters from specific games. The game does have a lot of fun modes and I think keeping hem in rotation is smart because many would get boring or annoying if you had to play them every day.

I want Rokkr Seiges to come back, I'm still missing some accessories-- Tap Battle would be so good if it was a minigame for Aether Resort that has a bigger song selection and that you can just do whenever~ It could just play like the extra stages, so that each "floor" is the full song, and there aren't repeats. (Then we won't have to play Roy's Departure half the time!) (Tap Battle and Pawns of Loki are my favourites, though granted, I've never touched the harder difficulty on PoL)

I just wish Intelligent Systems would put a whole bunch of characters that aren't easy to unlock in some Grand Hero Battle style backlog, there's nearly 1200 heroes in this game now, you'd think they would've done something like that by now. That or just make getting new characters slightly easier.

Its a bit of a hot take bit we need better "non battle modes" since so many favourites are so old and near useless with the rampent creep of modern units, modes like lost lore and tap battle are pretty much their only usable grounds. That said if I had to create a new mode I'd have it feature collections/sets. For example of you have the base form of the four Nohrian siblings (+ a female corrin) you'll unlock a special map using them ("hard" difficulty [vs lv40+ foes]). The reward for beating the map is simply 2 orbs, however their is also a bonus for the units involved; they gain a permanent status doubling EXP/SP/HM growths (stackable with blessings/events/exp-valor ect) OR halfing costs (grails/feathers/flowers ect). I understand is less of a mode but it does give more PVE content that resolves some issues. Being forced to use specific unit like HoF/limited battles challange players but they also have the freedom to use their own prebuilt units and not temporary ones that are gone after an event (assuming no forma usage). It rewards players for filling out their catalogue rather than just 4 modern units and steamrolling content. It can work in conjunction to lost lore and tell stories/reference mainline games, or even recontextualise events. Objectives can vary per map ie norhian siblings defend a static corrin vs hoshidan siblings/ three house leaders have to reach an escape tile near a byleth (running from kostas' bandits).

Agree with this. I flat out skip a bunch of the modes including Summoner Duels because they are just not at all fun. You're right in that Seer Snare is like the one decent mode they've done in forever. Frankly I question why I ever still play since the game is largely not even fun anymore, but sunk cost fallacy and whatnot... I tend to only do the stuff that either interests me or is easy enough to not be a hassle just to keep myself from hating the game these days. It's already too much of a pain understanding the essay that is each skill now (I wonder if I should be happy they outright refuse to offer any of the newer skills on 3*/4*s since at least I don't need a diploma to figure out what Deadly Blows 3 does :P)

I like the idea of keeping the PVE events that require you to play the game going around more frequently, but I would also like to see the game experiment more with handing out trial units. ATM the only trial characters we get are either rather old units in Hall of Forms or decided by chance in Binding Worlds/United Warfront while we get events with every new banner (Forging Bonds, Tempest Trials and the Legendary Hero Battles) so I would like to see the game implement these trial unit features into these modes, say like in forging bonds and tempest trials you can pick one of the new units to join your team for that battle, they would count as a bonus unit and give people a chance to try them out before summoning on them if they wish. While I like the idea of United Warfront, I would rather see it become the new version of the Legendary hero battle where we get 3 maps to complete with that hero say for Emblem Lyn (as she is the newest that would count for this) you would fight a map containing Lloyd and Linus followed by a map containing Nergal and Fallen members of the Black Fang, finally you would face the Emblem Lyn map we had all the while you have the choice to replace a member of your team with Emblem Lyn, similar to how I would like the Forging bonds/Tempest Trials to work. These maps can also be scaled up and down for difficulty as they are now. Each map could also add in some flavor text as well if they wanted. These events would come and go with the banners as they do now while other events can go around on a weekly schedule (HOF/Seer’s Snare/Grand Conquests/Rokkr Sieges/Binding Worlds as well as some new events maybe bringing the total up to 8 so every event happens once every 2 months almost). SDR and SDS would also continue to run on their own cycles

The fact that we haven’t gotten infernal and abyssal difficulties for the main stories chapter (and other battles that give orbs like blessed gardens and so)is baffling, because you’d think it’s an obvious thing to do and would make the game more fun

Seer snare is the best game mode. It's fun and the weapon triangle kinda works there. Meaning you have to use your brain for rock/paper/scisors logic (it's something!)

They could delete out a lot of the older skills which aren't relevant anymore. Like the weapon breaker skills which are built into every new units weapons. Just cleans it up when trying to search through skill inheritance.

Yeah... nowadays I don't feel in the mood of playing Heroes, back then I was used to play it nearly daily, now... just whenever I feel in the mood to return, but quickly I end up forgetting it exists, as having way too complex stuff recently to the point of being a hazzle to learning it anymore and I feel it's pointless.

i know this can be common end gane idea but they should add abyss equivalent to feh. genshin, being most popular creating a montly end game mode. we have to clear certain floors to get orbs. it keep pve afloat. a lot of new gatcha have made abyss equivalent to it and it bring old and new units. sure arena was one idea concept but you get 1 orb at most. it can offer at least maybe 40 orbs at most like tempest trials. maybe 25 since IS is greedy.

I will not take the Pawns of Loki slander. It turns the game into an autochess like game and I absolutely love it. Wish it lasted more than 2 days tho

As someone who has quit FEH almost 5 years ago and has only checked in briefly around 2 years ago, I think the game suffers heavily from feature bloat, among other things. Over the years there has clearly been more of a focus on quantity over quality. If you don't like grinding the PvP modes there is only so long that the PvE content will keep you engaged. It's also quite overstimulating from a new player perspective if such a thing as a new FEH player even still exists. IS should really focus on what they already have instead of trying to add something new, especially since the way they tell their main story has remained pretty much unchanged ever since launch.

Seer Snare is my favorite mode tbh. I just wish the rewards were better. Imagine if they let us burn a forma soul to actually inherit the skills one unit earns in the playthrough.

i dont really see why people hatted affinity auto battles when its not really any different than the other autobattle modes. personally, i would like to see autobattle summoner duels where duo buttons can be used by ai. and make it 1v1v1! ooh or make it 2v2v2 where 6 players each bring 3 units! anything where we can show off our units to other players because building a fav and showing it off is whats most fun about feh imo! there are obviously bigger issues in feh tho like dragonflower creep, 10+ being virtually useless thanks to base stat creep, old prf weapons and skills being power crept, the slow rate of new refines, how illegible weapon and skill descriptions have become, the bloated amount of units that overlap each others archetype, how resplendent grant p2w stats since f2p have no access to them.

I have no grander wish than a coop PvE mode with nice rewards/incentives but given IS' inability to design just engaging modes for solo play (Seer Snare the closest to being an enjoyable roguelike) and how they strive to monetize every other mode I ultimately hope they never even try.

I feel like the game just flat out doesn’t give the player any real reason to play, the story and how they go about presenting it is boring, the game modes are generally just a chore, the power creep is getting annoying and hard to keep up with, etc. Doesn’t look like they even intend to improve this late into the game so I’m just waiting for the inevitable while slowly building my favs

What I really hate is how they arbitrarily decided to close off Arena Assault whenever Summoner Duels are active. I’ll admit, I don’t really like Arena Assault, but mainly because I often encounter teams who are way overtuned. Just knowing that I have zero chance to beat the other team because of one or two units is frustrating, but I digress… I still play Arena Assault anyway because it’s the only reliable way to earn Refining Stones, but because it gets closed whenever Summoner Duels are active, I have to wait even longer to get the Refining Stones. There were many times when I was just one stone short… I’m aware that Summoner Duels grants amazing prizes, and I would LOVE to earn it all… but I absolutely refuse to play it. It’s already difficult enough to deal with overtuned units in Arena Assault; I’m NOT dealing with any of that with an actual brain pulling the strings. It’s the same reason I gave up competitive Pokémon battling years ago, lmao.

They need to add an unranked aether map mode. Let me just play the aether bases. Its really disappointing that i can only do 1-3 player maps a day. I don't care about my lift IS. I want to try more player created rooms in a sitting. Its the most in depth non summoner duel mode to me that isn't a rotating extra mode.

It's true that more varied game modes would be appreciated, but I really appreciate that FEH doesn't take me hours for dailies. PvP is hell, but also not mandatory to progress, so I don't mind skipping it. I do NOT want a FEH version of Guild Wars/Unite and Fight. I think the current mindset for NIntendo/IS is to keep the mobile game running without outright replacing mainline games on Switch, which would explain the low investment content.

I only played Limited Hero Battles the first two times it came out. Making specialized teams and then trying to win for it is not worth the stress when the payout for winning is a couple toilet papers.

Honestly, I have no idea what I'm thinking, but IS not making the game into a not PVE game modes seems very disappointing but i doubt unless if IS do something about the game like it's way too focused on PVP game modes, i don't like that either so i agree Zeshado that IS really needs to make it more PVE content, i literally don't want any more of PVP game content, like I'm not trying to be rude.. but IS doesn't seems to care about for F2P giveaways whatsoever, which made me realize if it's because IS needs money to increase low revenue into a high revenue.

FEH has more issues than just its content, but putting in more effort towards variety of modes and such would help. I don't dislike the pvp modes, but between the powercreep and how heavy you have to invest it feels like to keep up, I've been comfortable for years now of just, good enough bare minimum to never demote below tier 21 aether raids and 17 arena. Summoner duels is even more cancer, don't play it, only enter one battle and forfeit counts to still collect your current rank rewards in sdr and sds. TT is an alright but auto battle often. Forging bonds same deal except easier but also barely an attempt at the heroes interacting with each other. Heroes Journey is okay I guess. Hall of Forms I really have fun with, same with Binding Worlds except I don't get as excited for that one because no free otherworld bonds. I like the idea of limited hero battles, but it sucks when you don't have good title coverage and even more so with relatively newer battles that can feel annoying even with your full barracks. Love Seer's Snare but that's about it. Pawns of Loki, meh. Much of the rest either sucks, is barely much, and/or gets basically abandoned.

personally make new game modes. and they should take away the bonus units in pvp... like its not fair for new players. they would not only need +10 units but they would need tons of bonus units +10 and they would need very rare skills to score high. and u need a unit good enough to handle just about any unit. oh and most would require like arcane weapons. and good luck getting those unless u saved tons of orbs in advance. theres a huge reason why they drop from 120 to 20 rev in money. why cause they dont listen to the fans

They should remove the gatcha, and put way more effort into the story and writing with more OCs from askr and giving them screen time and story significance, as well as making the maps more difficult and larger.
