Zeus presents Five "original" Ocean / Imagine loaders (un-emulated) for the real C64. Classic loading music from the golden era of C64 gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and the composers that were involved in making these loaders.
My top fave and what I consider the best out of all C64 loading music brought to you in full original C64 un-emulated glory!!!!
RAMBO (0:06 - Martin Galway)
OCEAN LOADER 2 (3:31 - Martin Galway)
OCEAN LOADER 3 (7:39 - Peter Clarke)
OCEAN LOADER 4 (10:32 - Jonathan Dunn)
OCEAN LOADER 5 (13:45 - Jonathan Dunn)
I left Ocean Loader 1 out as i felt it did not link the others smoothly unlike the class Rambo loader, it slowed the others down as far as quality and also Martin Galway stated himself that Ocean loader 1 was never his finished version, it eventually was finished the way he wanted it and became Ocean loader 2.
There isn't much difference between the two but loader 2 does sound much more ploished.
Hope all you C64 fans enjoy this upload.
Please note: NONE of my game uploads are emulated in any way whatsoever, they are 100% original recordings by myself taken directly from the original hardware the game was intended for, that way you know you're watching the real thing.
I will also always state weather i am using any cheats in the game, if not mentioned then i am not using any.
Check out my channel ( / zeusdaz , dedicated to gamers who loved the games of yesteryear.
Switch to 480p for best video quality and feel free to leave comments on my channel and vid's.
Keeping the memory of the C64 and it's cool games alive!!!

I get goosebumps from Jonathan Dunn's 4th loader tune every time. The flashing colors of the border, the drum beats, the synthesizers in action, the beautifully drawn screens. Just proof that computer hardware is a genuine work of art.

God I love that little SID chip. Bob Yannes was a genius for creating this piece of silicon wizardy and Galway, Hubbard, Tel, Follin etc are his disciples for arranging and programming these incredible tunes. These tracks still make the hairs on my neck stand up even today.

@@brianstrawberry2116 Actually it sounds much closer to the emulated version on my C64. Did you know that every C64 sounds slightly different, due to the SID chip being manually 'tuned' on the production line before each C64 left the factory?
@trixylizard6970
@trixylizard6970 Жыл бұрын
@@PhilMerricks WHAT! No freaking way, I didn't know that! That's like how every of Antoni Stradivarius' violin masterpieces were too, they all had tiny differences owing to the composition of the wood et c (and because it is impossible to create two perfectly identical anythings), which gave them a unique tone and personality. I consider the simile 100% apt, too. This was without doubt the Stradivarius of a revolutionary new era in music creation and, for that matter, human civilization. It still is.

I visited someone's house in the eighties as a teenager and witnessed the Rambo loading and was totally blown away. I had a ZX Spectrum myself. A couple of years later I borrowed a cassette tape called "Datahits" from someone which had five C64 enhanced tunes on, the first being Rambo loader! Listened to that a lot. Managed to find that cassette on MP3 and even listen to it in the car sometimes now. Poor family have to put up with it every now and again :)

I'm not bothered about dislikes left on my uploads because they could be left for many reasons such as they feel the video upload quality is poor (youtubes fault), video too short, too long or simply just down to jealousy that they didn't upload it un-emulated first or even that they don't like the tunes which obviously is not my fault. I guess it would help if people were to explain the reason why they left a dislike but i won't lose sleep over it :-) Thanks to everyone leaving comments!!!

Well bizarrely the newer chips *were* made to improve matters.The 'features' that sid musicians used in tracks such as these loaders exploited bugs in the chip to do things that they weren't meant to do. The 8580 was made to correct the problems/bugs to make them closer to the tech specs which resulted in this change in sound.

Sounds ok to me, it may have something to do with the fact that it's a C64C i'm using, not the breadbox C64, apparently the C64C soundchip does not have the digi clicks enabled, it can be done manually but i can't be bothered, if it's not that reason then i'm guessing your listening to emulated versions and have got used to them?!

I'm not 100% knowledgeable on this but I think there's at least a couple (of not more) differences between the 6581 & 8580 sid chips. One is the aforementioned digi sound but the second which is probably more relevant here is the filters, I think the bass on the 6581 is a lot fuller sounding compared to the relatively thin sounding 8580 (the one used on your C64C). Bloody amazing tracks irrespective of the chips used though :)

8580,...I don't like the Neeeoooww Weeeeooow effect the 6581 chip gives, all my stuff uploaded with 8580 unless the title music contains digi speech in which case I will use the breadbin.

My question is why the bloody hell couldn't commodore leave well enough alone and leave the original sid chip?! If it really does sound different, why fix something that ain't broke?!...Money i guess :-/ I have to say though, through my panasonic crt widescreen tv, the base thunders through it especially Target Renegade title music, sounds fantastic! I'm sure youtube reducing quality doesn't help this issue mind you.
