Thanks ma'am for the advice on this video. Earlier this month my visa was denied. After self evaluation I found out it was on how I defended my finance. I put self funding and on my ds-160 I put it that I run an oil servicing company. My COA is 24,500 dollars no scholarship. The interview was going on very smoothly untill I mentioned how am going to fund my studies. I told him I have saved over 15m Nigeria naira for my program and the officer looked at me and interrupted and said no that 15m Nigeria naira I said I have is not equivalent to 24,500 dollars and he then typed then next was denial. My school have sent me another i-20 bearing same self funding but how to answer the question what has changed is my worry right now. Because my mistake in the first interview was using the old Nigerian Central Bank naira-to-dollar conversion rate but the officer used the new conversation rate and said what I said is not equivalent in dollars

hii, I got rejected this time for my F1 visa. In the beginning i was asked about my educational background, universities i applied to and was asked for the reason for selection of this university. everything went pretty smooth till then but after that she asked me whether my aunt lives there or not, I said no. After that she asked that in 2015 when u got refused for visitors visa with your parents, why u wanted to visit back then? I answered to meet my father's friend. After this she checked something and got refused. Now the actual thing is my aunt lives there but we are not in touch so i said no, but back in 2015 when my father applied he mentioned that his cousin sister lives there and due to this contradictory information I might have got rejection. I did not wish to lie intentionally but my consultant said your f1 visa have nothing to do with previous visitors visa rejection and that is why we did not pay attention to it and this blunder happened. So can you please please suggest me anything for this.

In my situation my visa was first approved for a university and then within 2 days of my visa approval (didn’t receive my passport yet) my i20 was canceled mentioning the reason as the seats are full(no prior intimation). today my visa got refused under 214b. Everything was good until when she asked about what you are doing nowadays. I replied that currently I am working as a freelancer...., she immediately handed over me yellow slip. Please suggest I should re-attempt

What if the rejection was for a different visa type ? Is it still a red flag? Eg. The rejection was for B1 and now you’re going for F1 into a different state . How do you go about it?

Hello Mandy, I was denied my visa, which were unfortunately refused under 214(b) section. And I was fumbled and but answered the question but my university is like low profile and in my second attempt, I have changed my university and course (with 6 months of gap I've done intersnship also which is related to my major now) to which I was already shortlisted university before (I'm going now). So, how can I answer or improve in this second attempt?.... In this case.

You said not to change school I thought of reapplying to same school and getting a new scholarship from the school and a new i20 rather than deferring is it better
