素晴らしい内容でした👍 日本人として、繁体字の方が当用漢字と似ている字が多いので、最初は馴染みの薄い簡体字で中文を学習したのは正解だったと思います。繁体字を読む練習もしています。北京と台湾のラジオを聴き比べたりもしています。 British EnglishとAmerican Englishの違いみたいなもので、両方わかるに越したことは無いと思います。
As a mainland Chinese, there is no problem at all for me to read traditional Chinese articles. When those traditional characters are put together, even if a new character appear among them, you can easily estimate its corresponding simplified version by the surrounding context. I am satisfied with most parts of the current version of simplified Chinese, especially I like its concise design. However, I think it was a bad decision to merge many characters that had the same pronunciations but with totally different meanings. Such as 隻 and 衹 became 只, and 髪 and 發 became 发.
As a Taiwanese, I can tell that most of the content in this video is correct. However, some statements are not that accurate because of the complicated Chinese history. I will not explain here in case some irrational shouting matches happen. 7:43 More importantly, 心(heart) is the Chinese radical of the word "愛"(love). You can guess a word's meaning or category based on the radical. For instance, 頭"腦", the left part of the 腦(brain) is the radical 肉(meat); if you wrote it wrong to 月(moon) or remove that part, it would be harder to learn and memorize. 8:31 There is no doubt that any educated junior high school student can write that sentence correctly. It is interesting to hear a deep-dive Chineseish acknowledgment from a foreigner lol. Keep up the good work.

It is not surprising that some Taiwanese don't like Simplified Chinese very much. I have seen quite a few humiliating comments about Simplified Chinese in other forums. It is perfectly alright to keep using the form of character one thinks is better. There is no need to criticize either. BTW, I can use both the Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
